Obviously having Neil involved is a huge reason for it but I’ve never seen an adaptation of a video game that has this much respect for the property it’s being adapted from. In the first episode there were a lot of changes made from the game, but they all worked to make the story and world from the game work better in the show (at least so far!) Can’t wait to see where it goes from here!

It just occured to me that there will be people who watch this show, fall in love with it, then play the video game for the first time ever, and be completely immersed in their new favourite show. I’m really jealous of those people.
Rushed?, Cutscenes and dialogues alone for the first game is less than 4 hours long, the first episode was basically half of that and there's 8 more to come.
Cody Travers - there were a few elements of the episode that the game did better - like the outbreak, the chase and Sarah’s death… but yeah it did feel rushed - cos originally they wanted to the 1st episode to end with Sarah’s death THEN the time jump occurs.. still a great start tho.
What I love and respect immensely is that the studio really seems to actually respect the source material i.e. the game. Far too often to studios fail to do so, to the detriment of the adaptation. This has really been great to see, and I eagerly await new episodes.
I wonder why Troy doesn't do bigger roles. I've really enjoyed his voice work since I heard it for the first time playing Infamous Second Son I’m talking about live action stuff.

I'm hoping we get this scene.
Ellie: "Why are the pages stuck together"
Joel: "😶 uhhh."
I love and appreciate his honesty and self awareness of his vulnerability to an apacolyptic event. Most people don't assume this very likey result of themselves.
If something happens and a huge percent of the population is killed off, you're probably one of the dead. He gets that. Most don't.
As always hbo delivering quality content the last of us is an incredible adaptation of the game applause 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I don’t know how Troy could swap his voice and made that signature Joel’s voice
I hope Troy does his cameo with his Joel voice
I really hope Troy and Ashley has a little cameo in this show. Would be so awesome!
They really have
I love how the relationship between the game and the series is respected by HBO. Something the Witcher series severely missed!
I agree
to be true, it wasn't netflix fault, the witcher's author explicitly prohibited anything to do with the game, the guy considers gamers stupid and games incapable of telling as good a story as books
Bill and frank made me cry sooooooo much
“Yeah, right, guy in the $2,000 sweater is gonna survive the apocalypse 😆”
It just occured to me that there will be people who watch this show, fall in love with it, then play the video game for the first time ever, and be completely immersed in their new favourite show.
I’m really jealous of those people.
Yep, that's me
Anxiously waiting for the upcoming episodes and the pc release of the game coz I never had a PlayStation
This man is a living legend.
The GOAT of voice acting.
This is amazing. Love all of those involved on this show.
god he's so dreamy. that face and the voice are just so perfect
A little rushed, but I bet this is going to be one if not the best show of the year
Rushed?, Cutscenes and dialogues alone for the first game is less than 4 hours long, the first episode was basically half of that and there's 8 more to come.
Cody Travers - there were a few elements of the episode that the game did better - like the outbreak, the chase and Sarah’s death… but yeah it did feel rushed - cos originally they wanted to the 1st episode to end with Sarah’s death THEN the time jump occurs.. still a great start tho.
how dare you think anything else than "perfect show"
I meant my comment was rushed, since only one episode is out atm, don't get me wrong, as a hardcore fan of the game I loved the first episode
How is it rushed? We got to spend more time of the world before the outbreak started
What I love and respect immensely is that the studio really seems to actually respect the source material i.e. the game. Far too often to studios fail to do so, to the detriment of the adaptation. This has really been great to see, and I eagerly await new episodes.
I wonder why Troy doesn't do bigger roles. I've really enjoyed his voice work since I heard it for the first time playing Infamous Second Son
I’m talking about live action stuff.
Bro, Troy basically has a monopoly on main character voices in the media; what are you talking about...
He's the most famous actor in the biggest entertainment industry on the planet, there's more to life than movies and tv.
Basically every big roll in video games is done by Nolan North or Troy Baker
@@ben1ben2ben1 nolan is kinda doing less for the last couple of years. Wonder if he is in any big production right now
Didn't Baker play the bloody JOKER once of twice.
At first I was skeptical at the show, but the more Ashley and Troy had shared their thoughts, I'm so excited!
It’s about time Troy gets some decent recognition outside the gaming community.
It's no surprise they want this guy on everything. I can listen to that sweet voice all day long xD
"This is Kashmir" lmao
It's so crazy that Troy Baker is this super well know video game VA because I know him from so many anime and always thought of him as an anime VA
This is cashmere 😂😂
Love troy baker so much. What a great voice actor and human being
Original daddy Joel 😩🤤
Yes 😏😏
I'm so excited for Murray Bartlett's performance as Frank.
Dude was INCREDIBLE in White Lotus and Welcome to Chippendales.
I won't be surprised if he has me sobbing that episode.
Thanks for taking the time to answer Joel. I showed the show to my 50s old non gamer father. He loved it.
Troy is so chill
He's an exception spokesperson and advocate isn't he? He really gets the whole promotion assignment
"I'm the first to go. This is cashmere... ." I laughed loudly.
It really feels like coming full circle first playing the game in 2014 and started streaming it on twitch then finding out a show was coming then as well
Glad that the OGs get their share of praise, we wouldnt be here without em
the cadence and certain tones of his voice is just like joel
I am so happy to see the OGs! Pedro and Bella are great but Troy and Ashley will never be replaced
I am still in awe of this man. As an amateur voice actor myself, all my voices still sound quintessentially "like me". Meanwhile I'm sitting here listening to Troy talk and I can't hear Booker DeWitt or Arkhamverse Joker despite the many hours I spent with both!
I fell in love for TLOU in part because of Troy and Ashelys ´performances. They deserve all the love from us This show would not be happening without both of them
Troy is very articulate! Love seeing him involved
I remember the first time I played the last of us part 2 after waiting for years, I cried so much that night that I couldn't continue playing and didn't feel good for days.😢
The story and characters are tremendously well created and beautiful.
I am beyond excited to see Frank and Bill. Crying over Sarah and Tess is something I've done for 10 years but I don't think I'm mentally prepared for this relationship.
Without Troy and Ashley there would be no show. Their work made the characters that we all learned to love. I am so happy that they are getting the recognition they deserve!
Love this so much.
