Today, we'll be revisiting the original DICE Battlefront, Star Wars Battlefront (2015). When the game first released in late 2015, many felt the game was lacking in content, barren, and not living up to the original Pandemic Battlefront series. However, throughout the game's life cycle I made some of my best gaming memories on Star Wars Battlefront (2015). From the Battlefront DLC the Outer Rim (which brought along new heroes Nien Nunb and Greedo), to Bespin (Lando Calrissian and Dengar), to the Death Star (Chewbacca and Bossk), all the way to Rogue One: Scarif (Jyn Erso and Director Krennic), Star Wars Battlefront 2015 was FILLED with incredible Star Wars content. Today, we take a trip down memory lane (and hope Scarif eventually makes its way into Star Wars Battlefront II!)

Moses Perin yeah. You had to get to that one mountain and jump with it. I revisited the game and it’s 100 times better than battlefront 2
It's extremely easy on Endor because you just have to stand on the bridge in the tree house and wait for the At-At to pass under it to jump on.
I think everyone remembers their first time seeing luke or vader cutting down your friends in the distance and running away when they turn to you
I remember always having a Vader sneaking up on me from behind and getting a few shots in with my Bryar as he slowly advanced. And like killing me before I could react.
My favourite was hiding in the bunkers on sullust in a dark corner and waiting for the enemy team to swarm into the bunker and activate the lightsaber. Think that was around the time Rogue one came out and wanted that corridor scene vibe.
One thing I absolutely loved about this game was being able to spawn on heroes as bodyguards. So cool.

I remember playing split screen co-op with my sister for battlefront 1. We freaking loved it. The game looked so good that it even made my dad, who isn’t much of a gamer, sit by and watch the battles unfold.

Seems like those that grew up with this game really liked it. And thats just awesome. I remember when I first noticed I had the season pass. On Christmas, after my family finished opening presents, I booted up Blattlefront only to see that I had all characters that were previously locked. To this day, it has been one of the best gifts I have received.

@@ethanh9706 the dlc maps are conpletely dead on battlefront 2015. The only games i can find are walker assualt and heroes vs villains. You cant even get some of the hutt contracts because of how dead the dlc maps are

yeah multiplayer is super fun had great memories loved the death star dlc and stuff i liked the metas and overall content its only 5 years ago but i have nostalgia for it since its my first game on a console when i got the xbox one when it released

In my humble opinion, the Bespin Expansion Pack was what made me fall completely in love with this game. So many fond memories, so much nostalgia looking back on it. A masterpiece was what EA had created, simply a masterpiece.
Too bad I never got to experience that since it was locked behind a $50 season pass
I just really miss the Rogue One content, and having more choices for your default character's face.

i hate how races are limited to class. however, i like that there are classes because everyone used to use the same 3 guns so now there’s variety and enhancements. i’ve just always wanted to play as a togruta but i don’t think they’d ever add that.
Spockitans was never really a fan of the movie, but absolutely loved the DLC.

Jaws exactly! I know a lot of people loved the movie, but I just found it so boring. I definitely enjoyed Solo more. Maybe because every Star Wars fan knows who Han Solo is, I don’t know.
The Bespin trailer still gives me chills to this day. I can’t explain how perfect that DLC was.

This game was fun until everyone started using personal shield and jetpacks...
All combat is now is you shoot at someone and within a second they are fifty feet up with a shield up, and you either chase them with your own jetpack (which usually yields you death as you land next to a whole squad) or you go and find a new enemy to engage who just does the same fucking thing.
Very happy that personal shield arent a thing in BF2 and that jetpacks are only available on some reinforcement.

Dude I just started grinding this game fresh on PS4 since there's double xp (I played back in 2015 on Xbox One).. and HOOOLY crap.
It has turned into what is by far the most toxic meta I've ever had to face in a multiplayer shooter.
There's about four total loadouts that people use, all including jump pack- most including personal shield and bacta bombs.
The only people who use targeting rifles or rifle star cards are aiming gods-
And if they don't take personal shield, it's power shot with that God forsaken auto pistol.
Other than that, the EE-3 and EE-4 are all you'll see on large and small maps respectively- and there's always that one guy, who glitches out of the map and camps with grenade launcher alt fire.
... Fighter squadron is nice and simple though. I get like 12,000 X2 xp per game.

