  • In this review I cover the Roccat Kone XP Air mouse. It retails for $170, but brings a lot to the table (or desk?). So is it worth the premium over its wired counterpart?

Loved my LEADR, but the base station just died, killing the wireless. It's also double-clicking a lot now, but it's been like 5 years since I got it. The Kone Xp Air seems like the best replacement. Especially on sale for $130.

Hello, a small question on the easy-shift button of the mouse. I searched but did not find.. can we hold this button in maintained mode????? Because to have access to the other allocations of the keys, we are forced to maintain this button and once released we return to normal mode !! But now if you keep this easy-shift button, you lose the 4 buttons on its left side because they are logically dedicated to the thumb... if the thumb is on the easy button, it can't also be on these 4 buttons!! If we can't, why isn't this button more on the right side of the mouse?

It seems like a great mouse. Currently using the Burst Pro Air. Considering that mouse cost $100, this mouse with all the functionality with the buttons, the dock, etc. seems fine at $170. That seems to be the going rate for a flagship mouse these days. The use case for COD Warzone is interesting since I'm also not great with my hotkeys for all the ancillary functions needed to play the game. If I had that all on the mouse itself it seems like a better way to play. I could also see this mouse being great for any MMO out there.

I am really hesitant to buy another Roccat mouse, last two Kone Remasters developed these issues within weeks from brand new out of the box condition. I have gone back to my Roccat Tyon that is 8 years old. Quality of products fell off a cliff when Turtle Beach acquired the company. :(

I got this mouse about a month now. I do like it and they are throwing out updates left and right. One gripe - one of the updates fixed the LED for charge indicator just above the DPI mouse. Sounds great minus the fact its bright as hell. Turning off the LEDs doesnt turn it off when its charging. And sometimes, it starts flashing, back to solid, flashing, back to solid. Just weird. I also wish that the software showed the hours left, not battery percentage. percentage isnt really useful lol. Otherwise, its a decent mouse. I did contact Roccat about the light and they told me there is no way to change it. Ill probably buy white electrical tape and cut a small piece to fit over it. Dumb but whatever.

This mouse is flaky as hell. Mine never lights the indicator between the profile switcher and scroll wheel, on dock or plugged in. Dock only lights up sometimes when placing mouse on it. (supposed to light according to charge %) Placed it on charger last night and it didn't charge. Hardware feels great, it is obviously firmware/software issues.

If you play COD:WZ then you should also get a Razer Tartarus Pro for your left hand.
Forget about gaming keyboards already. Those are still keyboards.
The Tart Pro comes with a D-pad, thumb button, and a spacebar like button for your thumb that you can basically quickly assign to more functions.
It even has a scroll wheel with click. Once you've assigned those to actions in game and muscle memory kicks in, it will change your game completely.

I just bought a Kone XP (not air). I am decently happy with it, but I would have been happier with it had I not had a really great mouse before that. The Roccat Tyon! That mouse had only one thing I didn't like, the small pointless analog flipper. Never used it and it was in the way, but the rest of the mouse felt tight, not like any buttons that feel like they could come loose like how I now feel with this XP mouse. Also the side buttons are quite awkward to get comfortable with compared to the Tyon. I wish they'd remake the Tyon and simply just remove the analog flipper on it. That would be perfection. Lighting was great, robustness was great. THAT is what I want. I desperately want the sideways-flipping flipper that was on the top and middle of the Tyon, I used that one sooo much, struggle to get comfy with pushing the scroll wheel left and right as on this one.

@@dskillz32 I just got mine and tested it for about an hour now. I came from the roccat NYTH(greatest mouse ever made).. unfortunately, it's been about 8 years and I'm getting sensor problems about twenty percent of the time. 8 years is still double the life of what some Logitech users claim. Anyways.. Half of the reviews, not this one because I don't remember if I finished this video, but... Ignore negative reviews saying,"the tilt wheel clicks the middle mouse button, the easy shift (bottom thumb button) is easy to press... All hogwash. Or they're really clumsy or whatever. This mouse is great. Four thumb buttons above are clicky, solid, and feel good. The bottom thumb button, I use it as a button and not easy shift as that's a dumb concept for that spot.. But you can make any button easy shift... Which I don't I just use them all as buttons(squad, Arma, Csgo nades). The bottom thumb button is solid. You actually have to give it some pressure to hit it. I like it. Comparing to my nyth, this is lighter(I don't mind either weight), however, the lmb and rmb clicks feel more solid on the nyth. Not a deal breaker. It's ok.. Just.. The nyth was perfect. Other than that.. this new one is better than I expected, especially after all the anti roccat fanboy reviews. Mouse feet are nice too. I just wish the bottom forward mouse button was a little bigger, as I'm trying to get used to that to crouch in cs.... My problem though... It's ok and I'll get used to it.. But damn.. My nyth was perfect. Bittersweet. Wireless is nice though. Solid mouse. Amazon for 130 rn. Take it back if you don't like it. Oh and no connection issues as other reviewers have said. Software solid as usual.

    Razer Synapse 3
