- Today we will be printing our very own custom mechanical keyboard using a recently acquired 3D printer. No one man should have all this scuffed power.

I love the way the Alt keys scrape off the case, adding a tactile feel and sound to it!
Shoobs you're wrong. You're really good at making scuffed youtube videos. Literally watch you more regularly than any show for months now.
nice board - this really shows how important the difference between materials is. You may want to look at filaments mashed with metals like brass or aluminum, you might be able to get a printed board that's pretty close to the alu bakeneko
Would it be possible to get a viable switch plate that way?
@@madmisobroth1361 definitely, but there are a couple of thing to look for - some materials like pla deform under pressure over time; switch plates can also be a bit difficult to print so make sure to calibrate stuff well. Also the quality depends a lot on the 3d printer - don't expect super reliable results with printers like ender 3 (the qc is super random, the fact that it's popular doesn't mean it isn't outdated). Good CoreXY printers like vorons or even hypercubes can do the job perfectly fine.
@@ivoszbg589 do you have any budgety 3d printers that you can suggest? I want to buy one in a couple of weeks
@@madmisobroth1361 the sunlu s8 is a pretty solid start. It's a cartesian with a 310x310 print bed. You can also get a bimetallic heat break to allow using filaments that require higher temp (the stock heat break's PTFE tube will start melting at around 250°C, bi metallic ones allow higher temps for not much cost). Later when you get more into the hobby (and save some cash) you can transform it into a voron switchwire (someone already designed the parts required for that transformation iirc). You can also instead get a clone prusa mk3 (which are pretty high quality printers, clones of it usually arent get far behind. the drawback is small-ish print bed, so you'd need to split the keyboard/plate into half and connect them with glue), tronxy x5sa (it's a big corexy, requires a bit of tightening and mods to get stable results) or a sidewinder x1/2 (300x300, right at the edge of the size you need for a 60%. Have heard pretty good stuff about its quality). Good luck and have fun!
Calibration is much more important than the 3D printer nowadays for hobbyists. Also, it's funny that the Sunlu is solid while the Ender is supposed to outdated when they're almost identical.
i didnt think the recovery build was gonna be this good, glad to have you back addict.
as a keyboard/3d printing addict, i'd kill to have a big boi printer. slicing boards in half and gluing them together just ain't the same
Was just thinking about doing exactly what you just did. 180x180mm gang lol
just join split gang
your hands will thank you
how much do you think the amount of filament would cost?
@@ako4693filament isn't very expensive tbh. Pla is dirt cheap
@@ako4693 negligible
Do a Dactyl next, would be hilarious to see you handwire a 3d printed board
You know it’s gonna be scuffed when there’s „scuffed“ in the thumbnail
Having designed multiple boards through 3D printing, I have to say it is a great way of testing designs and getting some decent sounding boards along the way
if you have made the bakeneko through 3d printing, what files would i have to download and print / what should i do?
Quite amazed with the results. Using the body of the bakeneko as a reference was a good idea as the keyboard sounds great without having to rely on foam.
5:05 I can almost smell the Sharpie *through* my computer screen here.
It surprisingly sounds not too bad! Definitely a difference in sound due to the difference in the materials used for printing it. Maybe try adding feet and possibly testing different types of filaments to get a specific desired sound. Other than that really, sounds surprisingly great!
You should try 3D printing a Boston, its open source now. Big boi board.
I would be really interested in seeing you build a Dactyl Manuform, because it takes custom parameters for your hand and generates a model.
you gotta make scuffed keycaps for the scuffed65
How did you get the whole board file? All I can find is the keyboard split into 3 pieces. Did you fuse them together in fusion or did you find a single and whole file?
might be the camera lighting but that looks like a damn clean 3d print mate.
curious to know how 3d printed plates would sound, I'd maybe be interested in a 60% iso one if they're not too expensive
New Shoobs video = hype
i swear the way the keeb always sound good shoobs is a wizard
Some sanding and paint and this would have been a $500 board
Keycaps next with embossed letters.
love the steins gate deskpad
This video was so much fun to watch! You got yourself a new sub (and maybe member)
How did you get the full case? There are only parts available. Please help
I've been elbow deep in lost ark for so long when I finally left my room, my landlord had sold my apartment to someone else ;)
Please more of this
I got a Bakeneko60 3D printed as well (SLA) and it turned out pretty good! Definitely sounds quite different from an alu case though
were did you get the stl file?
