I was told on discord that the trainer reputation affects the XP increase of the riders they work with. Regional provides no bonus, national adds 10%, international 20%, and legendary 30%.
Brilliant video - where did you find this background information? Thinking the xp system, the fact the only have 20 upgrades etc. Would love to deep dive this myself, if you have a link ?
I conducted the research myself in PCM21 going into the database editor every single week to monitor progress over a three season period with a modified DB that I made that ensured the riders would achieve all 20 levels. Other information was gathered from PCMDaily.com over the past 12 years as a regular on the site and playing the game every year over that period.
Another random staff tip. You can exceed your budget with staff salaries, but not rider salaries. Hired staff contracts always expire at the end of the NEXT season. If your staff salaries are all expiring, you can spend your entire budget on riders. As far as I can tell, staff are the only way to spend the Balance you accumulate. So what I do is, after signing all of my riders for the year, I fire all my trainers and doctors and hire them back or hire new ones. You spend some money on the signing on fee, but you can spend all of your budget on riders, and pay for the staff with your balance. Then the next season, all of your staff will be expiring again so you can spend all of the budget on riders.
I did a whole ten minute thing on this but the video got too long and cut it out. The key to not having to replace is to renew contracts after you complete all your August signings. If you want to expand and hire new staff for the coming season, do it in November/December so their contract will expire at the same time as the rest of your staff and not require firing to maximize rider budget.
Thanks for the info, I stil have some questions if you don't mind. If a rider has no potential left there's no point in him still having a trainer? The summary for what to train for which attribute looks roughly like this, correct? BAR= Baroudeur, Flat, Stamina GC= Mountain, Time-trial, Stamina, Recovery MTN= Mountain, Medium Mountain, Stamina TTR= Time-trial, Prologue COB= Cobbles, Acceleration, Flat, Sprint SPR= Sprint, Acceleration, Flat, Resistance HIL= Hill, Medium Mountain, Acceleration, Resistance Also I'm guessing there's not an option anywhere to change when riders start to decrease in attributes cause 28 years old is way too early and not realistic if you look at real life.
Having a trainer after reaching max potential is of little importance. They can degrade without a trainer so if you have an available trainer that’s not maxed out keep them assigned but that rider is the first to drop or relegate to an inferior trainer. Yes, that’s the right attribute breakdown.
Great video! There is something I have been wondering about. Does overall potential matter? Can a rider keep growing if he reaches his max overall potential (ex: 4 stars) but has some specific stat potential at 5/5,5? If he does, wouldn't that push his overall rating higher than his overall potential ?
Being good at one discipline does not mean that rider is considered to be that good, all-around is a portion of their rating, so it's possible to be 5.5 in a discipline while only being a 5 or even 4.5 overall. But if they've 'reached their overall potential' but still have some room in their discipline matrix, keep training that one, there's still room for improvement.
thanks for the tutorial. i would ask you if you could make a tutorial on how te setup your season the best in ct ctpro and world tour its a thing i struggle a lot with :(
hi decathlon gamer, i'm new to the game so just 1 quick question. i have a few riders who are extremely tired and it's impacting their morale. is there a way i can give them a rest? thanks
PCM22 and earlier you can micromanage training. From PCM23 and again now in '24 the system is controlled largely by the AI. The best way to get a rest is to get them a break from race days and not having an objective coming too soon. If it's September or beyond don't worry about it, it's too late to resolve and pick the best or most fit riders for your remaining races.
@@DecathlonGamer great thank you! one other question if you dont mind. if i simulate a race in which my young riders participating. will they still get experience or not? thanks again
Question, how does the observe other riders work? Can i observe loads of riders in 1 race and how long till i see his stats etc. How do it work and best way to use it? Thanks in advance!
It's only for Pro Cyclist mode. It'll bank a handful of uses over time in a race. It'll automatically reveal some information, and has a chance to reveal full information. You can use it repeatedly to attempt to get the full reveal on the same rider. I, personally, don't use it often but it's a handy tool. It's best used on your rivals.
Hardly. I only use TDF training camps when I'm competing for a podium to get a bonus on a few stages. The extra fatigue is hardly worth it and the others fail to provide anything meaningful besides extra fatigue and expense.
Hmm thx but i only play pro cyclist mode, and that as far as i'm aware has no trainers, i'm finding i never have any actions, says you have less closer you are to peak fitness, or objective, but i've never been able to use any... was hoping it would help somewhat in races, which addmiitedly in first season i'm finding impossible to be compretitive in. (Climber) profile......is there as another video covering pro cyclist mode? ......tbh seems broken, but hey maybe it's just me who is a poor player..
I do have a climbing tutorial, the rules for that are the same in Pro Cyclist mode. I also did a PC mode tutorial a couple years ago and virtually nothing has changed in game since then, one small change this year is all they've changed in the last four years for PC mode.

Very good tutorial! The advice on using the web view to figure out training emphasis is something I need to improve on.
Thanks mate.. you are leveling up my XP ahaha thanks a lot
