Today, we’ll be discussing the first DICE Star Wars Battlefront (2015), and discussing the many things it did BETTER than Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017). Star Wars Battlefront (2015) was filled with SO many excellent things, from an incredible Star Wars blaster variety, GREAT post-launch content which included the Bespin DLC, the Outer Rim Expansion, the Death Star Expansion, and the Rogue One: Scariff DLC! Star Wars Battlefront 2015 also had a handful of heroes many of us truly miss, including Jyn Erso, Director Orson Krennic, Greedo, Dengar and Nien Nunb!

Hey loved the video and I loved your other video on the old Batllefront, made me very nostalgic and captured how I felt playing those games almost exactly. Anyways one thing I think you missed was is how much more OP, or just powered the heroes were in Battlefront 2015, maybe not in terms of length but in terms of tanking and just taking out many people at once they had the upper hand, and with killstreaks too at least for me. This made getting the hero and being the hero much more exciting (neglecting how it effected the others non hero players). It's debatable Battlefront 2 has a better system that's better for the game but the first system was just downright more fun.
You forgot how Vader could block while choking!! I believe you mentioned it with the last "How to Vader"
Honestly the worst maps on battlefront 2 are usually at night
What was also better was the loading screens lol! I loved seeing the map we are going to get to play on rather than the same planets in space over and over again! I also loved that Battlefront 2015 had more maps and less planets!! Battlefront 2 has more planets but less maps and pretty much just 1 map per planet which is extremely disappointing and sucks!!!
i really liked the bodyguard system in battlefront 2015 spawning in as a shock trooper with your buddy as palpatine was really badass

The first one had maps where they physically went to each real life location from the movie and did photorealistic techniques to put it in the game. So unlike bf2 whose maps are like any other shooter and just kinda theme related, all those maps from bf2015 were literally like you were in the movie itself. So well thought out too

like... we're talking prequel planets here for a majority of the maps that have come out in BFII there were no real life counterparts to do that. They had to design entirely based off small moments in movies and cartoons like come on of course the map design is gonna be different and feel different as a result why would you raise your expectations to that kind of standard?
@@SadboiShinobi22 that's literally the point as to why the first games maps feel better than bf2 BUD. no one is raising any standards, just making a point. Different techniques used in different games results in a different feel between the two.
Honestly I prefer the visual effects and sound design in every area of 2015, especially Jakku; the sense of scale when the Super Star Destroyer crashes and explodes is simply incredible, Battlefront 2 Jakku is just horrendous

I liked how you could see immediately whether the lobby was empty, before loading in to the game. Then you had the option to back out early or wait for it to fill up. I've lost count of the amount of times, in BF2, I've sat through the long loading screen only to land in a empty lobby.
Also I'd love to see all the 2015 Walker Assault maps as OT capital supremacy maps. They would be perfect.

One thing that I wish was similar in Battlefront 2 is that the heroes from the first game were VERY powerful and you could feel that, but in this newer game if you run into a specialist in a bad situation, you are practically dead. Running around as Luke in the first game felt like you WERE Luke and now it just feels like I'm some Jedi roaming around with a light saber.

I think part of this was the added rarity of getting them in walker assault, it really felt special when you got one (not saying that system was better though). I agree with you that they also felt more powerful though, whether you were playing against one or as one.
The unfortunate price to pay for heroes being far more common and accessible to folks is that they have to be far worse.
I didn't appreciate the token system until around 2016 but the alternative systems just suck imo and I'd love the token system to return
I remember just being a rebel and seeing dearth Vader would just scare me and usually meant It was inevitable that I was going to die but I liked that since that should be the effect death Vader has on people
Some of the game modes in 2015 like cargo or walker assault were so fun
I know right? Just the feeling of running around on Hoth, hearing the sounds of the walkers and explosions in the background, and A-wings and TIE Fighters flying overhead was simply amazing.

We really do need these with special quotes between some characters like Rey vs Kylo, Dooku vs Anakin, Maul vs Obi Wan, Luke vs Vader and even Yoda vs Dooku.
I miss the gun variety as well, especially the EE-3. Is there anything in Battlefront 2 that is similar?
Boba fett's ee3 but it doesn't fire that fast, actually really slow. Maybe the 3rd weapon of the sniper class with the burst mode on but it isn't really like it. Kinda dissapointing.

