I do actually think that cover art is just photoshopped over to add more dimension to her face, I don’t think they’re actually changing her design in game. They tend to do this with the US releases of “cute” games, like when they make Kirby scream in anger here, but he’s smiling in the Japanese cover art.
I hate that people think we dislike the change just cause it's a "redesign" even though the REASON is cause they're trying to make her be like movie peach
and why is that a bad thing? Obviously the movie is gonna bring in new fans to the franchise so Nintendo has to make the medium migration as easy as possible. One such tactic is designing characters to be more similair to their movie designs

Super Mario is known worldwide but that doesn't mean that all 8 Billion know he exists. Why else do you think the giant corperations still advertise there populair media?
She had a good amount of expression in Odyssey and Strikers Switch. This design change is not good in that movie peach is just that, movie peach. Different character. Game peach always brought sweetness and decorum even though she didn't have much expression. Frankly NONE of them did until Odyssey. Movie peach is great, for the movies. Don't just completely change a character. Upgrade them, yes, as in "Galaxy" Mario to "Odyssey Mario", but don't literally discard them by swapping out their face! The new design doesn't even feel like my Peach. 😢 It makes me sad and afraid that this change will be for future games too.
i personally think its a 50/50 for me, like the new main art, in my opinion... looks ugly, but on the angry art, it's 100 times better than the old design, i like that its way more expresive than before, and even in the angry art, it looks like her classic design, just more expresive, but i simply think its ugly in some cases

personally i don't even count a minor face change like this to be a "redesign". Peach has had the exact same design for a long time now and since this game is all about Peach and giving her new dresses this is the perfect time to normalise and get away with what is already a very minor "redesign"
They killed her, she looks messed up, she looks evil, she looks like she has plastic surgery, peach is supposed to be a damsel in distress that cant do anything, that is her, that is peach, peach is meant to not do anything, thats daisy

And fun Fact: in her first solo game ... ... ... she had EXPRESSIONS! And the oddest thing about the lazy youtubers is ... nearly nobody has noticed, that she has NO CROWN.

I’m just happy Peach can finally have more facial expressions besides 🙂, 😮, and 😐.
