Not only his eyes, but also when you listen to his voice. Sexual abused children, in this case teenager, stop developing their voice, to some extend. You sometimes hear it in the sound of his voice, he talks like a teenager.

With everything we know about this kind of thing, it blows my mind that the average person still trusts the upper classes and looks down on and mistrusts the poor. It's not the homeless person in the alley that is a danger to your child! It's the judges, priests, politicians, community leaders!!! We need to start seeing this.

@@Eclipse1369 the difference is though, is that these people: politicians, judges, priests etc (people who have influence over others) are at the top of the pyramid in the power structure. Invariably, they have the entire corrupt system behind them and helping them. In contrast to pedos in the streets etc, they are either in jail, will be arrested, or simply isn't enough evidence to convict, whereas these powerful people in society can essentially do this and receive no possible repercussion or assistance to the victims of these crimes. There's something very very evil in there being absolutely no hope for victims for their assaulter's to be brought to justice, which is the case with these people at the 'top' of our society.

I go to therapy and it has helped me tremendously, I exercise every day, both of these things make me feel like I matter and they make me feel good about myself. Your story really touched me because I saw a lot of my own pain in your experience. We deserve the best in life, and the toughest things are behind us now. 🙂

I met a guy who had a very similar experience. He constantly apologises and said sorry several times every second sentence. It was so painful to see. He was so kind hearted, but so so damaged.

Some people who suffer trauma end up taking on different personalities as well, those of which are made up in their minds for many coping reasons, some made to protect them from the trauma because it's to much for their mind to take at very young ages. Studies have shown that some people in such traumatic situations never develope emotionally past the time of whatever horrific thing had happened to them, which caused such pain, so again, she is 100% correct

I think you've got the wrong definition of kindness in mind, regarding Bella Grace's post. Perhaps your post means people need to be more socially perceptive. Additionally, you have a lot of anger and distrust in you which has desensitized you from helping those in need, not the predators you seem to have come in contact with.

This is so sickening and unfair. This man could have been such a whole, successful human being, but he is irreparably broken.

What's even more sickening and unfair is how he is treated now because he came out and spoke about all of this. I'm not the type to get ouraged, but I thought it was disgusting when she asked him, "So do you admit to having prostituted yourself?" As if the day he turned 18, he suddenly got conplete agency over his life and was then able to make the conscious decision of whether or not he wanted to be a prostitute. That would be like asking a slave who was freed, "So do you admit to working on farms after you were freed?" What else did he know to do? Not only was he extremely traumatized, this was how he'd learned to survive. Ridiculous.
I am blown away! I knew Richard in Dallas, TX! I hadn't seen him since 2011. For some reason a memory of him telling me to read about this stuff and I decided to look it up again and I can't believe there is a video of him talking about it. He spoke with me a little about his experiences and what happened. We were both recovering addicts and alcoholics in a group. God I hope he is doing well now. He was a great man and a great friend! A great man!

I’ve worked in mental health for more than a decade, and I have witnessed the closest things I can describe as miracles with people in trauma treatment programs. Richard, you’re a truly brave man that should have peace and happiness-if anyone ever has, you deserve it.
