  • The police investigation of child sex abuse on Jersey was sabotaged by the island's government. The press were bamboozled and the public have never heard the full story. Almost all the victims have been too afraid to speak out. This is the amazing story of one of the victims.
Marina Cremin was raped and physically and sexually abused for years at the Haut de la Garenne children's home. The abuse, perpetrated by members of Jersey's parliament, other adults on the island and by members of staff of the children's home, started when she arrived at the age of 5 and continued until she was moved to a special school in London in her early teens. She returned to Jersey and at 18 she was admitted to psychiatric hospital.
Marina recommends the book 'They Stole My Innocence' by Madeleine Vibert for anyone who is interested in gaining a deeper understanding of what happened to children at Haut de la Garenne.
The abuse of these very young children was completely organised by the institution and it's head. It involved groups of men coming to the children's home and staff members bringing and then collecting and sedating the children who were required to join the men in sexual activities.
Marina describes the convicted paedophile 'The Beast of Jersey'/Edward Paisnel. Mr Paisnel not only visited the home in a horrifying costume to rape the children but also came to the home dressed as their Father Christmas to distribute presents. She describes Jimmy Saville's visits, during which he would sit her and her sister on his knee. She describes the head of the children's home, Mr Tilbrook, carrying a pillow at all times to stifle the children's screams and who, after leaving Haut de la Garenne, had good enough references to take over a home for learning disabled children in Yorkshire.
It was crimes of this calibre that Graham Power and Lenny Harper, of the States of Jersey Police, lost their jobs trying to investigate. Marina describes how their replacement, Gradwell, destroyed evidence and joined the government of Jersey in covering up the crimes committed against children under their care.

Yes esp against jersey which don't like bad press as it's not good for. Buissness.. instead victimising the victims if abuse by the wealthy influential .
Senetor dick shenton was the ONLY decent man to take my letter seriously, any other disposed me and I couldn't understand why. I'd it wernt for the constant harrassment I had I realised what my problems were to so with.

In Scotland, they have ignored abuse survivors for years. In my case, over 50 years. They are now informing survivors, if the abuser is dead, we have no case in court. They are offering us £10.000 no matter how much abuse we suffered, but before they give it to you, you must sign a disclaimer agreeing not to sue the institutions or the people who assaulted you.

There must be 1000's of victims like Marina. Throughout UK and beyond this story has been repeated in children's homes. It's the greatest scandal of our time - or any time.

Jimmy saville was always in jersey & used to take a nine yr old boy to a holiday camp. He continued to go to jersey in the 80 s & prob 90s. He used a hair dressers my sister worked in . He lies as I no for certain that he was their on a regular basis
The politition who had this case looked into was harrassed so much after he had to flee to London .as u have . Yet it followed me here also.

savile was everywhere and into everything. when you find his autograph online he incorporated a £ sign and a $ sign into it. so trafficking possibly. he was friendly with diana dors and she had sex parties and covertly filmed people - bit like epstein except she offended the royal family by showing too much skin at an after show line up!

Brave, brave woman. The interview style needs refining though as was very insensitive in parts. You don't need to ask a survivor of CSA such blatant q's guys.

I totally agree, poor lady, she was questioned so directly, but she had been traumatised, and traumatised people often find it so hard to bring up old memories . . .

These evil people will never repent for the destruction they caused to these childrens lives. I pray the Heavenly Father will send them to hell. This has to stop powerful people right from the top vile evil men and women.

Brave women. Much braver than the majority of that island put together. And island with big rugby players, boxers and a huge trade sector. Yet no men to provide a guard of honour for women and victims like this. Disgusting.
It really wouldn't take much to lawfully remove these freemasons from their debauchery. And then hold some proper trials
