Finally I found somebody to explain this in lame terms where I could understand it . I did the same thing pulled it out without marking it and I didn't paint my engine so I was lost until I seen your video. Thank u
i replaced it with the tool on but didnt put the timing in center dont know how to do that, its running fine but misfiring and turning off when im at stop and accelerate
I changed my syncronizer and sensor on my truck afew days ago.done everything u saud. But still on limp mode and says 340 on scanner.but the 2106 will pop on to but then i do it again it wobr show up only code 340.can u help me please???
I pulled mine out to get at a bolt for the EGR stand pipe thing and put it back in based on how the pigtail going to it was and live data says 14 14.5 15 degrees advance timing so is it good or no ? My 98 Ford e250 with the 4.2 l V6 Essex engine
It's the 1st cylinder, front left. For future reference. Timing marks should be on damper/ counter balance wheel. And the block will also have a timing mark.

Thank you sir , we’ll explained .. a lot of these guys , can’t explain shit . This will help me a lot when installing this on a freshly rebuilt 3.8 ..
Thank you very much sir
Great video, very well explained.
Yea I used the shape and curvature of the pigtail going to the sensor
I'm still confused. I'm starting with a used motor with no synchronizer. How does this tool help me?

Can you replace the sensor without having to fool with the synchronizer?
Yes.
Yes, if just replacing the sensor. No problem, 2 screws, simple swap.
@@bgfixit appreciate it my sensor just came in today so hopefully it does the trick.

Do you have to put cylinder 1 in TDC, before engaging tool?
there are 2 tdcs and what cylinder?
If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be attempting this procedure.

What if ur sensor doesn't lift right up and off
Nevermind i found out why it was cracked and corroded inside

What year engine? I've got a 2007 throwing a code for that sensor
This is a 2002 engine in a 1997 truck
So it should be similar to my engine then? Thank you
they make a tool to sync it back up