Of course Scuffed is written in Comic Sans because why wouldnt it
I'm not surprised that a printed keyboard sounds decent. I myself use a handwired split keyboard with a 3D printed case (the switches are stuck in a printed plate without a PCB). I use proper caps and lubed switches. It sounds and feels way better than anything I've used before and it certainly holds up with the stuff keyboard youtubers show off. So: it's only custom if you've printed the case yourself ;)
Handwire club rise up! I've been using my own as my daily for nearly a year now too and I love it.
Mans didn't go the whole way, could've printed the caps maybe even printed the switches partially
yes to more 3d printed stuff
0:55 i can totally agree
For a scuffed build, this sounds really good 🔥
yo do you think there is a place where u can find a bunch of open-source cases? I want to print a bunch of cases but I don't know which ones I can find that is open source? If there is a list of the most common ones that would be helpful too.
Does anyone know what kind of filament he used, cus I don’t think he mentioned
That "oh shit" before the typing test i'm dead
i can wait for the mx-scuffed keyboard to come out!!11!
Thats actually pretty deep sounding i kinda like it
i always wanna do this but i cant model it, i really want the 60% one
comic sans to top it off, beautiful
what mouse are u using, it looks like final mouse when blurred ngl
Another Shoobs masterpiece
Hey I recognize that high quality keeb content. Hello Mr gmk
How did u make the engraving?
make a scuffed keycap set on the printer dude!
that board sounded better than most boards at higher costs
0:53 I feel insulted xD
Is this spacebar flipped? I thought I have noticed it in a few other videos too.
that sounds sooooo nice
IC & GB when? I would genuinly pay for this.
Wow, that was really cool
Daym. Makes me want to buy a 3D printer too and print some cases, hurrhurr.
shit finna sound better than my kailh blues
This is scuffed at it its peak
Bro i smelled the sharpie through my screen
The 3D printed one sounds better than the alu
Dude that sounds thocky AF, way better the metal case, got to try this
what happened to the lofi lullaby ending song?!
schoobs after seeing you try a butter stick itd be perfect if you try a redox now, since you got a printer and all

Keep doing own boards, bro!
3D printed keycaps (make a scuffed keycap profile)
What are your degrees in?
5:51 surely someone else noticed the help in the bottom right corner
I personally want to know how you put together the black cherry pie switch.
Pls make video.
Any nylon jwk bottom, a cherry Mx switch top, and a nk cream stem. Any spring will do
HOLY SHIT THAT THING SOUNDS LIKE A PLANK OF WOOD
Can you leave a link for the keyboard design so viewers can print it themselves?
Not sure maybe you saw it already but he left the link to GitHub in the description
Oof, that's self burn at 1:20 just hurt
shoobs, pls discuss the superiority of topre.
please 3d print more keyboards
Hi, can you please post the flies for this 3d print, as I am even more small brain and need some help!
I know that it is available on Git from KKatano but I like the side profile and board that you have here
Ayo when new deskpad?
"As an Asian when I see big number discounts, I buy without thinking of the consequences" Lmao
Now you can actually sand it put prima on and paint it with some metallic colors that would look sick.
Sounds way too good
ily shoobs
That sounds sick! Tbh sounds better than the original one. Original is way too high pitched for my taste
Squashy did this but he printed more parts than just the case
Bro!! Can we get the stl file????
Idk know why, but when he types on the keyboards he makes, they all sound like they are slapping someone
gmk scuffed should be you next project
A board your cursed hands can’t smear??
Dactyl Manuform build incoming?
the way it sounds better than the aluminum case (opinion)
damn I really love your vids
You could fill the "SCUFFED" printed part with black resin or something
You should print keycaps next
this is for gb right
does anyone know what jwk bottom housing shoobs uses for his BCP?
I assume alpacas
@@kenji6615 Huh interesting. I was thinking H1s. Alpaca BCP are usually higher pitched. But sound tests are fake so who knows lol
The font reminds me of a kbd67 lite lol
whens the group buy???
3d printed artisan keycap!!!
shoobs i think u should print sum friends
I asked my teacher about this once and he rejected immediately
Does it taste good
Can u 3D print switches or stabs?
Nope
Hey bro, I’d buy a case from you no problem, would love some small cut outs on the side to mod and cover up with some acrylic or resin for some nice glow, and throw in a pair of my personally designed and made keycaps. If possible let me know
