- Sometimes you just gotta wonder, just because I can do something, should I really do it. This moment is one of those times, where I must say to myself, no, I really shouldn't have. Today we will build a keyboard, made completely out of foam in the pursuit of the ultimate THOCK. God, what have I done.

@@Jusvidz it was one of the most sought after 75s because of the sound but then people realized than you could achieve like 80-90% of the sound by doing the PE foam mod. And the sound gets annoying after a while, also I’m saying this as someone who owned the jelly and used it as my daily driver for 3 months.
I’m honestly baffled that it’s still selling at just under 2x the retail price on mm after all that’s happened. Even the suit which is arguably a better board, has dropped close to its retail

@@Lilyium just have a thin metal casing around an all foam interior board, the foam itself can be both the gaskets and the dampening and everything
idk why people like metal so much, i like wood more but i cant diy that with simple tools without a lot money of course u can do wood plates but its still expensive and not what i want. i use 3d printed case i made myself which is hollow but i like hollow keyboard just not hollow 3d printed case, hollow wood sounds good and hollow of a good plastic type would probably sound good too

Something you might find interesting: aluminum and steel both have similar dampening properties, however cast iron is roughly 10 times more dampening than steel. better yet composite referred to as expoxy granite is known to have significant damping properties over cast iron. People take granite and epoxy and calculate out the sizes of granite pieces to get the most packing efficiency to make ultra dampened cnc machine frames. Plz fill some keys and a keyboard with this shit, and see what it does.
It'd be a shame if this suggestion were taken for granite.

This technically a gasket-mounted keyboard, except the gaskets extend from the gasket tabs to the rest of the goddamn fucking case LMAO

I never imagine Polystyrene would disperse light so well tbh. If you could make these commercially cheap cheap, you'dd probably be onto a winner. Id actually use a foam board, doubles as a good palm rest too!!
I wonder if the outside of the foam can be covered in fiberglass or carbon fiber or bondo or epoxy. You know, anything to give it a durable and paintable finish.

whats funny about this keyboard is that I did this a few months back too because I broke the case of the stock kb I wanted to mod. Now the keyboard sounds amazing, doen't even look to bad and is really nice overall