Denis branvele made up a excuse saying that we have been asking for new weapons but he also said that he has already done this by bringing in New hero's and reinforcements but he also says that us saying that we haven't gotten any new weapons isn't true but he is also pretending like he's confused on what we want, when knows damn well that we want more blasters for the classes
the character customization really springs to mind, I really miss all those heads they offered in the 2015 version
The Rogue one maps were some of my favorite maps made, I could replay it like it was nuketown over and over it looked so nice too.

You forgot:
- 1 Hero per side.
- Power Up weapons for troops.
- Walker Assault.
- No Class system limiting play style choice.
- Star Card Load Outs for troops.
- All the OT Heroes not in BF2.

Blend the class system with the star card system so you get variety like the classes have weapons restrictions but the cards are free game or something like that because if I can play a tanky Heavy armed with the revolver using healing nades and the bullet based sniper with a jetpack that would be dope

I feel like it’s smoother than 2, 2 randomly lags and has weird visual glitches
on top of that, 2 just feels sluggish to me, like everything's happening a second or two after I press the button, especially as lightsaber heroes, like you get locked in a combo and can't stop to dodge or block

RustyWoud Now DICE have a reference as to how IG moves (Mandalorian) as before he’s only ever been static I think it will give them a spark to create him. Personally I would love the see all the bounty hunters from ESB Zuckuss & 4-Lom
That would be awesome. It would be cool if one of the abilities would allow IG to target enemies around him and shoot at them, regardless of his position. I would also like them to try and tackle a passive and permanent 360 vision or awareness somehow. Make something really unique.
I think the best part about the battlefront series is that you can go back to both and play each for their differences. It keeps both somewhat relevant.
I had more continuous fun with Battlefront 2015 than I ever have with Battlefront 2 2017. The authenticity and attention to detail was profound, and I doubt can ever be repeated. It was a project of love.
I also liked that it was different than the originals and you could make ur own class. Sadly peoppe complained so they changed it back in 2017 to the originals

The BlueBomber better map rotation. Not variety. Bf2 has like 15 GA maps but u always end up on kashykk, starkillerbase, kamino.
Million Michael exactly I just don’t know why bf2 or battlefront don’t have server browser. They should also just have a dedicated conquest mode without hero’s just reg troops and reinforcements and vehicles like the og battlefront.
I think one of the reasons for that is because of the hero variety and the how different the guns look on either side. you could be in the trenches on hoth trying to pick of rebel stragglers with your rifle from miles of while your AT-AT stomps behind you then all of a sudden hear "I'M ComINg FoR yOU" and a bioncle out of hell fucking scuttles past you on all fours like he's looking for beans. that and the fact the guns you can have for both light and dark don't feel appropriate, especially when I have a EL-16 while i'm a clanker.
imo the battlefront 1 maps didnt feel like like 3 lane basic fps maps they genuinly felt unique unlike most battlefront 2 ga/cs maps in most battlefront 2 maps it feels like I always push up the same line and camp the same spots but it didnt really feel like that in bf1 it felt like there were multiple ways to push a objective etc dont get me wrong batlefront 2 is my favorite game and has been for the past like year and a half and ive played it since its launch and the game still isnt even close to old for me but I still feel like bf1 maps were more starwarsie
Exactly! You also weren't forced to suddenly stop flying or using a vehicle and grenade spam was way less annoying.
Its cause for the first one they painstakingly went to each real life location where the movie was filmed and used photo realistic techniques to bring it to life like they would in the movie. So more or less you are literally playing in the same ground and rocks as the real actors traversed. Because of this every map was super unique and that's why even though the game dropped with only 4 maps it really wasn't the worst thing that could have happened. Bf2 is so generic in map design it feels like any other battlefield or call of duty maps. Not that they arent made well but they did not show the same love or care for that game as they did for the first

