Noticed the clear transparent accent of this mouse… some people don’t actually like this, but I kind of do because it reveals the circuitry and how the mouse works and well to me. It’s a nice change of pace.
This is the best mouse I've had. It is much better than my previous Kone Pure. The quality of the buttons, the number of buttons, the softness of the cable, the look, the LEDs and most important ERGONOMY - all 10/10. I was surprised by the usability of the 4D roller. The only thing that doesn't quite work for me is Roccat's software - I would prefer it to be a bit lighter so to speak. I'm not a gamer - what matters to me is productivity.
Thank you for explaining how the easy shift function works AND that you can actually change which button does the shift. That was my primary concern for this mouse since I've been trying to find a replacement for my steelseries rival 500 and really wanted to be able to use the buttom thumb button. Earned yourself a like, thank you kind sir.
Enjoyed the review. The RGB on this mouse is really something else lol If you're still looking for a mousepad with a similar green I believe Elgato sell some, unsure of cost & sizes though :)
I've checked out the Elgato green screen mouse pads and they're a lot darker than I'd like. I have found some that are the color I'm looking for, but they're the standard size, not desk mats. 😅
@@ClyFaker Ah damn, you're right they do look a lot darker. I had a custom design mousepad printed by X-Raypad a while back but I remember shipping being a little pricey. Could be worth checking out anyway as they have a large range of sizes.
It makes sense though, since green screens skew darker as well. I've definitely been looking into custom desk mats as well. It's worth keeping in mind if I want to revamp my backdrop.
Hi Cly, here present as always. I wonder whether all those LEDs make the mouse hotter? I also see why this is cabled. the ARGB is super cool but it would kill the battery in no time. nice review! it's also crazy that Roccat reach out to you for a review. It must feel great!
I haven't had any issues with overheating, but with how bright these LEDs are I could definitely see it being a power hog. It'll be interesting to see if they release a wireless version like they have with the other Kone models. It's definitely exciting when a company I recognize reaches out.
Thanks. 😁 I've gotten a lot of comments on one of my older mouse reviews asking if it could drag click, so I thought it might be a good idea to at least understand the basics. The real question is whether or not honeycomb mice can drag click, since I'll be reviewing a couple of those eventually.
@@ClyFaker most mouse can drag click, the only problem is that they don't register clicks. Unfortunately there aren't many cheap mice for drag clicking, but maybe when this channel will get more popular you could review more expensive accessories
I'm slowly getting there. I've been offered more and more items that cost as much as this mouse and then some. Mice are only recently on the menu though. What would be really neat is if I could find the cheapest drag clicking mouse out there. I've heard drag clicking can really shorten the lifespan of a mouse, so being able to replace it for cheap would be great. It probably needs a decent polling rate like 500-1000 Hz, and I know of a couple that do. Oh, and the reason I was questioning the drag clickability of honeycomb mice is because some of them have the hex pattern going at least partially up the buttons. That might lose you some dragging real estate.
Looks like a cool mouse but I’m very skeptical of the quality for the price and can’t help but think they skimped out on a lot. Such a flashy mouse with a ton of buttons being less than a G502 or similar Razr or Corsair… probably not up to the same standard.
guys... anyone please.... older kone pure models, had mapped all "mouse"buttons under numbers. It meant that you did not need to attach any function to each button in the software and game would recognize them as mouse 1-15 or whatever it was.... is this somehow possible with pure xp? It was the only reason why I bought new mouse and I cant find the way to use it the way I used my old mouse....
is there a way to make for example button 12, a standalone button instead of being assinged to something on my keyboard? i just bought this mouse and it bothers me that the buttons on it are binded to something on my keyboard. In my previous mouse i liked that the side buttons could be assinged as mouse 4 and 5 but it was not enough for me. Then when i saw this one i thought that i could finally bind multiple things onto the buttons on the side but i can only set it to press things i aleredy have o my keyboard.
literally this! I have the old kone pure military and you can bind it to mouse 1 - 12 without any specific function in the software... I cant figure it out in this new one and it bothers me to dead, why would it be removed?---
Great review. Out of interest, does the illumination setting menu give you the option of turning off the LEDs? Maybe by changing to black, or turning the brightness all the way down? I can't find an answer on google. RGB just isn't for me, but the mouse looks perfect otherwise.
thanks for the info! i downloaded the installation of SWARM but now it's asking for a AUTO UPDATER KONE XP MODULE.. Did you get this as well and where do I download it?
Yep, and it's still a lot cheaper than some from Logitech, Razer, and others. I just had to put the preface since I usually focus on the "budget" niche.
This mouse is extremely strange to say the least, there is a LOT of rgb, the price is pretty high for a wired mouse, and there is a shift paddle??? Very strange but at least it introduces features like mouse texturing and nice rgb, but @Giorgio was right, how does the mouse not turn into a fried nugget? lol nice review though!
Fortunately surface mount LEDs don't get super hot (at least not those not used in LED bulbs and video lighting kits), so everything stays at a reasonable temperature.
How tf does this review have barely any likes? It’s honestly the best review Ive seen on this mouse so far!
Likes have been down channel wide ever since RUclips hid the dislike count. It's like most viewers don't even see the point anymore.
@@ClyFaker Oof yeah that probably explains it.. good video

And from far away with those LEDs, it looks like your mouse is glowing like a vacuum tube and I like that a lot
Liked video for actually knowing the technical idea of 4D.

Love that music on the taking off the protection stickers part lul :)
