This format is perfect and really help to know what to play. Please let's analyze this great performance by this method ruclips.net/video/C0q9wOf8_R8/видео.html Love it! :D
As someone with very little musical training, this type of video is most helpful. My biggest take away is to play around with the chords and build up that muscle memory. Thank you Simon.
Fantastic method for teaching. It seems very effective because you break down everythink the in CONTEXT of a solo. Great work, I'd love to see more videos like these!
Actually, he’s quite poor but also discreet so that’s his subtle way of inviting us to subscribe and join the course so he can get a new T-shirt in a used clothing store. He da kang thou!
I love this concept for this, cause it takes me outside the box and helps me understand how too move around in a key signature especially in a minor key!
Cool thanks, but at 6:42 can you explain why the voicing changes in your left hand? You say you go up chromatically three times but you do two different things: first two chords are a tritone and a major third on top, but the second two chords are a tritone and a fourth? Why that choice?
This might be a weird question... But how do you think of all these concepts and transpose them... In real time? I feel like I would have to constantly break down numbers and stuff in my mind to play them..
To be honest, when I'm actually playing in the moment, I'm hardly thinking about anything at all. You have to learn it to the point you can then forget it and it's just in your subconscious. You certainly couldn't play a solo whilst analysing everything at the same time haha
Strahinja Velickovic my opinion depend on budget Yamaha p255 1200 but it’s weighted action and plays pretty well or you can get a Williams legato 88 semi weighted some “100%” weighted the 2nd version and pay 200-400
Simon whats going on with the Academy? I cant find any posts in the Community. My practice logs are also gone. This is Adam1028 btw. I recorded a new video fr my practice log but I cant find any of the forums lmao. what gives?
I'm on it! There were some changes made to the site yesterday to make it more secure. Everything is still there, there is just a problem with logging into the community section. I'll get it sorted ASAP!
Did not like the D7alt. I get non diatonicism is fundamental in jazz/blues/r&b but I did not like that transition at all. Made me feel nauseous. No wonder you're not playing riffs over the Dalt7, and just the Dalt. Without the 7th it works.
What do you guys think of this new video format? Let me know if you like it, then I'll know to make more of them! :)
I liked this format! I also love it when u make funk/neo soul videos
Love the new format!🖒
Would love to see this kind of video over Neo Soul!
Super thanks ❤

This is probably one of the best concepts. It enlarges everyones vocabulary a ton! Thank you Simon ^^
Learned so much!
Love the “out of the box” part. Been wanting to learn how to solo like that forever.
Really fantastic to hear your thought process not just transcribing - really helps 👍🏻

I'm glad you found it useful :)
Simon, I love you. I love your content. But that shirt makes you look like Shaggy from scooby doo.
Joshua Loreto wow that’s so accurate
I like his shirt!

😂
This new video format is SO effective, please do more!
The riffs were insaneeee, I’ve learned majority of my improvisation techniques from you! Keep going!!
Good to hear bro! :)
Very, very Soulful, Jazzy, R & B, and Neo-Soul!!!!!!!!
Man, I love your teaching! Thank you, for sharing.
My pleasure, Dr!
I like the way you explain things. It's much easier to follow than...well, everyone else!
I love this concept for this, cause it takes me outside the box and helps me understand how too move around in a key signature especially in a minor key!
Simon God give us things that not in a book or someone teaching you. God gave you that.
Você é muito bom, melhor professor da internet.
I love the way you teach.
This video format it's great!!! Thank you for making it and teaching us in your fantastic way!
a great new format, simon! how about doing a follow-up utilizing the diminished scale on a similar backing?
Hope i can be like u soon, thanks for the tutor👍cheers!
Great advice, re: using block chords as melody. I just need to work in my other fingers, instead of doing triads all the time.
This format is excellent. Thank you so much, Simon. I opened this out of curiosity koz “Piano Pig” got me laughing. Now I’m hooked.
Hahaha I'm glad you like the name 😂
Love your work man. Keep it coming please
Thanks man!
Great Again!

Awesome content, thanks so much!

Hey PianoPig, can you do a simple short tutorial on how to play the intro to your videos please? :)
I think you'll find I've already done exactly what you're after. Here you go: ruclips.net/video/x8J9CzSXrUE/видео.html
Deus abençoe
Good video!
Thanks a lot. Very helpful.
My pleasure!

Wonderfull video! What type of scale do you play after the out of the box stuff on 10.35? It seems to have a #11 (C#) and b13 (Eb) in it.
I think it was just taking major triads up chromatically. Pretty sure I explained what I was doing in the video!
Do you have fully weighted keys? Just wondering because i like the fully weighted than none weighted.
Absolutely! I couldn't play on non-weighted keys
PianoPig cool! Thanks
Are you shaggy from Scooby-Doo? Great vids dude!
You caught me ;) hahaha
EPIC!

PianoPig exactly can’t think while playing playing should be natural with any instrument
Bro Simon.., i have a question.
0:01 for your next video can you go "zoinks! scooby doo where are you?!" 🤣
Majoras hahah
What kind of software you are using that shows chord you are playing? Looks cool though.
It's called Midiculous
PianoPig Ah Thank you.
Super tight. full 100, just 😮😮🙌🏿👏🏿👌🏿🇫🇷
Looks at 17 minute video, thinks of the last 6 months of intense studying, then promptly Yeats guitar off cliff
Dude, my young brother.....do you partake in the herb? A lover of mountain cabbage?
What Key Signature is this?
G minor
Shaggy??
Expect Chord of the Month #5!~
Next week! :)
PianoPig See ya then!
Simon !
i wish i was a pig, on this Linda ronstadt' s sleeve, in the early 70's....
What about a "country rock" tutorail ?
Rongrrk...rongrrk
XC
🔥🔥🔥🔥 💯💯💯💯
What piano or keyboard would you recommend to an intermediate to advanced player thats looking to play jazz and funk?

It is sorted and ready to go! Sorry about that bro!
i see its all fixed man, thank you for the incredible speed!
Came here because I saw Shaggy irl in the preview

its supposed to feel anxious
Hey, called you a horse one time and you hearted it. I feel guilty. I'm sorry
Hahaha no need to feel guilty. That horse comment made me laugh :)
