Great video I learned a lot of details one little item you missed is on the volume control knob. You talked about the long press to reboot the system however, a quick click on the volume control knob puts the sound in mute, and then click again to end mute.
Great tutorial super helpful thank you! Another cool feature is you can point at the screen and do a circular motion with your finger to change the volume
Just had my M240I in for some warranty issues and they gave me a ix 50 MSport- despite being 2500kg and the size of a planet it is seriously quick, electric is definitely relaxing to drive with the instant torque although I did miss the sound of my car
You can open the hood still. Two wires underneath the front console, one on each side and you pull them down. Each side pops open and you can open the hood.
Didn't know that, will have to try it out. Do keep in mind they did this so the general public would not mess with it. You could damage the edges when lifting it.
Great video. I pick up my iX next week and I learned a lot. One quick question. When there are 2 users (each their own key), can you set up Apple CarPlay for each user? With our X5 45e this isn’t possible, only 1 CarPlay we can setup. Thank you!
There are some differences between the packages . My package does not the special seats. So memory for driver seat positioning is based on-the key fab. Also does not have indoor camera. ( seat plus indoor camera is part of a package) Great job thank you
This is super informative!! Thank you again for putting vid. together. When you go into menu I've noticed dashcam reordering, is this a built in dash camera or records before/after accident occurs. Thank you for your input.
BMWs do have built in drive recorder. It doesn’t work as good as a real dash cam though. The drive recorder is used to provide you an additional surround view that helps with parking and yes it does have a feature where it can record an accident. This only records when the airbags go off and you have to make sure you set this up ahead of time as well. I’d opt in for a real dash cam, BMW does offer one of their own that can record even in parked situations.
They have been reports that this is no longer going to be a feature in the newer BMWs, I would say no to this. Your best way is going to be to upload the files from your computer to your smart phone.
Hi I have a question on the memory seats. Do those save to the key or car. Like if I save set 1 to one key and save set 1 to another key will it keep the changes based on the key? Or is it based on the car and when I set 1 it will change no matter what key I use.
iX drives much more smooth and quicker too of course. I personally thing EV vehicles have the edge here with performance in general. BMW Handling mixed with Instant Torque makes for an amazing performance vehicle.
Rear wheel turn is great for low parking lot speeds. It does do a good job of increasing the turn radius and yes helps with parking as well. If you're in a large car like the IX and tend to do a lot of parking or very low speed driving, you may like this feature. You can totally tell the difference as well, as for the price it can tend to change depending on vehicle, but I would look online on the build website.
Haven't tried this one but the best way to try is to go into the seating menu where you would see the button to start massage seats, then try clicking and holding it for a little bit and see if it pops up as "add to shortcut" or "add to shortcut as gesture" if it's possible, it'll be done this way.
Yes I'm pretty sure it is, having the glove box secured when getting a car valet has been around for a longggg time. Im sure by going into valet mode, it'll lock all by itself.
Although I am 11 months late, to open the front hood of the bmw ix, you actually have little pully things beside your leg (kinda hidden) on the left side of the driver and the right side of the front passenger (same exact spot and height within the car)
@@BeamerView The thing is im scared that the ix (when I do get it) will pull off the same issue as my nissan ariya does (fails to start up during winter) where id have to jump start the car in order to move it to a charger (but thats from like a week of not driving). Funny enough, im doing a little too much research on the ix way before I can afford it 🤣
however it might also be just my car since i didnt come into the dealership enough to get the battery replaced but I have came in once over it (of course the computer didnt detect anything), which ironically happened to the dealership owner and some staff
Largely depend on the type of commute that I'm doing. But, its great for less miles and city like driving, mines more highway which makes more sense to get a gas powered car. But if that wasn't a factor, I would choose the IX hands down. Much better tech, more fun to drive, easier to live with, better resale. The only thing I would be hesitant about is some minor bugs here and there. The vehicles are very new and I would wait about one more year before jumping into one so they have time to refine the vehicle more.
Not sure why it may be doing it, It could be the motion detector detecting something moving. Try pressing lock to disable this feature and see if that's what's causing it. I would also make sure the vehicle is locked if it isn't already.
You Can open the hood i have had mine for 2 days and know how to do it . And rim wise . Actualy the 21ones have the shortest range so wrong again .ok this vid is useless
How can you make a video claiming to know all the tips and tricks and then not know that the hood can be opened through two access panels in the a pillars. "Only bmw technicians can get in there" my ass

Question one: I've seen the two tone, how do you spec that?
Just purchased the 2025 BMW EV iX SUV. My husband and I are in our 60's and 70's so, not tech savvy. This video was SO helpful. Thank you!
Great to hear! Congrats on the new vehicle, and thanks for watching.
Thank you, so very well done! 😊
Thank you for watching!

Yup that’s a correct one! Little but good feature to know about.
Thanks for the run through - I’ll save this video until my iX arrives in November 👍🏻
Congrats on the iX. I'll have much more content up by then too so stay tuned =)
One foot driving (mostly) can be gained by using the rocker drive switch and pressing it again when you get to D which will switch it into B
Great tutorial super helpful thank you! Another cool feature is you can point at the screen and do a circular motion with your finger to change the volume
Great tip! Yup that would be gesture control. Great magical feature you could say.
Just had my M240I in for some warranty issues and they gave me a ix 50 MSport- despite being 2500kg and the size of a planet it is seriously quick, electric is definitely relaxing to drive with the instant torque although I did miss the sound of my car
Yes the only thing holding me back from
Electric is the sound and I do drive a lot so I’d be charging too often.
Put it into sport mode and smile 😃

Didn't know that, will have to try it out. Do keep in mind they did this so the general public would not mess with it. You could damage the edges when lifting it.
This was tremendous. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Reach out if you ever have questions.

