Littleheath wood is across the road from me. Wish I had know u we’re doing this walk I e done many camps there lol with the kids great to see u doing this. And Selsdon wood is where the magi Ruth of our camps aswell also painted stones and made fairy doors for this woodland plenty of deer in Selsdon wood love the fact that u have done the vanguard way brilliant that horse / dragon has an old camp of ours right behind it to brilliant to see it like this as a hike and not just a day camp areas
So that was you’re camp I found a few months ago lol I live 5 minutes from Selsdon woods and camp there quiet often,I did stumble upon an old camp when I was scouting for places to pitch
@@anthony68 it probabaly was myself and the kids stay there a lot as we are. Five minutes from the woodlands our selve if u go through my videos ur see lots of areas in our local woods u will probably recognise
A happy full view C.J. I followed you on google to suss out the woodland at the start. To think they're so close to the city - you wouldn't know immersed inside. There was a lot in here so I'll just mention the dogs. I admire you taking them - they were well behaved I noticed. And I did think about food and water - that's extra weight. Well done. A bit of a sod about their leads but you managed I'm sure. Well, very enjoyable. All the best. Mark
Thanks for the lovely comment :-) The amount of woodland so early in the trail definitely surprised me...very cool natural spaces that are so accessible.
Looks a lovely trail CJ. I enjoy watching others take on long distance trails. Id not heard of this one before seeing your video so thanks for sharing.
Nice video, I live in Selsdon and have been meaning to do the Vanguard way but I was told you can easily get lost on the route as it’s not signposted to well
Thanks the lovely coment. Yeah...watch part 2 and on...you'll see how frustrated I get with the signposting, or lack thereof. I carried paper maps and the GPX file in Google maps and used them both A LOT.
@@WilderhopeAdventures Will do,they do have a website I think that has maps and descriptions I remember viewing it a while ago but I heard it’s still easy to get lost lol well done for completing it despite that I’d definitely get lost lol
@@anthony68 I did use the website and the route description was helpful, and I used those in some places too, but I didn't use the maps from the website. The route is on the OS maps and that was the most accurate but I didn't have the digital versions.
Only found your channel tonight looking for this walk, I live opposite Selsdon Wood. Take care.
Oh that's such a nice walk!!! Wish I was with u guys!!!!
Thank you. Glad you have a soft spot for this trail :-)
nice video - look forward to the rest of the walk
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. It really was a lovely trail...I think I preferred it over the South Downs Way
My parents got married at St Marys church in 1983. Great video :)
Thank you. That is definitely one awesome place to get married.

I did this trip back in August when it was HOT for the first two days. What was going to be a four day trip turned into five because of the heat

@@WilderhopeAdventures That's Ok a pleasure. Yeah some great green corridors there. Much needed.
@@WilderhopeAdventures A real pleasure. Hey a good surprise though eh. I still think the dogs were well behaved. Peace!
I'd never heard of this walk. I like walking and it's quite close to where I live. I'll definitely walk at least some of it. Thank you.
Definitely do. I am hoping to do the Weald Way on a long weekend which runs sorta parallel to it but starts in Gravesend and ends in Eastbourne
Nice trip, another trail to add to the list. Love the collies
Hope you enjoy it when you get out to do it...definitely worth it. Thank you...I will pass your compliments on to them
Oh splendid. I live within 2 miles of this trail & always wondered about it. Subscribed. Thank you!
Thanks for the sub...much appreciated. Hope you get to enjoy this trail that is so close to you. Definitely worth doing.
Wonderful
Thank you :-)

Glad you enjoyed it. Will be tackling others in 2021, some of which most people haven't heard of and others are well known. Thanks for watching :-)
I thought it was a horse lol. Cracking video, looking forward to the next instalment. Subscribed :)
I can see the horse too...but I have one of those mythically/magically inclined minds so see dragons and fairies vs horses and hamsters!
Not just you - that was definitely a dragon 😊
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who sees dragons :-) Sadly this was the only one I've seen so far
Wild raspberries 👍😊 fabby doo....
Absolutely. I kept my eyes out but never did find any more sadly :-(
