Rest In Peace to Adolfo Gutierrez Quinones professionally known as Shabba-Doo, he died on December 30, 2020 at the age of 65 years old and he was born on May 11, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, he was an actor, dancer and choreographer and he will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues, fans and World, he was also one of the innovators of the dance style commonly known as locking and he was of Black and Puerto Rican descent, I love him and he is the best.
R.I.P ❤🙏🏾
How did he pass?
@@cerealis_5432 I believe COVID complications...even though the Day before he was on IG saying he was C19 free &feeling better from a Cold he had...something about that whole video/scenario seems soooo SUS to me🤔🤔🤔😒👀😑😒😒😒😒😒 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
He was married to Lela Rochon!!!
I remember him and the Lockers group. He was a staple on the show during his tenure. Always looked forward to seeing him. Sorry to learn of his passing. Didn't know he was married to Lela Rochon either.
OMG!!! Shabba-Doo Still Fine at 63
Yes he is!
Fine wine never spoils....it settles just right....looking like Cab Calloway 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
63?? damn brother popped and locked his way into some ageless dimension.
Vanessa ButtuhFly yea he could play Cab Calloway effortlessly
Stones Jones LOL 😂 Soon will be 64
Who’s here after hearing the sad loss of Adolfo Ozone Quinones 😢
It's crazy he just posted a picture on his FB account a day before he passed. RIP handsome
i wished he would have repped his latino side more. he used to be a latin king gang member before he moved to l.a. in the early 70's.
@@deepstate3358 I thought he did so much before. I was wondering if he was going to acknowledge his blackness in more than passing. Different perspectives and aside from culture, could be same genetics.
@@deepstate3358 lies u are telling, he was never part of a “gang” only a dance crew. Shame on you!!!
Noooo dang what an awesome start and move his mother made, that man is so fine 😌☺️ and the great Don(Cornelius) strikes again! Rest in power Kings👑👑
If you haven’t heard, Shabba Doo died today Dec. 30....May he Rest In Peace
Shabba-Doo is one of the all time top five street dancers! You're a legend brotha, Ozone!
Definitly masterpiece of this shit
For real 😏 That's a genuine Chi Town brother right there 👍🏼
YESSSSIRRRR!!!!!
back then yea but today be a nobody
He has aged like fine wine...like for real.

SAY that!
YES!☺
Chile, you aint said NOTHIN!!! That brotha is all kinds of fine, yesss!!!
Bev,
I don't know you from "back then"...
but, you sure are fine, now.
Yes ma'am! I had a crush on him back in the day!
His mom was so thoughtful and supportive to move him and his sister to L.A. I also love how sincere of an interview he is giving. Very nice!
They was gang bangin in Chicago had to get out!!! They was in the projects Cabrini Green!
I have watched several of these "i was a Soul Train dancer and every running theme is about those chicken dinners!🍗🤔
@@shellybaby5th 😂😂😂😂
@Branden Walker what for chicken dinners from KFC?? Shut your negative ass up. She didn't wanna see her kids strung out on drugs or in a coffin from gang violence in Chicago.
REST IN PEACE SHABBA DOO
RIP Shabba Doo. A legend. Gone, but never forgotten.
RIP Shabadoo. Can’t believe you’re gone. :(
*Tears*
I love how Shabba doo embraces proudly his blackness 👌
Ikr!
He Is half Puerto Rican hence the last name Quiñones
@@eugeniofernandez8101 I know that but during his segment he was stated his blackness, most mixed race folks are afraid to embrace their black side i.e The Rock
@John Edwards I did not say The Rock was ashamed of his black side, i said he doesn't embrace his black culture, there's nothing wrong with embracing black culture, it's a beautiful thing
@John Edwards if black culture to you is daishikis and afros there's no need for this back and forth, good day to you sir 🙂
Rosie Perez said the same thing about dancing on Soul Train. Lol. They would get paid in chicken instead of money. Dancing all day. That is hard work. They deserved to be paid money. Don was wrong.
No wonder he died the way he did.....why did he not pay people??? You are commanded to pay your workers.
Hmmm stereotype even then. No protest I guess
@@SuperMatrix59 what?
@@SuperMatrix59 wtf does that mean Dirk?
@@SuperMatrix59 anything to justify the murder of black people.
It's not a competition.
Rest in Power Shabba-Doo. You were a HUGH part of my teenage years.
YES
Wait this guy danced on Soul Train in 1971 and he looks like that in 2020!
Oh Yes
That caught my eye too🤔
So he is 63 years old now right? Damn he looks fine....
65 in May 2020
He said a mouthful! They weren't dancing for the money...they were dancing for the people our culture🤗 #FUBU Those were the best days! Never to come again...
I thought the same thing. He spoke truth. As a kid that is the sentiment i had watching ST every Saturday afternoon. This is OUR show for OUR people and it was fabulous. We had a show here in Detroit called The Scene. It was the local version of ST and it was the same thing...showcasing and celebrating OUR culture. Never to be duplicated.
@@angelstar7656 Thanks for your comment! Yes those were the best days ever! In Philly we had the Georgie Woods Show, Soul Train came right after and erase that... But as long as I live I'll never forget Georgie Woods the Guy with the Goods🤗
I get that but you need money to survive nobody wants to work for free even if it’s something you love
@@angelstar7656 i wanted to dance on The Scene so badly when i was a kid!!! you're right----nothing like that will ever exist again. even when The New Dance Show followed, it just wasn't the same....
True passion is doing it for free. A real trailblazer and trendsetter
No one did it better! - RIP
RIP...just learned of his passing from Toni Basil 🙏🙏🙏
So sad
Toni Basil "Hey Mickey!" Toni Basil?
And he was married to "Sunshine"! Wow
R. Russell ,easy rider movie too
I didn't know that either! SHE formed the group! Wow learn something new everyday!
She choreographed the dancing for Tarantino's new movie too. She's about as legendary as american dancers get.
@@milesgeary9213 did not know that
Toni Basil is like 73 or 74 today and still going strong with the dancing. You can find her here on YT.
Loved this man’s style. 😍 Especially in Chaka Khan’s “I Feel For You”
Yeah turbo killed it
That's what I'm talkin' about. He made this SONG elevate to another level for CHAKA!! SO COOL!!
That's what I really remember him for. I vaguely remember the lockers on Soul Train when I was little but by '84 I was 15 and has seen him in Breakin' and all the breakdancing videos.
I played that song every morning for years
Yesssss indeed baby!!! Rip Ozone u will be missed
R.I.P to Adolfo "Shabba-Doo" Quiñones.
Someone else from my childhood is gone. 2020 can go blank itself.
Rest in Power young prince.
You've made quite an impact.
One of the greatest break dancers EVER period💯👑
Today, December 29 2021, marks ONE year since you transitioned from this world, Shabba Doo. The 🌍 hasn't been the same without you here, in it. I pray you're at peace, my dear friend...🙏🏽🥀💔
Wow - so sad that we lost him; I'm very grateful that this interview was conducted before he left us - thank you for this. RIP, Mr. Quinones, thank you for your heart.
As black people we need Soul Train back
LEEJ would not be the same mostly overly thick fake azz girls twerking to rap music it would be boring
Importantly we need the soul back in the music.
@@skyone4950 it's funny how the media convinced us that being fat (a bad thing) was being 'thick' (a good thing). Our women have the best bodies in the world but you wouldn't know it because they've been brainwashed into thinking that it's OK to cover it in layers of -fat- 'thick'.
@@skyone4950 easy fix ..... limit all that OR tell them if they can't dance .... THEY CAN'T BE ON THE SHOW!!! Girls in the past shook a lil sum sum but it wasn't the full all out nasty of today.

