    What I have learned about mixing is that once it gets to the ear of the people it really doesn't matter as long as it's professional whatever that means. In this case, if they can feel the song, they can get into the vibe of the song is all that matters. What constitutes a good mix when all instruments sound different in different spaces and vocals sound different but you can hear the artist.
    The main thing is are the levels right.

    So much good stuff there man. Would definitely love to see how you approach tuning drums as I use an app and then tweak until it sounds good but it's such an art as much as a science.

After I learn this Drum Balancing and proper routing is why I use electronic drum kits otherwise I would NOT be Able to do my "Thing". FAN is Inspired it IS a Zoo out there !

    No wrong answers! Jimmy page used one of Bonahm' OH mics to record his guitar and they forgot to put it back and now there's the Glyn Jons technique. That could've been called wrong.

  • @peterbondmusic

    Lots of good and true advice here. I like what you're saying about needing to understand the artist and project -- "you need to try to work with people that you genuinely get behind and the artistic things they're trying to do, because it is so hard to fake your way through a project that you hate". Indeed. In fact I can't work on a project if I don't believe in at all or understand it. Early on in my career I learned to walk away from those situations... also because I know that if I don't get it, I'm not going to do good work, it's all about collaboration as you say.

    • @RecordingStudioLoser
      @RecordingStudioLoser  5 месяцев назад +1

      Exactly. My pragmatic side came out early on. To just do those projects. But it didn’t do anything for me. Or for that artist to try to force a relationship that didn’t work.

    I am at the point where I am in the Not Pick Voterx of everything I do. Not even sure how to just get to the music some days. Trusting myself is one thing. Picking it apart looking for a possibility of something better is another. Bottom line I stick with it.

      I currently have the new Twins (ST6). I wanted the new Trios, but I am using the Twins with the sub6 and don’t think my room could handle much more. I love the Focal sound. I think the only thing I would upgrade to would be ATC, but I’m already happy with what I have.

    • @RecordingStudioLoser

      I started getting these ticks. I thought my desk was settling like a woody knock sound.
      When they would happen I notice my center was messed up. I don’t really know what’s happening but It seems like the clock or timing would get off when those ticks would happen and really screw me up.
      If you can’t trust center it’s all over.
      There were work around. But I also never got an answer from Dutch and Dutch…. Focal reached out for me to try these and so far I’m really happy.
