Whoever came up with this amazing idea to tell these stories, please please please, get someone to turn this into a documentary(film)! Prwtty please! So important, so crucial for history, crucial for this generation. Oh my goodness, what an era! I was growing up all the way in Ghana, and all my friends that participated in disco dance competitions every weekend, would crowd in my poor mom's living room, just for 30mins to watch SOUL TRAIN! We learned, the steps like our lives dependend on this, I remember telling people that Don Cornelius was my relative, becos he looked so much like an Ashanti man, and a couple of "inrants" believed me too. Hahaha! When I got to the states, all I wanted to do was go to a soul train show. Didnt even know where it was. In the states, I never missed a show...oooo I could go on and on. There's none other than this era! Anyone who didnt grow up in the 70s 80s, never lived, and definitely never saw, pure, unadulterated youthful fun fun fun! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️aaaw, what can I say

Idk Alex Thomas danced on Soul Train back in the 1980s! Thats why hes so animated in his comedy. He's right about the dress code in dressing casual and fly. Nothing wrong with a pair of cortez's, jeans etc, you can be fly in that too) but most sisters checked for bros in the casual slacks, button ups or solid tees with a pair of sebago's, nunn bush or patent leather shoes or a fresh pair of tennis shoes (nike, adidas, kswiss, reebok). Im glad theyre extending these soul train dancer series in relation as a part of American Soul series on BET. American Soul needs to be brought back

This was a good episode! I did not know that he danced - I remember him from Comic View and Players Club. The Wayans (In Living Color) opened the doors for a LOT of people. ❤

Even though it was the 90s Alex gear was on point. It don't look too out dated. He was dressed fresh.

@@diezel44 lol we came up at a very interesting time in history. We were born into cassette tape players, walkmans, and beepers/pagers. And by the time we graduated high school there was smartphones WiFi and social media . I always tell people that our generation has seen more rapid technology changes than any other!

This is so nice to see. I've always known him as a comedian and actor. Nice that he started on Soul Train.
The nice fun fact was him dancing with Omarion's mom.
    Please continue these

Affion Crocket, who is a famous comedian, was a ST dancer, too. Also, Vivica Fox.

I didn't know him as a S.T. dancer either. I just know him from different movies and I always got a kick out him cause he was always funny. Anyway I'm glad he got assisted by the Wayans into the business. God bless him.

He’s one of my favorite comedians! I always tell people, if Soul Train had stayed in Chicago I would’ve made history, lol. I would be a legit Soul Train Icon….sigh I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