Toucannon Pirate im 13 and have been a star wars fan since my 6th birthday, but i only first got a console besides the wii in april 2019 i believe. I almost instantly got bf2 but i hadnt got ps plus until Christmas where it was a gift. Ive been playing online battlefornt 2 since christmas. My favourite mode is republic supremacy and yeah i do that with clones.

I think one reason I’ve always wanted to return to this game was how chill it was to play. From its aesthetic to its gameplay, it was much less sweat inducing than other games (including SWBF2 2015).
The bolts from the weapons were such a big thing for me that I didn’t realize until BF2. BF2 feels like you’re shooting little BB’s. In BF1 the bolts were so meaty and satisfying.

Same, It's mostly the map design: you can play in choke points or large open parts of the map at any point, no stupid forced choke points when you have to fight inside of a hangar or palace in battlefront 2.
After the bad COD games following bo2 I never really played any online games and mainly played offline and jumping from battlefront 2015 with no dlcs to battlefront 2 online with all the dlcs was just mind blowing but battlefront 2 didn’t really bring much new to the table I liked other then the campaign imo

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I just remember enjoying playing this game much more than it's sequel.
I think because it was based more on the original films, and the look was influenced by this. It looked more "orginal" star wars imo.

The character customization sucked, the guns were all overpowered especially hero weapons like Hans blaster, the maps were boring and can't even be compared to Battlefront 2, and game modes were uninteresting and boring. Only good game mode was Walker Assualt. No sotrymode either. And then you say that Battlefront 2 feels like an arcade game when the Battlefront from 2015 literally had powerups spawn on the battlefield so anybody can be a hero if they just go to spawn locations

I miss all of this. This was the game that I sat watching on my old Apple Laptop until I got it. This was the game that made me ask for the Xbox Live gamepass which fueled my obsession for the game more. While the new Battlefront is good, there are memories from this game which I will never forget.
I remember people getting mad when Lando would spawn during the power blast glitch so they would run in front of him and body block the shots to kill himself

the memories i have of this game are unmatched. it’s crazy how it feels like i was just 11 years old, taking turns playing this with my older brother on our crappy family laptop and now i’m a legal adult and will be graduating in a few weeks. my brother has been moved on in life for years now and all i can do is remember. people get mad about this game and about ea in general, but to me, when i was 11, 12, 13 and older, i didn’t care about any of that. all this game was to me was fun and i’ll never forget how much fun it was. i miss this game and i miss those times. i never could have known how much of an impact it would have on me until it was over and already had. i’m so glad it happened though and i got to experience it, but i really do wish i could go back just one last time. scattergun one more kid out of their personal shield..jet pack no scope one more fool with a pulse rifle..live one more day without worry
It definitely lacked a lot of content but was incredibly fun.
I remember playing the beta on Hoth walker assault and I loved it. Even with the controversies, I still enjoyed the game. The dlc really improved it.

In terms of flaws, the 2nd one isnt any better. Hell its worse the force pushes dont work 40% of the time and most of the gun users cant even win against the saber users.
Boys if yall play ps4 there is a community called "Bespin Survivors" who usually play in North America on the normal maps but usually just bespin.

Logan Cluer I really don’t think the OG era needs two more heroes. The Empire and Rebellion each have 5 heroes, whereas the other two eras have 3. I personally feel if they added Jyn and Krennic people would be complaining about how some other heroes weren’t added.

BF2 imo is way better than BF1 having more modes better saber fights and more weapon customisation with different classes so you have something to work up to, star cards are generally the same but the new characters like Clone Comandos and the Droidekas really took us by storm with different abilities and general gameplay, this game took the pile of shit it was in and is now making it into a nice little cottage, I hope to one day come back to the game and find it has turned into a massive fucking mansion. This has so much potential I cant even put it into words and with dice on the lead I feel it will reach its potential.

The first EA Battlefront is unbelievably underrated. By the end of this game's DLC run, it was the Star Wars multiplayer experience I always dreamed of. I don't know why, but this game is more enjoyable for me than Battlefront II. Something about it just appeals to me more. I think it's the fact that this one feels way more immersive. And Walker Assault was one of the coolest multiplayer game modes I've ever played.

