- Bill Hotchkiss, the Head of Safety and Supplier Quality from General Motors, stopped by The Nine to talk about what things you should consider if you've thought about making the switch to an electric vehicle.
don't forget to make a note that you may sit behind a closed building by yourself. why does he say to plug it in every night if you go 30 miles but claims a charge lasts 300+ miles. Wouldn't that damage the battery over time with overcharging. Piles of junk they are hiding all around Detroit area in empty malls and other parking lots
If you can't charge at home, you lose most of the great economic advantage of the electric vehicle. Commercial charging costs more, a lot more, you'll find it's almost as expensive as gas.
We all know ETHANAL IS NOT GAS...
I OWN B.P.❤❤❤
WHAT IF ETHANAL GETS IN POWER GRID???
You will always have range anxiety even with a charger at home. If you never travel that may be the only exception. An EV is not emissions free. Something made the electric.
I had a lot more range anxiety with my old Ford Ranger than my BMW I3. Also lots more mechanical failure anxiety.
@@kc4cvh I can't speak to your mechanical failure anxiety caused by your Ranger, but to say you had more range anxiety with it as compared to your BMW EV is a flat out lie you are telling. Now, come clean.
@@duradim1 I had a lot of range anxiety with the Ford Ranger, especially in the Dubya years when the price of gas soared to $5 a gallon. With the I3, it consistently handles my 72-mile business day with an ample reserve at the end. Then I plug in and the next morning I always leave with a "full tank". Regular as clockwork.
He paints a pretty picture of EVs , but in the " real world " , they are garbage !
How many miles have you logged in an electric vehicle? I'm not usually swayed by individuals who have little knowledge and no experience but lots of opinions.
