Judge Penney Azcarate issues an order denying Amber Heard's motions to set aside the verdict or grant a new trial in the defamation case with Johnny Depp. Heard had argued the $10.35 million judgement was excessive and not supported by the evidence. Judge Azcarate also denied Heard's request for a new trial based on her "Juror 15" claims. Law&Crime's Angenette Levy and attorney Mitra Ahouraian detail what Judge Azcarate said in her order.

This. Rottenborn has done one. Radio silence. Blocked Heard and Elaine on all communication channels. (probably changed his name too) . Then there's Elaine. Prior to this an eminent professional in her field. Now, she's at ZERO credibility and is most likely costing her partnership clients and money. Time to retire, in disgrace. All because Elaine cannot believe she's been beaten in a case.
Good attorneys fight for their client. They really are just doing their job with all evidence and the entire world against them.

The perfect judge for this case. She kept a tight hold on the drama, made sure her decisions were fair for all parties and she showed patience during the entire circus.
Right? I remember at some points during the trial people were starting to think she was biased against Johnny. That’s how you know she was being fair and not “currying favor” like AH was saying the whole world was doing at the time lol

The DV industry has been doing for decades. I think that's one reason Heard lawyers were so sloppy; normally the judge and jury would just side with them because they were representing a woman.

Now, I'm no lawyer but, I'm fairly certain "I didn't like the outcome, therefor I want a do-over" is not grounds for throwing out a verdict and starting over.
This just speaks to the incredible immaturity and yet totally narcissistic personality of AH.
The added footnote by AH's lawyers stating that they know perfectly well that juror's birthdate was not grounds for setting verdict aside, but that they were appealing it anyway...For me, that basically came across as AH's lawyers saying that "Yes, we know perfectly well that we don't have a legal leg to stand on but the client we are representing is difficult and irrational so we at least have to go through the motions of exhausting every avenue. Kindly bear with us.
The more she loses, the more rejection she feels, the more she seeks vindication only to lose again. It's a spiral that never ends.

This was a desperate attempt and the defense knew it. It seems incomprehensible if not for the fact that the insurance companies are suing AH now that malice has been proven. The money is about to dry up and they're in panic mode.
Thank God that justice continues to prevail. Amber Heard should feel blessed that she is not facing perjury charges and charges for filing at least one false police report! This trial should be examined for the sole purpose of making cases for both of the above mentioned charges. Amber needs to STOP.

Men, do not hesitate for one moment to place a court-issued restraining order against your female partner if you feel your safety and health is in jeopardy. Placing a permanent restraining order on my female partner was absolutely the wisest protective move of my adult lifetime. My only regret is not doing it years earlier. Men, be safe!

They will try anything, although we were not surprised after all the lies thrown around in court. As for the judge, she has been wonderful, extremely patient, good tempered and impartial.

The juror 15 had no clue who’s case he’d be called on. He also went through the questioning by both sides during jury selection. Still not knowing at the time who the defendant and opposing side people were, other than the lawyers.
Once chosen would be the only time juror 15 would have been told the details on the case. So to assume the younger of the two in the household switched on purpose is ludicrous. Especially, since we now know the birthdays were not listed.
It was nonsense, hence why it was quickly dismissed. They tried to say it was an unfair trial because of social media, that failed. This was just the next cheap trick and it didn't work. I think Elaine and Amber thought this would go the way of the U.K trial but that was a totally different case under a different legal system.
Also someone born in 1945 would be 77 years during the trial.
Is there no upper limit of age? Not only is it hard to sit through such long hours of hearing at that age, but a lot of people have cognitive impairments
@@subhajitdeysarkar9724 I think people over 70 can ask to opt out and those with impairments can ask too if supported by a doctors letter.
On a case that cost 7 million to defend, you can bet AH's team had jury experts to pick the jurors. They would have told AHs team about the son coming not the father b/c jury consultants check out EVERYTHING about a potential juror
It was a ridiculous request. Amber & Elaine were grasping at straws. Her appeal will be denied as well. She doesn't have a leg to stand on.
I sincerely hope that Elaine stays safe while AH gets this pressure, insurance pressure, legal fees pressure, appeal pressure, Australia pressure AND being a mother is piled so high. Elaine may be many annoying things but she does not deserve AH taking it all out on her, or god-forbid actually snapping altogether.

AH’s attorney should be examined by the Ethics Committee of the Bar. Bringing frivolous motions can be grounds for disciplinary action.
She's making things worse. Take accountability, get help, heal, brush yourself off and pick up the pieces.
JD’s attorneys response to the motion was incredible! Simply destroyed, in three short paragraphs (one would have been sufficient), the motions put before the court. JD absolutely got his money’s worth on this one!

In some jurisdictions, a judge HAS to put "This Order is final" not because they are sick and tired of the case, but because that makes it an appealable order. If an order only partially resolves an issue, or if another order is to follow later for some reason, then it is not final and cannot be appealed. So the judge in this case could be complying with text requirements for final and appealable orders as opposed to implying that she is sick and tired of the case, as was mentioned in the video.

What was really wrong was that her team made it sound like this juror committed fraud, when records show that he gave the court his true birthdate on forms, etc. and not his father's. Even with their law degrees, they failed to see that THEY vetted this juror and interviewed him for a whole day and deemed him acceptable to serve. They waived their right.

I recently watched a psychiatrist going into more details about AH’s diagnosis.From what I can understand, I don’t think anyone can believe what AH says since her disorder causes her perception to be warped. Get some help AH. this disorder is horrible for you and the people around you and trying to prove your perception will not help you.

Through talking therapies when the person is open to this and positive risk management approaches when they aren’t, you can Show how the maladaptive coping mechanisms people develop to manipulate those around them are less effective than more social ways of creating and maintaining relationships! Never giving up and also not responding to the anti social behaviours in ways that reinforce fears of abandonment, can help those effected build positive relationships. It’s not easy, it doesn’t go away completely but people can end up leading more fulfilled lives….