Galactic assault in the 2nd EA battlefront usualy just comes down to being crammed in boring tight hallway and getting bomb spammed in un avoidable ways. The gameplay in the 2nd battlefront was seriously dumbed down so 8 years olds can play.
@@lazer2541 Yeah I agree. I just can't figure out exactly what it is that I love so much about this one as opposed to Battlefront II. I think it's just the level of immersion. It feels like with Battlefront I, DICE had so much passion and love put into making you truly feel like you were in the Star Wars universe fighting for the galaxy. Battlefront II is a really good game now, and they put a lot of effort and care into it, but it feels like that passion and love for the IP is gone, and they're just working on making a videogame rather than an immersive Star Wars experience. If that makes any damn sense at all. It did in my head.
@@tristanskywalker1998 Yeah my favorite map in the 1st ine was on bespin in the factory (I forgot the name) because in the last phase were the rebels had to wait for the evacuation in one room with 4 entries and imperials attacking from all directions so it felt so immersive with all the explosions
@@lazer2541 Hell yeah. Battlefront I had so many iconic memories for me. From the last phase of walker assault when the rebels would desperately attack the walkers with everything they got, to the extraction mode where the rebels had to hold out until the transport arrived while the Empire threw everything they had to stop them, to completing the trench run in the Death star trench or getting the plans to the U-Wing on Scariff. The game was just packed full of amazing moments that for some reason, never got old.
What's awesome about your review is that it showed you don't let social media and other people shape your view of a product. If you enjoy a game, then you enjoy a game. It's refreshing.
I got this game Christmas 2015, I didn’t use social media that much so I didn’t know any controversy about the game, for most of grade school this was my comfort game and I’ve never had a gaming experience quite like it.
I feel like EAs battlefront 1 was an overall better feeling game because of how rushed battlefront 2 was at launch

Both games weren’t good. Played bf1 for like 310 hours, but they can‘t win against 2005 battlefront 2. Both games with their lack of content is a joke. The latest battlefront 2 has a lot of content ok, but the content is not good :)

Imagine if they just pulled a Rainbow Six Siege and kept updating this game for over 4 years. It might be one of the best star wars games ever made. I would be perfectly okay with buying every DLC that gets released, since they need to get money to fund it and the game has no monetization of any kind, other than paid DLC.

Great Video, I loved this Game so much. The Scarif DLC could have been its own game and I would have bought it. I think with a few changes this game would still be remembered today
I agree with absolutely everything in this video. Back when I used to just get home from school and just play... this game holds a special place in my heart like no other game ever will.
I was about to agree until I remembered the good ol' lego star wars days. I remember being little and playing it with my sisters and dad, it was one of the few games my whole family genuinely enjoyed playing with each other. Now my mom is always busy with work, my biggest sister is going off to college, and my other sister spends all her spare time in her room, I'm now the lonesome gamer of the house.

I still play this game to this day occasionally. The maps, the heroes, the sounds, the music. The nostalgia in this game is like no other. It sad that no one ever plays Death Star or scarif anymore. Would love to see some people playing those😕

None of my friends ever played with me cause they are all on pc but I still enjoyed playing blast, HvV, Supremacy, Walker Assault, the Bespin DLC and the Scariff DLC for hours on end after school. I remember playing with my little brother during the summer time. Thank you battlefront night for reminding me of these memory’s and giving me this amazing Nostalgia!
That time from the beta in 2015 to the release of the Scarif DLC at the end of 2016 was incredible, I had such a great time with this game and will remember it forever. I’ve been having so much fun with BF2 ever since I took part in the closed alpha about 3.5 years ago, but I recently booted up BF1 again and it still gives me that special nostalgic feeling :). The season pass content of Battlefront 1 was seriously the last time I was always hyped for new DLCs. Battlefield 1 only managed to do that with the TSNP dlc, afterwards the releases became less interesting because everything was accessible for weeks prior on the community test server. I miss season passes, live service content is just way more half-baked and uncertain.

Battlefront 2015 was such a beautiful and well-developed game, the pacing and play style was the best gaming experience I will ever have.
