    It's also v.imp to note that glucose enters liver via the GLUT-2 transporter, whereas enters muscle and adipose via GLUT-4 transporters!

      iloveu975 it is absorbed from lumen into enterocyte through SGLT (Sodium glucose linked cotransporter) and then it is absorbed in blood through GLUT2

    here i would like to mention two things, 1:46 insulin secrete with help of 2 mechanism one you mentioned is parasympathetic stimulation as well as b-cell of pancreas scenes glucose via fenestrated capillaries and glucose attach with receptor on b-cell and it releases insulin.
    second i have question 3:41 that what mechanism deiced that some of glucose will directly store in to adipose tissue bypassing liver.
    thank you.
    i love all your videos keep doing it.

    great video man!!!
    but quick question, with all this going on, why does one usually feel very tired/ sleepy after eating then?
    Isnt glycolysis occurring which means energy?

    • @evasmiljanic3529
      @evasmiljanic3529 8 лет назад +2

      true but larger amounts of blood are diverted to your digestive system, leaving less for muscle and other organs, as well as the fact that your digestive system does use up energy to process and absorb nutrients.

    Hey Armando, I learn so much from your videos. What textbook do you reference for your physiology videos? I ask because it seems like you have a very good grasp of the concepts because you can explain things in your own words clearly. Thanks!

    Hey armando what about hunger and starving state?

  • @hadaryepyepyep123
    @hadaryepyepyep123 7 лет назад

    I cant undesrtand something:if ghrelin is been produced when the stomach is empty ,and the stomach empties after 3 to 4 hours,thus we feel hungry at that time. So does that mean the the food hangs out in the stomach all this time then we feel hungry again but simultaneously the food goes to the small intestine . But in the small intestine horomones of satiety are been produces......that does not make any sense.... thanks

    Hello! How does the insulin affects the absorption of glucose?

  • @burndead
    @burndead 9 лет назад

    I have a question in regards of being fed. We do know that blood glucose rises and reach its pick levels 1-2 hours after taking a meal. So is it good to eat in that time window when your insulin is in highest numbers or is it bad?

    • @holkangel
      @holkangel 6 лет назад

      The body starts producing insulin before and as you are eating by incretins. I would say it does not matter - if you are healthy, the body copes fine.
