BMW wishes it was better than Tesla, but wishes mean little to an engineer. There is presently nothing in the consumer market that even approaches the perfection of a Tesla. And none of them will ever catch up to Tesla, the best they can do is to copy Tesla five years after the fact. Tesla is innovating faster than any other OEM, now or in history, that means that people who are waiting for a Tesla Killer are delusional, it will never happen. There have been over fifty EVs hailed by the automotive press as "Tesla Killer", it is now just a joke, as is the automotive press opinions and vastly crooked reviews. There is so much miss information in this video its depressing. The reverse assistant is not for parking its for reversing out of tricky situation such as a narrow lane. Its in the name park assist for parking, reverse assistant for back up assistant . Then there is the distant control... its distant control in the menu the toggle on the steering wheel is simply to switch the mode between adaptive cruise only or full assistance and to adjust your set speed nothing more. Also while testing the ADAS systems why not bring up the ADAS display on the cluster for better information on what the car is doing ? This system is rather solid overall and if you do a search for some other videos such as ruclips.net/video/xN-0UvhJpLs/видео.html to see what the system can do. Yes I get it this is not a review but at least learn what the system does before demoing it. This type of content and its bad information is misleading, you can see it in the comments people now think the park assistance just drives off into parking signs.. there is more time spent on subjective dribble about a crystal and styling than there is on what the ADAS systems in the car can and cant do.

This ADAS should have a high level of ASIL? Security of the platform is paramount.
I wouldn't take it.. lane keep assist/Lane centering that requires me to keep my hand on the steering wheel? might as well steer it myself..and parking assist that cannot recognize parking lot signs? Seems like too much testing in Bavaria, and not enough in the rest of the world. The surround view seems decent. I wonder how lane keep assist works on snow covered roads..
Please put a destination in and let it drive...
sort of surprised, with the auto-park features, the vehicle doesn't leave the steering wheel aligned straight ahead
EDIT: Other people are saying the backup assistant option they chose is for backing up, not for parking.

Just look at Munro's engineering reviews of Tesla compared to any of the others, nothing comes close.
2 grills in front are ugly and no frunk.

I will never own a car this expensive. Even if money was no object, I would not buy a Beemer. I wonder if I am alone in this opinion.
You are not alone. My cousin became a multimillionaire in a year, when I questioned him about the changes in his life, he said the only thing he regrets is buying a BMW. His quote is that every time you pass the dealership you may as well just throw hundred dollar bills out the window.
Nice, quick summary Mike. Would I ever purchase a 500kG vehicle? Nope.
500?
The noise is really weird
its a little bit sad that a person reviewing the car has so little knowledge about it. I need info, not someone exploring it
Thanks for reviewing the iX. I have one on order, a 2023 model that should be here in early October. Can't wait to get it. I need to sell my E90 M3 before it arrives so I can park it in the garage.
It's be nice if Tesla copied this parking software.
the interior is absolutely vile, why is it microfibre panelling? And dont even get me started on the gems
Гул моторов жесть 😃
That fake motor noise is dumb. I would rather hear the whine of a gear train then some fake sound played over speakers. Hopefully that's an option that can be turned off.
The door crystals annoyingly refract light this is a stupid design
Yeah, I noticed that, too. “Too much bling is not a good thing.”
@@djprojectus No, I don’t get it. Did you instead mean “it’s” an option, which is a contraction of “it is” and has an apostrophe, or did you actually mean to use your “its,” which implies possession, although I’m not sure what “it” possesses here? So, no, I still don’t get it. Please clarify.
People used to hang CD's from their mirror to refract light all over the place as they drive. Maybe the designer thought that was cool.
I think this option appeals to the ladies more, don’t mind it in my xDrive 50
The camera washing is pretty neat. Tesla has self driving ambitions, but on a misty morning the cars cannot see anything.
This is absolutely not true lol
My tesla can drive even when the cameras are fairly dirty...
This BMW is just mindblowing gamechanging and revolutionary!
Spoken like the anti Tesla troll you are. There is nothing about this car that even approaches the engineering of a Tesla, even though you will never admit it.
dont die like the guys in germany on the ix adas
It's nowadays a Tesla cheering channel, what you would except?