Shabba Doo & Lela Rochon 😍
Lela Rochon
Rip Adolpho “Shabba doo” Quinones. May you keep dancing in heaven.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
RIP to a legend. Prayers to his family and friends.
Shabba Doo was also one of the dancers for Madonna's "Who's that Girl" world tour and also appeared on the "Who's that Girl" music video.
HE also Did a episode of Married with Children as Rock Video Chroegrapher
Yeah he sure was, I think he dated Madonna too for a minute. She was known for dating her backup dancers lol.
OMG, I never knew he was married to Lela Rochon. I remember him from Breakin glad Soul Train spotlighted some gifted and talented artists that went on to bigger things.
I knew about Rerun, being a Locker and him being married to Lela Rochon.
But I didn't have any idea about Toni Basil being a part of the Lockers at all. Wow.
Exactly! But she keeps herself up and in shape. I think she's still pop'lockin at cloes to 70 yo

Shabbadoo was and still is FINE!!
Still looking good.
Back in the day I had a huge crush on him.
Omg talk about fine sexy and talented he was amazing I still love him Ozone lol verrrrrry talented and dance his butt off
He was always such a dope dancer during the 70's and 80's, he took ownership in his interpretation, he was great in Breakin 1 and 2,also I had no idea that he was married to Lela Rachon, wow
It's very heartfelt to see some of these original dancers speaking and sharing their stories after all these years!!! I grew up watching them perform every Saturday. And he's right--seeing our blackness and creativity sparked a positive shift in Black America!!! Soul Train helped to make that change!
He looked like a young, hip Cab Calloway
He sure did and was still fine at 65!!!
Love him still to this day, Puertorican love afro latino ♡♡♡♡♡
Gotta love Afro and Boriqua
🇵🇷
Yes, he told me that his father is Boricua & his mother was Ethiopian. I was friends with him back in the early 90s when I moved from NYC to LA. We use to workout together in Studio City & Bally's gym. It was actually me him, Michael De Lorenzo. 3 Puerto Rican's staying in shape.

@@BreuckelensFinest Ethiopian? He is of Black American heritage. An Ethiopian single mother in Chicago Cabrini green housing projects of the 70s? That don’t add up. Black American by way of Mississippi to Chicago.

And Breakin the movie was and still one of my favorites ✌🏿🎼
Wow ! So cool to see someone who's clearly Latino refer to himself as a proud Black person. Love it !
You are aware that blacks come in all shades and colors? If I had a penny for everyone who’s asked me was I mixed or Latino I’d be a billionaire. All black smh
not sure why it's called into question under this comment of whether or not you understand that Latino/Hispanic are NOT a RACES, since so many Latinos and Hispanics LEAD, identify with and LEAN into their ETHNICITY and their NATIONALITIES, NOT their RACE. it's not a dig, it's simply the truth of the matter. let's NOT be obtuse, here....
He's actually half Puerto Rican and half Ethiopian.
@@blissmermaid7051 I just looked it up and it said that his father was Puerto Rican and his mother was African American. So, *that's* why he has no problem saying he's black, because he actually is part African American. Cool !
@@christopherdieudonne that's still a Nationality and a RACE and i don't understand why this makes sense to people....IJS....