Star wars 2015 felt way more like starwars
Its biggest problem is BOSSK. Literally every match was bossk. Then I would hunt him 2-4 times on average just to have him be right back
To be fair, most of the heros could be op if you played them right. Landos power blast could destroy a villain, particularly if he timed it just right and caught them with a disruption too.
Bossk as you said, is a menace.
Chewie, if you charged his blaster and used his roar for more armor, could destroy any other villain however.
Boba could also be an absolute tricky menace, making himself uncatchable and dealing damage from a long distance.
Most Luke players aren't very good, but I've met really good ones who either use his force push or dash to do quick damage, then rush away before they can be hit.
Han didn't have very much good defense, but if he caught you unawares with his rapid fire and lucky shot, you would be destroyed.
Palpatine was great at close ranges, especially if the person playing him knew how to stay out of the line of fire.
Dengar was unmatched in hallways and tight, medium distance spaces for doing quick damage.
Nein numb was honestly kind of similar to how bossk is in bf 2, with long distance sniper build, and a turret. If you didn't get behind cover quickly he could take off your health pretty quick, and he could call in orbital strikes in large modes.
Jyn wasn't the best player overall, but her sonic imploder was a fabulous counter to bossks thermal vision, and could absolutely blind him for 10+ seconds.
I think chewie, bossk, and Lando were the most powerful, it just depended on who was playing them.
Luke, boba,Han, and Palpatine were the next best, where they could get destroyed but could definitely turn the tide of a game if played properly
THE GUNPLAY! Don’t forget how much better the gunplay is in BF 2015!
The velocity of the blaster bolts is way faster.
The blasters themself are more accurate.
The blasters “cone of fire” stays tighter for a longer amount of time.
The time to kill is also way better in the first game, a skilled player could take on 3 sometimes 4 players in a single engagement because it only took a few shots to drop someone where as in the sequel, it takes forever to kill people at any distance past 15 yards.
I remember being able to kill people across the map with the RT-97C by tapping the trigger because the gun stayed accurate.
Oh and a last point, the “Heavy Blasters” actually fit the description. You could lay down heavy, accurate, and DEADLY fire with the DLT-19/RT-97C at a long distance and be very effective. In the sequel, every single “heavy blaster” is more or less worthless past 30 yards because they are too inaccurate and do not enough damage at range, which is ironic of course because the description of the Heavy class says they can lay down accurate and deadly fire at a distance lol.
The TTK and Gunplay are the biggest things I miss in the current Battlefront and it’s upsetting because I know it’ll never be changed.
Spittin facts. BF2 weapons are soo inconsistent and frustrating to get kills with in my opinion, glad to know that I’m not the only one with this opinion.
TheGarbage Man it’s actually shocking that none of the major content creators for this game have mentioned this. It’s been over two years and I haven’t seen a single video about this topic/issue which is ironic because within minutes of playing the beta I noticed the difference.
@@unendingitch4118 I like bf 2015 more aswell because of the higher skill gap and the roll mechanic. If bf2 had bf2015s mechanics it would be a much better game.

I stopped playing BF2 in the first month of release. It wasn’t because of the controversy which I was at the time completely oblivious to something about the game just didn’t immerse me in the Star Wars universe quite like BF 2015 did
then you are a fool. I stopped playing BF 2015 in like 1 week cuz it was so bad. I went and played BFII original until BFII new came out, which was not that great at launch but still a lot of fun, then i picked it up again and it is one of my favorite games.
The Cross Era gameplay probably ruined your immersion and I don't blame you.

@Yoda I think it's ok seeing Boba in Felucia tbh, even the old Battlefront games had some of these like Grievous on the Tantive IV or Han Solo on Kamino.
Battlefront 1 was way cooler with its small scale maps. I loved how the devs made some really unique maps (especially the Offline maps) and didn’t just recycle portions of their Large Scale Maps for their small scale gamemodes. (The only exception I can think of being Twilight On Hoth, where the small scale maps were just segments of the Large Scale Walker Assault/Supremacy map. But even then, Droid Run, Drop Zone, And Blast all changed the flow of the map by having the battle set during the day, and not in the middle of the night, like the WA/Supr., Fighter Squadron, And HvV version’s.)
I would absolutely love to see Dice make more unique Small Scale Maps for gamemodes like Blast, Strike, And HvV. Maps like Naboo Hangar And Kashyyyk Platforms are great examples of that.
Or hell, even just having Dice port the currently existing small scale versions of the maps to the other gamemodes, making all of them available in any gamemode, would be incredible. Like, imagine being able to have a Lightsaber duel in the streets of Naboo on the Strike map, or being able to plant a charge on Padmè’s ship and have to defend it from the Clones in Strike?
Same thing goes for the OT maps too.
Dice should just port over some of the iconic maps like the Hoth Rebel Hangar And Ice Caves, or the Tatooine Rebel Depot And Jawa Refuge, or the Endor Imperial Bunker And Swamp Crash Site, or all of the Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star 1, and Scarif Maps.
Deacon Poole small scale only worked cuz everyone had a jet pack. Could u imagine 2015 BF Jakku without a jet pack? It would be awful

@@Hublbupf - Probably because there is no cross era gameplay in SWBF 2015 & more blasters to choose from. Cross Era gameplay ruins my immersion and I no longer play Galactic Assault in SWBFII because of it, I only play HVV, CO-OP & CS in Battlefront II.

