Probably everyone who had to play the looping bassline throughout the whole thing. Though I personally still think the chord is addicting as hell. Never gotten bored so far
Canon in D always makes me feel peace and positive. It seems like it has a kind of power to calm me down when i face anything or any difficulties in my life. Canon in D is very impressive. I love the rhythm of canon in D❤️
I’m playing at a wedding in a month, and I’ve been looking for an arrangement, and I am DEFINITELY using this. Love this. Thank you for this and everything that you are doing!
I've been asked to play the Canon and morph it into Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows for a wedding in a few weeks! This is the Canon arrangement I've been looking for! Wish me luck! :D
Finally a beautiful comprehensive arrangement. Thank you Paul Barton for enlighting us with Tomas Andersen beautiful arrangement. I always seek this beautiful piece in weddings, I finally got it. Got to get to work now, its not easy.
I like the editing choice to show two measures at a time. The bassline and each melody are two measures long; showing them each on on one screen helps to compare them all to each other and see the relationship. You mostly get complimented on your playing, but I know the editing is a lot of work too. It's appreciated~
I love this arrangement - it is so well done - I consider it to be perfect - and I appreciate that the arranger, Thomas Andersen, is sharing it for free. It is played so beautifully too. Would love to learn this piece!
I've learned this piece when I was 13 in this version. It was so calm . Now I'm 14 and I'm learning Hungarian rhapsody n 2. This video brought me back some memories
@Censored Censored I've finished it and I performed it the 8th of may. I suppose the video will be uploaded soon on RUclips by the impullitti school. However thanks for asking, have a nice day
@Censored Censored Sure, I'll try to upload it, unfortunately there are some mistakes because I studied this piece on a keyboard and the keys of the piano were really heavy. Even if so you will like it
L'arrangement que je joue est totalement différent de celui ci, c'est sympa d'en entendre d'autres! Paul Barton respecte bien l'esprit baroque en gardant toujours le même tempo mais en faisant varier le volume, belle interprétation !
For once a piano instructional video that actually presents a great demonstration playing the music, and actually gives real easy downloadable access to the music as written. Thank you, I cannot wait to learn this piece.
Perfect... Lovely one.. I felt like to cry that there were lot of great musicians in past who were dead. What were they are a alien? They were god and they will never die from our heart.. Heart to this musicians: pachelbel, mozart, beethoven, chopin, bach, Tchaikovsky
Thank you for this wonderfull and angelical playing. I feel this world as a better place for having people like this very special pianist living here and for this endless divine music once composed by Pachelbell. I am not surprised that Paul Burton is able to calm down traumatized old elephants just playing for them. I also feel rescued from my humain misery and my dayly distress as a medical doctor, just by listening to his playing. Thanks God for your life! Bless you! Regina Fernandes, Brazil.
This is definetly the best arrangement for piano i ve ever seen for this song, its like you re listening to the full orchestra with only one instrument
That was beautiful. BTW, just saw your "Moonriver for Marilee." Tak has the voice of an angel! My favorite part was "my Huckleberry friend"...touched my heart. Thank you for sharing the talents of your beautiful family.
I love this arrangement. This song is good for making gilr fall in love as it is too lovely. Thank you Sir Paul and thanks to Mr. Thomas for sharing is brilliant score! Hugs.
This particular piece of classical piano music came to my deep attention when it 1987, it was the theme music for that moving Australian television war drama series ‘Vietnam’. Still even now whenever I hear this music, it immediately reminds me of that drama, when in the mid to late 1960’s Australians (& those people in other affected nations) were conscripted into that fatal unwinnable war. Thankyou indeed Paul Barton for playing this arrangement of the original famous piece by Johann Pachelbel.
I never realised that’s also possibly where I came to love it from. I may have heard it earlier because of family classical music players and teachers but I still remember that show and how incredibly well done and moving it was. I was maybe 12? There were some amazing Aussie mini-series and movies back then. Thank you for the memories
@@zombiemeg and thankyou for your kind reply. I am pleased that the theme music from this touching drama meant something to you on the eve of you being a teenager. All the best.
Thank you very much for your sharing. I have been playing piano for many years, but anytime i listen to this melody, it always make my heart smelt. This is my childhood, Thank you !
Does anyone know why on the 4th beat of measure 15 he plays an F# with his L.H. thumb when the music says to play an A? Is the arrangement wrong there?
The best example of sight reading I've ever seen. Also extra credit for the choice, beautiful expression, and most important ... a perfectly tuned piano
Thank you, so much, for this pleasent moment... I love this piece, I've found a lot of variations of it, classical guitar, voices a capella, piano, etc, and this one captured my emotions. Thank you so much! Best regards, stay at home, take care.
@Adam Joyner I really didn’t understand your answer... but, although, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a new year of self knowledge and best moments! 😀👍🏼
Wow. Your playing is awesome. I admire it. I’m also a budding piano player started a little late. But I’ll play piano well before my late years. I love piano playing.
Funny enough I've never listened to the Canon fully before, and Maestro, your steadiness brings it all to me. P. S I a have started studying and playing Mayumi Kato Autumn Leaves, how beautiful and refreshing it has been.
So glad you are playing Mayumi's music - there is a big surprise around the corner for Mayumi fans ... "Autumn Leaves" is a beautiful composition and I'm sure you will enjoy playing it. Greetings from Thailand.
You are amazing! You gave sheet for this for free! No one has to do that, some people want money and have full right to. Despite this, you did it for us! I'll write down note about this on my print, to remember what you did, it is so rare :)
Awesome, sir 👏🏽👏🏽 This is the piece I use at work when I need to just focus and concentrate. Funny how my colleagues say, "leave him alone for a bit, he's in the zone..." when I play this...
Some of those other piano arrangements can sound a little bit busy. But this one is wonderfully calming. I like how the bowed double bass is better represented here too.
Thank you for this video and the free sheet music. I’ve recently relearned the Palmer version that I originally learned years ago in college, and was looking for a new and more challenging arrangement. This is perfect!
thanks! I read music the way a first grader does, text. So this is very helpful - I can 'hear' how the notation describes the music. Plus, always been a sucker for the ol' Tacobell Canon. Nice arrangement, too.
I am beginner to piano sight reading and while I love this song and hope to play one day, the sheet music looks so intimidating with a different chords for each note in right hand! Someday.....
I'm not a musician or even a follower of classical music, but Every time this guy start playing the piano, I start to tear up.
Who said Pachebel's Canon in D is boring? This is an absolutely beautiful and fantastic arrangement!
The cellists said that 😅
