My perspective is that do not apply common sense in the matter of common beliefs like you have discussed three anecdotes of inter-caste marriage , cut hair for boys & grow hair for girls . Likewise there are many traditional and common stereotypes that people are just blindly following. So stop, contemplate and then conceive your sense of what is right or what is wrong.
Even I don't apply the common sense which everyone tells me to apply. I always try to do what I feel is right whether it appeases others or not. Thank you for your valuable experience sir❤️❤️
I remember the famous quote of great scientist Albert Einstein that " the whole of the science is nothing more than the refinement of everyday thinking ... Common sense is so common , you can easily find it but a simple sense is not as simple as a name , it find rarely .
I strongly believe two brain is better than one. So common sense works most of the time compare to your sense because I see in common sense lots of experience involved. Listening to parents is not wrong if makes sense. In your all three examples you showed rebellious nature against parents, society. Its personal choice. We all do in our life time specially when we are teen or early 30..later we learn our lessons. Taking risk in quitting decent paid job is challenging so again its personal.
This is my perspective.... More that common sense, you need to base your decisions upon careful analysis. Your first two examples, yes it is understandable and you made your choice based on analysis. For the third example, I would consider these aspects. It is not about men having short hair and women having long hair. I would see maintaining a long hair like this - Shampooing it and washing it and drying it and maintaining it in this era of pollution is going to time consuming. I would rather spend time on developing my skill sets or making a contribution towards others or spending time with loved ones. I would hence keep a short hair.
Common sense is not a gift,it's a punishment.Because you have to deal with everyone's perspective except yours.Always have your own reason and sense,never follow the common sense and get misguided...lovely video Sir.

Sir I guess only place the common sense applies is only on my chemistry classes where reaction are pre defined To be honest I didn't know that common sense had more meaning in life ... I never asked the question why to cut my hair as I liked cutting my hair in my childhood ... When I grew up and now I wish to grow hair instead of my family using the word common sense they say one day if you grow too much hair people will get confused if that person is male or female and also it won't look nice ... I am waiting now for my beard to grow so that I can grow my hair like inspiration my school guitarist