I don't know how or why DICE made some of the decisions they have, Battlefront 2015 was honestly a lot of fun the visuals were much better, the audio was great and overall it was a good game. Battlefront 2 is just, a lot of wasted potential.
Battlefront 1 was a game that was empty on release and costed another $60 to actually get the good content. Battlefront 2 is superior in my opinion.
@@squeaks5677 I reject your hypothesis. Basically, Battlefront 2 at start was unplayable, because of terrible micro transactions system. What's more, it didn't even have much content at start. Whereas on the other hand, Battlefront 1 was completely playable and fun since the day one. Yes, the dlc were a bit expensive, but they were actually great and totally worth the money. I actually enjoy Battlefront 2015 more, I still play it today. While I rarely play Battlefront 2, because it's so boring and the gameplay does not have a star wars feel at all.

Battlefront 2015 was so good. The art direction and general feel of the game felt more like Star Wars than 2017, of that makes any sense. I can’t quite put my finger on it. It just felt, right
I think I know what it is. BF2 is loaded with cinematic shit like chromatic aberration and lens distortion. Plus the color palettes of BF2 were shit. BF 2015 colors just felt right, BF2 looks washed out.
The biggest thing about Battlefront 2015 Im glad is gone is everyone havinf a jump pack, that was ridiculous
Sheamus Catuli true. But I think all blasters from bf1 should be added to two. Also think the default class weapons should be separated and available for every era with different stats and mods. That adds 3 extra guns per class which is huge. Also, ROGUE ONE!!!

@@ethanh9706 The game's meta was basically Rocket Pack, Pulse Rifle , and Personal Shield. Rocket Pack players would so stunt kills by doing 360+ spins or melee hit land on you.
I always had fun getting OHK Guided Missile kills on jumppack users just after they would land. It was funny seeing the missile lock on and they couldn't rocket away.

Just have Scariff in the new one. Rogue One is my favorite Disney Star Wars movie, and it perfectly fitted the Battlefront 2015 aesthetic, wich has a much better Star Wars feel then the new one. That is something I think we need in the new game

It looked more like film. The lighting in the second games feels like it was shot on an iPhone.
Best part from BF(2015) was that mode from the Scariff DLC. I forget the name but it was the one where the opening was a starfighter section with U-wings then you landed and had an objective based land combat section. That mode was fun as hell.
Also- You’re definitely right on the Vader being able to choke while blocking in ‘15, wish BF 2 heroes vs villains had that.
1. Heros in battlefront 2015 are a lot better, because there was no star cards and overall the heros were more powerful.
2. Battlefrint 2015 maps have linear objectives, but the maps are non linear and all have a unique feel.
It would be amazing if they added maps from Battlefront 2015 Into Battlefront 2. Both the bigger and smaller maps. Good memories!

I miss footprints... Watch your Jakuu footage in this vid and notice how you leave footprints in the sand. These don't exist in BF2... The only exception is Crait, where footprints are left in the salt flats. For some reason, there are a lot of very minor graphic downgrades like this in BF2.
I really miss the blaster variety. Especially the bo rifle and jyn ersos and krennicks blaster.

First difference I noticed was that I didn't leave prints in the snow on Hoth in Battlefront 2. That was something I found so immersive in the first game and I remember being so impressed with seeing my footsteps in the snow for the first time.

