  • In this video, BMW shows you how to control , Assisted Driving and the Distance Control with Stop&Go function as part of Driving Assistant Professional. Manage Assisted Driving and the Distance Control with the switches on the left of your steering wheel. Press the “On/Off” Button to turn on the last active assistance system and push “MODE” until the symbols for Distance Control or Assisted Driving are displayed in the Instrument Cluster. Press “SET” to take over the currently detected speed limit or to save your current speed if no speed limit is detected. The set speed is marked in the speedometer. When the road ahead is clear, the system accelerates or brakes automatically to maintain the set speed. If there is a vehicle driving in front, the system adapts your speed to maintain the set distance. Assisted Driving also helps to keep your BMW in lane with supporting steering wheel movements. Press the “-/+” button to adjust the set speed manually.

      Indeed it does. However, for many people, there is probably way too much technology and it can really be a challenge to learn it all. I have an I7 and let me assure you, if you're not technically minded, it's probably not a good idea to get one. I'm not so bad at it, but it's taken me many, many dozens of hours, if not hundreds, of watching videos to get the hang of it all. Buyer beware. Don't forget that it's not just a new car, it's new technology.

    How do you adjust the distance?

      On the old system, I’m pretty sure you could adjust the distance control from the steering wheel?

    Thanks, Driving Assistant Professional is just amazing and I really enjoy it :)
    But what about automatic lane switch? It seems to not work on my 7series even if I have the option activated...

      I think the automatic lane change only works in certain cities

      So BmW being such a luxury car doesn’t seem to have innovation in place , where a model 3 Tesla is capable of changing lane n come s with full driving capability,. Sad to see,. Also the sentry mode.. the luxury brand bmw will be a brand that is already being ignored n will be if this continues,.

      Just nudge the indicator stalk in the direction you want to change lane to without it clicking fully. The car will then show a green arrow next to the steering wheel symbol and move into that lane when it is clear to do so.

    My exoerience is : do not rely on these systems alone. Collision warning doesn't always work in my car. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's a good thing I have good reflexes...

    I just bought the ix50 with assisted driving and it is VERY confusing just trying to figure out how to get it to work. Also, tried hands-free driving and kept feeling like the car was pulling into the lane next to me and very unsure if assisted was even engaged. Then kept telling me to put my hands on steering wheel which was also confusing. Very frustrating experience

    The buttons on the steering wheel are bad design, ugly, cheap, easier to dirty, less functional, more complicated than current model.

      This is only in iX. i4 has exactly the same controls as in idrive 7. They wanted to make iX different in everything.

    • @swisstrader
      @swisstrader Год назад

      Yes, and why are some of the controls like that little wheel so tiny??
