    Thanks for this excellent channel.

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  2 года назад

      Wow, delighted to see your comment. For fast growing leafy vegetables I prefer to use liquid fertilizer for its quick effect. If you will harvest for a long period, dry organic fertilizer works too. For green crops, blood meal is a great choice. I hope this answers your question and thank you so much for your support!😊🙌

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  2 года назад +3

      I had them in a location with about 6 hours of sun. Kale can do well in anything between 4 to 8 hours of sun. The good thing about planters is that you can move them around so plants get the best sunlight. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!

    • @TowardGarden

      So glad you enjoyed the videos. You can lightly firm seeds in place but avoid making soil packed. This will make it easy for roots to develop and also when you water, the soil will get compact as required. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!

    • @TowardGarden

      It depends if you have room to grow extra seedlings. I usually have enough seedlings and with my limited garden space, I just toss them in my salad or compost them. Kale seedlings will be fine if you replant them in another container. It is totally up to you. I hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!😊

    Is there a benefit of planting seedlings versus direct sowing seeds into containers/grow bags?

    • @TowardGarden
      @TowardGarden  Год назад +2

      I prefer to start my seeds in a controlled media with no nutrients or soil fungi. This is to make sure disease like "damping off" don't effect seeds/seedlings. I suggest to sow few extra seeds in different media so if some don't germinate ,you don't miss your growing season. But direct sowing is definetely doable too. Happy growing and thank you for visiting.

      I make my own soil mix and you can find the detail on how I do that here: ruclips.net/video/Xdi9kwEA_X0/видео.htmlsi=QvQjcCSPXnJIK1O5 . But if you want to use a bagged mix, general purpose potting soil available in garden centers will do the job too www.homedepot.com/p/Kellogg-Garden-Organics-1-5-cu-ft-Patio-Plus-Premium-Outdoor-Organic-Potting-Mix-681/100160888 . • @TowardGarden

      Since kale is a cold crop, I usually don't have much problem with bugs. I check the leaves daily and if I see any signs of pest, and depending on the type, I use neem oil mix or spinosad mix which both are organic. If you don't want to use any sprays, covering them with garden netting is a great option too. Hope this answers your question and thanks for visiting.