Bf2015 HUD is so clean and classic. The sound ups the emersion factor as do the maps, the camera angle in 3rd. 2015 packed a huge nostalgic punch that BF2 doesn't come close to.
I believe the movement of the Heroes in Battlefront 1 is way better then in Battlefront 2

I know lots of people have nostalgia for BF2015, but I didn't try it until after I'd played some BF2. So my first experience of BF2015 was "Why does _everyone_ here have a jetpack???"
Bespin in BF2015 was the best map visually and had the best game modes. We need hero hunt and new game modes
I think the main reason hero intros were removed is due to how often heroes are available now, if there were intros there would be one every minute
New weapons are desperately needed!
Weapon varieties, lots of skins, heroes villains don’t regenerate health, anyone can play as a hero villain by finding the token not just the good players who makes the most points.
Walker assault was my favorite game mode and it wasn’t put into BF2 :(

One of the things I love about battlefront 2015 is the diversity of the maps. There is more than one for each planet. I feel like a lot of people would enjoy playin on Kashyyyk, Naboo, Tatooine and even Jakku if they had more than one map. For example, putting the eastern swamps from naboo would be great. They could include a gungan sacred site, Dr Vindu's lab, even a small gungan village. Jundland wastes for tatooine, and something deeper inland for Kashyyyk.
I also have no problem with a smaller variety of blasters in battlefront 2. However, if DICE could make them era specific, it would be way better. For example, clones only getting Republic weapons, or even borrowing droid weapons. I think there is nothing more annoying than seeing a battle droid carrying a first order heavy blaster
I honestly just want a battlefront 3, I love this serious despite its bad points but battlefront 2s updates have stopped impressing me, not a single new weapon or imperial armor just new heroes, or skins for clones, rarely a map I want improvements not just new content 😭 I mean I literally have 20 something clone skins, too many to ever use all yet I can't even be a shadow trooper, just a blacked out version of a storm trooper, I love the game and play it daily but the content sucks, its all about clone wars with no love for any game mode but capital supremacy and the clones armors, hopefully this changes soon or a new game is announced because I'm craving some actual content that isn't just more clone wars and maybe some actual visual upgrades or weaponry
Jack Carroll I don’t think there needs to be a third battlefront but just a lot more upgrades like you said including more game modes and skins. I think that will make bf 2 the ultimate battlefront game

I think a third game would be a terrible idea right now. Imagine all the problems that we had with 1 and 2 happening once again when the 3rd released. The nostalgia trip would go for the 1st and the 2nd games, player bases would be split once again in just 2 years after the release, with maps and gamemodes remade.
I seriously am thinking about downloading BF 2015 right now to cope with the lack of content in BF2, but I'm reluctant for the low player base in PC, which completely murders a online game like Battlefront.
Imagine this happening to BF2 if the third released? Would be devastating IMO.
I miss the open map design. BF2 constantly forces you into CQC where it becomes a nade, sentry, and hero ability spam fest, where the faulty hero combat really shines. Having wide open maps allows for better gun play and less constant respawning

I personally prefer 2015s character system. The ability to costuming and make your load out what you want, and how versatile you want it. Instead of being locked to certain gadgets and weapons.
I have to heartily agree that the blasters were just better in BF1. All aspects. They looked better, they sounded way better, they just feel FAR more like Star Wars blasters than in BF2.

My biggest problem with 2 is that like 60% of people on the maps are either hero’s, special troops, tanks, or fighters. It just feels like it’s not as organic. The point of the battlefront games were to put you as a standard troop in the world of Star Wars but battlefront 2 just makes it feel like it’s a weird mosh pit of prequel, OT, and sequel characters fighting alongside unbalanced vehicles and specials.
The gameplay just felt better. I love the clone wars content in 2 but I cannot get into it at all because of how clunky it feels.

There are two things for me that makes me hold Battlefront 2015 in higher regard compared to the sequel. First, nostalgia. This was one of the first games I played on my new Xbox Christmas of 2015. The second, is the maps and overall atmosphere. I don’t know how to explain it, but the maps in Walker Assault actually felt like battlefields, while the maps in BF2 feel like settings for a video game. It might be due to the fact that BF1 maps are more open, or some other factor such as overall visual design, but I just prefer the way they look in the 2015 game and it made the game way more enjoyable to me.

I feel like Dice faced the same thing that Game Freak also (apparently) did for Pokemon. Having less assets in the game allowed them to focus and maximize what they already had. Since they only had the OT to work with, they had a decent customization on release, maps that were very well thought-out, love put into the gameplay and sound design, etc.
I just found battlefront 2015 way more fun
Hutt contracts were a good addition. A good way to unlock new content like the blasters. Guess you need to have blasters to unlock in order for this to work which we don't 😥
