    Never again worry about getting stranded with a dead battery! Antigravity Batteries introduces the ground-breaking "RE-START (RS)" line of batteries - the first batteries with built-in jump starting! The revolutionary RE-START Battery intelligently monitors its status, and just before going completely dead puts itself to sleep with just enough energy to get your vehicle started again. Simply press the RE-START button located on the battery, start your vehicle and drive away... No more dead battery emergencies or being stranded!
    The Re-Start Battery is an extremely lightweight and high-power Lithium-Ion replacement for the heavy lead/acid battery found in many motorcycles including most every Enduro bike on the market. Additionally offers the first FULL Battery Management System (BMS) found on a Powersport Battery and includes low-voltage cut-off, over discharge, over-charge, and thermal protections with real time lithium-ion cell balancing.

    Nice restart feature on the Gravity batteries with the button. You don't want to use a battery charger with a de-sulphate cycle (which can damage a lithium battery), otherwise a plain charger is just fine, like any Battery Tender cheaper model. After all the battery is being charged by the motorcycles single source plain charging system in use so special lithium "balancing" chargers and such are not needed. EarthX lithium batteries have also had low voltage/over-discharge protection BMS system since 2014.

    Battery tender brand also has a smart battery management system that does the same thing as the recharge of the anti-gravity battery

    I have the ATZ10 that is 3 years old on a 2016 XSR900. I bought bike used and prior owner said he just installed battery 2 months prior to my purchase, but taking him at his word. Bike has not been started in 2 months and in very mild winter climate (Houston area) stored inside garage. I hit the "restart" and it had enough juice to turn on power to the dash, but not enough to turn over engine (tried to turn over for about 4 seconds then completely dead). I take partial responsibility because I should have started it up every couple weeks, but moral of my story is the restart technology did not work.

    Does the internal bms limit charging current rate based on (cold) temperature? These lifepo4 batteries can discharge at cold temperatures, but near freezing temps they can be damaged by too much charge current. Already understand methods of warming w/load and external heat devices.

    • @bmickle
      @bmickle 5 лет назад

      Can you link to anything explaining this (too much charge current at freezing temps being bad)? I just had a Tusk lithium battery die on me while snowbiking in -5F weather this weekend... I've been thinking my regulator or stator is bad but this is the first I've heard making me think it was the temps...

      @@bmickle Yeah I think I emailed them in the past, I believe they said they didn't have any smart to limit charging at cold temps..either. I don't think any of them actually do, yet.

      @@unionse7en I talked to them (Kathy?) for 35 mins yesterday. Their BMS does use temp as an input. So if charging circuit from bike is putting out 200w (thats 14v * ~14.3Amps), when at a very low temps the BMS limits the total incoming amps to prevent coating the anode. Also, it's dependent on the battery cell temperature, not outdoor temperature. Which when there's a load on the battery it does warm up so the BMS will increase input amperage as the cells warm up from use. Also I isolated the issue with my current LiFePO4 battery to a bad cell :(

    I'm perplexed. The last line in the description states "Use only Lithium specific Motorsport Chargers to charge this battery! Do not use Lead/Acid Chargers." My OEM battery is a lead AGM. How is my charging system on my 2009 Kawasaki Concour 1400 going to charge this?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 года назад

      That is referring to battery chargers or tenders that you plug into the wall, not the charging system on your motorcycle. Not all battery chargers/tenders work with lithium batteries.

      @@jamesakridge6786 It was weird, it has a BMS system, so you should be already to hook it up to any battery charger. I don't have a dedicated lithium charger so a hooked it up to my regular battery tender. It wouldn't register as connected, it stay red. I left it for a while with no result. Then i hooked it up to the tender and hit the re-start button,.. the tender light turned green and it started charging. Only had it hooked up for maybe 10 mins, disconnected and it read as 12.5v. Put it in the bike and started right up. Not great in the cold though. I'm think I'm supposed to warm up the battery but not exactly sure how to do that. I've turned the starter on and off a couple times, put the high beams on for 1 min, just to get the battery on (warm), but still sluggish with a large voltage drop. When its warm outside it cranks hard though. Hope this helps

Nothing will beat a lithium battery but again money for some is the deciding factor. For many performance is the deciding factor. All depends at what level of performance you are seeking

      I looked up for my car and it was nearly 700 for a group 24. I want a smaller one and don't need the crazy high cranking amps. So their atx-20-hd fits nicely with 900CA and a 400 dollar price tag. A little more expensive than an optima yellow, but longer lasting.
