That was an epic adventure. I actually binge watched this 4 parter as it’s an area I know so well. Thank you so much for being me along on your adventure. All the best Andy
Wow...lovely to hear that you enjoyed it and that it was binge-worthy. Glad to have you along and to have you a part of this small but growing lovely community :-)
Lovely to hear that you enjoyed them all and hope you get out and enjoy this trail yourself at some point. Plenty more adventures of all kinds to come in the future
That looked a beautiful walk and awesome views. Especially towards the end over the beaches and stuff nice one Cj thank for sharing the vanguard way with us
@@WilderhopeAdventures I know I love the south down way and the study hills is a massive favourite of mine. Devils punch owl brandy abandoned disused railway and just so many more places I love to go like the windmills and so on
I loved watching these videos, CJ! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I have done that first section between Croydon and Oxted as part of the Vanguard way marathon, now inspired to run the other sections. My favourite bit is that view of the Cuckmere river - I've been at that spot a few times and I always find it amazing.
Well done CJ on completing the Vanguard Way. Enjoyed following you on the journey. Most trails have their ups and downs. At least your down came near the end to be quickly replaced the high of completing. What’s the next challenge?
Hey. Thanks. Gotta a few in-between videos coming up...day hikes, top tips, a tent review but January has my Yorkshire roadtrip videos starting which includes part of the Cleveland Way. As far as what I'll actually be doing to create future content...theres a lot in the pipeline but can't give it all away ahead of time ;-)
Thanks for sharing your adventure and defiantly one to add to my to do list. Shame the ending went a little wonky, something I tend to come across a lot, to the extent that I've come to accept it. But ya could do without such. Anyhoo thanks again, watched and big thumbs up straight through. ATB Dave aka wackyswanderings. Love the doggies by the way :-)
Glad to hear it has inspired others to do the trail. I have been in talks with several groups about the signage and stiles I struggled with so hopefully there will be some improvement soon
Thanks for sharing this route it was very informative. I was actually looking for some different trails in and around Kent and this is one I was considering. However the amount of road walking has put me off, when there are so many similar trails that contain less. On the blackened crops, I believe it is a 'green' way of adding nutrients to the soil. They grow a variety of Broad Bean and just before full maturity the farmer sprays them to stop the growth and then plough them back in to the ground. When you grow beans, the root system contains a lot of nutrient and goodness which then stays in the soil; it helps to reduce the amount of fertilisers used. That's my understanding anyway!
Glad to hear it was useful. Don't let the road walking put you off...compared to the whole trail and other walks I've done it's actually pretty decent (although I do complain about it more than is probably balanced) and the roads are quiet country roads for the most part...often quite enjoyable. I gripe about any road walking as I'm, from the US where in the west there is basically zero road walking...so a mile out of 60 is still going to be too much for me...ha ha. It is a better trail, in my opinion, than the South Downs Way and comparable to the North Downs Way, which is my preferred Downs route. I will be doing the Weald Way this year I hope...another trail not given much love or well known.
Thanks for the clarification. I have since looked at the route on OS and as you say the road parts are not too bad. I have walked much but not all of the NDW & will be starting the Weald-way during the Christmas break ( I live close to the start) with an aim to finish it by Easter through a series of day and two day walks. Happy trails!
Tidemills is our daily walk. You missed the abandoned village. If you ever need logistic support in the Newhaven area ( ie. a lift back to the car) give us s shout.
It is a beautiful area...wish I'd had more chance to enjoy it but that rain was pretty ugly coming in. Thanks for the offer...will let you know if I ever need it.
Thanks for these inspirational walk and videos.
Beautiful stuff, and well done 👍
Just finished watching your journey...Well done CJ. That wee fishing guy near the end!!!! Paul.
Thanks Paul. Watching that guy made me extremely nervous

Very good. I stuck with it and watched the whole series. All the best in the future. Mark
Thanks Mark...much appreciated
@@WilderhopeAdventures That's OK. Peace!
Really enjoyed the final instalment of your journey CJ. Fantastic shots of the white cliffs and sea. Very inspiring. Many thanks - Ben 👍
Thanks Ben...glad you enjoyed it. Hope you get out a some point to do it yourself.
Enjoyed all 4 vids. Thx for a trail I knew nothing about. Hopefully more to come from you. Take care.. Steve.

Hey CJ. Lucky those hay bales didn’t attack. Well done on a great trail. Thanks for sharing. ATB. Grays

Love the videos, must be great just to get out with your canine companions.
Thank you. They do make these adventure trips ten times better than doing it solo...I prefer to hike alone but not be alone...so they make it perfect
