I think thats a good selection of games. I don't have many games, but all the ones I have and the ones I want to buy are on that list. Maybe I would add a Mario Party to it.

I completely agree-BOTW/TOTK are absolute must-haves, along with Odyssey, Astral Chain, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Xenoblade, and so many more. Nintendo Switch is the premiere system to have honestly regardless of some performance hits and shaky 3rd party support from the west. In terms of must own you need BOTW, Splatoon 2( *originally would say 3 but Octo Expansion is peak), Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Astral Chain, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Definitely 💯 it’s been the premier system for me for quite a few years now, especially for exclusives! That portability factor really helps make up for some performance issues, as long as they’re not too crazy. And yeah Splatoon 2 is absolutely 🐐’d too
Hollow Knight would also be a game I'd put in the essentials, I have 80 hours in both it and metroid dread. Both these games attributed to me recently getting the ori games which I heard are incredible. Also I agree with the take that dread is the best 2d metroid, but best metroid game might be tied with Prime 2.
Yes, Hollow Knight is definitely worthy of being an essential! And here’s hoping we hear something for Silksong soon. The Ori games are incredible, and right up there with Dread for me. I’m really hoping that they release Prime 2 and 3 on Switch before Prime 4 drops. Thank you for sharing 🎮

People love to give the switch flake, but I love the damn thing so much. Call it what you want, old, outdated, underpowered. As a busy college student who doesn’t wanna log around a big ass steamdeck, and wants to play more advanced games than what you’ll find on the 3ds or ps vita, the switch is genuinely a lifesaver for me, one that I don’t plan on giving up for a long time. Xenoblade chronicles 3, persona 4 golden, fire emblem engaged, octopath traveller 2 and yakuza kiwami will carry me through my entire next year of college while on commutes to my pure math classes or playing during the very limited time I actually have to game. I am grateful I can at least play and experience that much🙏🏻

And yeah, people can say what they want about the Switch, but it’s done a great job of providing some amazing gaming experiences since 2017. @JustKeepPlaying-b8e There was no particular game that elevated the switch above the N64. It was more to do with the quantity of high-quality games for the system released in total. The more games I own for a system, the better the system. Still love my N64 though