You can have both phone setup for carplay but only one can be active at a time. You would have to go into the mobile device settings to switch them.
There are some differences between the packages . My package does not the special seats. So memory for driver seat positioning is based on-the key fab. Also does not have indoor camera. ( seat plus indoor camera is part of a package)

Great video, I'll be picking up my 2025 iX xdrive 50 on Friday. I can't wait!
Congrats!!!
You can open the hood via two loops on the driver's side and passenger side front.
Will have to try this out good to know. Keep in mind they refrain from doing this since it could damage the edges of the hood.
Very complete review. Nice job!
Glad it helped!!
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! Don't forget to Subscribe if you haven't already so I can help you answer questions in the future!
Which one has larger range model 60 or 50’s for IX ?
50 does, the m60 model is a performance one which has less range, more power
JSYK drive recorder function in IDrive 8.5 limits recorder to only one camera, you can no longer select multiple (more than one) to record
Ah great to know, was not aware of this one!!
Great reviews well done
Glad you like them!
Can you also use usb A outlet for media files playback?
They have been reports that this is no longer going to be a feature in the newer BMWs, I would say no to this. Your best way is going to be to upload the files from your computer to your smart phone.

It will save to the BMW ID which is essentially linked to a key. So to answer your question, it will save to the key.
Just Have a question how does X5 xDrive50e compare to ix? would like to know whats the differences in terms of performance and driving experience. Thx
iX drives much more smooth and quicker too of course. I personally thing EV vehicles have the edge here with performance in general. BMW Handling mixed with Instant Torque makes for an amazing performance vehicle.
I like to know the cost and option of rear wheel turn, is it really better for parking and especially in tight spot?
Rear wheel turn is great for low parking lot speeds. It does do a good job of increasing the turn radius and yes helps with parking as well. If you're in a large car like the IX and tend to do a lot of parking or very low speed driving, you may like this feature. Do you know how to set a gesture to turn on massage for the seats? Thanks!!
Haven't tried this one but the best way to try is to go into the seating menu where you would see the button to start massage seats, then try clicking and holding it for a little bit and see if it pops up as "add to shortcut" or "add to shortcut as gesture" if it's possible, it'll be done this way.
Nice video, sir! Q: is the glove box lockable?
Yes I'm pretty sure it is, having the glove box secured when getting a car valet has been around for a longggg time. Im sure by going into valet mode, it'll lock all by itself.

Good to know, i've never tried it yet. I'd say the majority of people would never have to access it. But cool to know.
@@BeamerView The thing is im scared that the ix (when I do get it) will pull off the same issue as my nissan ariya does (fails to start up during winter) where id have to jump start the car in order to move it to a charger (but thats from like a week of not driving). I wish you could've drove the car. Is this car handicap accessible? Does it have self driving?
Self driving yes, it requires the package DRIVING ASSISTANCE PROFESSIONAL, which it has. I do not believe it is handicap accessible
@beamerview would you choose the iX over a x3 or x5 currently?
Largely depend on the type of commute that I'm doing. But, its great for less miles and city like driving, mines more highway which makes more sense to get a gas powered car.

Where is the usb outlet for transfer of drive recorder?
You may have to get a USB C Flash Drive in order to export it.
It's located near the cup holders on the bottom of the armrest.
Beautiful car
Agreed!
How to adjust the inside mirror in bmw ix
The rear view mirror is a manual adjustment.
Thanks
Thank you for the super thanks!
3:28 messed up the charging cable section.
Sure, let me know what you think was wrong.
super helpful. thanks.
You're welcome!
I have realized that when my car is parked in my driveway it will often flash its lights a few times per night . What is that ?
Not sure why it may be doing it, It could be the motion detector detecting something moving. Try pressing lock to disable this feature and see if that's what's causing it. I would also make sure the vehicle is locked if it isn't already.
Nice car
Glad you think so!
Price?
About $95,000
I'd much rather have a 3.0CS or even a 2002tii
Good choices!
No HUD on an M60? Why
I think it should have it.
Какое название ?
BMW iX
Can you use a ring to turn your car on and off open the doors? They sell smart rings these days
Rings are not yet compatible as far as I know, watches yes. I do know it works with the apple watch for now.
Audio control
Yes
The sound balance is terrible on the start
TRUE!
Where is sport exhaust settings? 😂😂😂
They hid it beneath the seat =)
It's called "iconic sounds" 😁
Your vickle 😂
Rhymes with pickle!
Is their a dog mode?
There is not, we need one though!
There needs to be a pussy mode.
Dude... slow down... this aint a race to see how fast you can get thru this....

Good points! I'll try the hood as well, they did say it's not recommended since there is a chance that you'll damage the top edges of the hood.
How can you make a video claiming to know all the tips and tricks and then not know that the hood can be opened through two access panels in the a pillars. "Only bmw technicians can get in there" my ass
Yup it’s possible. But no point on the average consumer getting into there. Good point though 😘
Why are BMW ambient lights so bad? Vs Merc
Wouldn't say they are too too bad, Mercs lights are just very very good. I will admit to that.
