In the dark, for a custom keyboard with thicc keycaps that light can't shrine through, ye, rgb per key does help since you can set all different color for each key

Interesting video, but at this point, you should just build a board with Kailh Box Jades/Navys. Even with tacticle switches, this board clicks and clacks like it's being violated by orcs from Kuroinu.

Those were the days. Floating sandwich plate boards with crazy, combo MX/Alps cut outs that were expensive as hell to get laser cut. No crazy squishy mounting or insane flexi cuts.
at least now those types of sandwich boards are less expensive now, ik on cannonkeys there is the practice line which use that type of assembly

Pretty cool, industrial looking build! It really didn't sound too bad, probably because of the nice switches, it just seemed kinda loud. I wonder how much a chunk of foam under the PCB would effect the sound with it being so open and such.

Shoobs, if you added o-rings on the standoffs, could it make the typing experience more soft? Also, would the tape mod change the acoustics better? You could also just doubleside tape some foam into the bottom plate to cut down the resonance.

since youre not worried bout anything lining up because theres no middle section you could put some orings on the standoffs to make it bouncier, since metal plates are hella unforgiving on sound. it still looks really nice though. pretty similar to my first custom board actually (ymdk96) and then i realized i like per key rgb too much lol
