    I've encountered about 4 stripped bolts before and I've removed all of them the same way. I used a TORX head screw driver that fits just enough in the stripped screw head. I attached it to a power tool and set it to reverse to remove the screw. Sometimes, this will make a bigger stripped whole which is completely fine. You move on to a LARGER TORX head screw bit and attached it for a snug fit. Keep trying and you'll get it out. apply A LOT of pressure downwards when you remove with power tool

    I cut the horn wire that was wired into the original stock steering wheel. I took a paper clip and connected the wire that I cut to it. I bent the wire and use the screw to secure it in place behind the steering hub so that the paper clip is always touching the metal surface on the back of my aftermarket hub. I connect all the wires on the steering hub, quick release adapter, and steering wheel and it works. It should be easy to do.

    for anyone with airbag light on a 92-95 civic you can bypass the srs light by adding a ( 2.2 Ohm 1/4 or 1/2w 5% resistor) while the car is off, install it between pins 1 and 3 on the yellow srs connector, the pins are labeled 1-6, after you install the resistor reset your srs light, youtube has a video tutorial for the EG civic, once you do that, it should be gone, you could try to reset it without a resistor but it will come back on eventually, Also, pin #6 on the yellow srs connector is for the horn, this only works for the eg civic 92-95 not sure if its the same for integras or not,

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    I know but I think putting two steering wheel clubs top and bottom of your steering wheel is a better protection because any thief can just put on a new steering or unscrew the aftermarket hub and use their own hub and steering wheel. It will take much longer to remove the 2 wheel clubs than to replace a new steering wheel on a quick release setup.

    @Ralph Miranda there are sliders on this seat. The offficials at the race track told me i had to sit this close to the wheel. I just dont bother adjusting it on normal driving

    You have to use an AFTERMARKET hub but it doesn't have to be a SHORT one, it can be the regular longer one.

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    eBay is probably the best place to look because it has the most variety. It has fake stuff, cheap stuff, real stuff, rare stuff, etc. just pay attention to seller feedback, item description, and price.

  • @MichaelFlare

  • @dinsomnia15

    Seat sliders would've been a lot cheaper than buying the steering wheel and all the accessories that came with it.
    Nobody NEEDS an aftermarket steering wheel, they just want one, just like you.
    Hell, I want one.

    • @MichaelFlare
      @MichaelFlare  10 лет назад

      Sliders is not cheap. Also, I NEED the quick release. Understand why quick release steering wheels why these were invented in the first place and you'll understand. I have to sit really close to the wheel because I cannot press down on the clutch pedal firmly unless the seat is forward enough. However, when the seat is this close, it is difficult for me to get in and out of the car without removing the wheel each time (the reason why these were invented in the first place).

    A quick release is not necessary unless your car has seats that are bucket and very close to the steering wheel and you can't get in and out because of the space. This is the case for most racecars. Also, it I think its possible mix brands as long as the bolt pattern on the hub and quick release matches.

    I think it has to be a 2.2 ohm resistor but yea installed my quick release set up and made the horn work it was pretty easy just used electrical wire and a piece of metal and it works

    The cheap eBay hub I had before seems really fragile. The material seems really weak especially the metal part where it makes contact with the splines. Also, it didn't have grooves behind the hub that connect to the turn signal canceling mechanism so I had to move the signal stick back every time. I made my own grooves but it eventually broke off. Here was no play that I was aware of for the hub itself.

    The NRG quick release is $130. The NRG hub is $80. The NRG steering wheel is $120.

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    LOL. People always ask me that. I like how the stock cluster looks very stock with the interior and the dash. The Type R cluster stands out too much, it doesn't look as simple as this one.

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    yeah that's really good because that stuff should all cost about $460. Just make sure all those parts are real though, especially the quick release adapter. The fake ones don't say NRG on it.

    Look up tutorials on how to install the horn button on google or something. There about 3 different tutorials for the exact Civic too. It tell you which wire to cut from the gray connector. I think it was the middle wire.

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    No. Some cars use different spline count on the hub to the car. Find the specific hub for your car.

  • @MichaelFlare

    I removed the plug for the SRS light behind the cluster. There's no point in leaving it plugged in because the SRS system will not work anymore.

    The ring button that I show to the camera at 2:53? That ring is used to hold the Horn button in place. If you don't want to have a horn button on your steering wheel, then you don't have to put it on.

    Hey Michael, good vids I have watched a few, and also own a EK myself. The more I am doing stuff to it, the more the value is going up and the higher it is becoming with attracting attention, and attracting attention to the wrong people is just gonna happen and when that time comes I want to be prepared, so I was wondering what alarm system do you have? You probably answered this question before in a past video but I was looking through some and didn't see any comments mentioning it, so if you wouldn't mind I would greatly appreciate it!

    I removed the bulb. Can you believe it? 3 years ago, I went to the Honda dealership because I had a SRS light. I read somewhere that it comes on 10 years after the car's production for like a safety thing or something. I took it there and they inspected it for $110 and the light went away. When I made this video, I had to remove the SRS bulb. What a waste of $110. LOL!

    LOL. Did you listen to the video carefully? I used to have a cheap eBay no brand steering wheel kit and it was extremely dangerous. It popped off and the steering wheel was ALWAYS loose on the quick release and hub. It was never a secure fit. That's why my sister got me the NRG kit. I recommend the NRG kit because NRG is probably the most affordable good quality brand out there.

    eBay. Make sure you buy the NRG one, not the no-brand named ones. Also, look at seller feedback, rating, and reviews. Read item description carefully too.

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    Go on eBay or go to the official NRG website. I prefer eBay because you save about $10. Make sure you read item description, look at seller rating/reviews, and look at prices.

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    Get MOST of your stuff on eBay. eBay is one of the best sources to get all of your used, diverse, authentic, or fake products. For the NRG parts, the short hub alone should cost somewhere around $80. Quick Release adapter is about $120. The Steering wheel is at least $120. If any of those things are significantly cheaper, than it's probably not authentic and just a replica of NRG UNLESS the item is used. Read item description carefully and seller feedback. Do this to all your items in the future

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    You won't be able to isolate the airbag to ONLY work on passenger side like that. You have to understand how a SRS works. IF ANYTHING is wrong with the airbag system, it shuts off the ENTIRE unit through the whole car for SAFETY. This prevents airbags from deploying randomly on accident. The system is ALL OR NOTHING. If one thing doesn't work, the entire system won't work. I hope this makes sense. I got my thin side moldings from a friend's crashed EK for $100. These things go for $300 no joke!

  • @MichaelFlare
    @MichaelFlare  11 лет назад

    The hub is not universal. It has to be he right fitment for your car. The quick release adapter is universal though.

    Hey Michael I have some questions. I recently bought a nrg quick release and I put it in watching your video. My questions are, how did you get the srs light to turn off? Second, when you took off the airbag and steering wheel, what wires from the stock steering wheel did you leave on so you can hook up the horn?
