Dude. Been fishing my whole life but never much for catfish. Tonight I went out for catfish and got a bag of frozen shrimp from walmart and the dead spray stuff you used and my daughter and I caught 4 nice eaters in an hour an a half. I call that a good evening fishing! Thank you!
I usually keep the tail one, and feed the hook through shrimp. This way the tail helps keep the bait on and you don't gotta worry about the fish grabbing the bait so that it won't pull the bait off
I use the same shrimp. Using them soaked in garlic little olive oil, and red jello. Let set for a day. Fla. Fisherman. 85 year old . Bait thrower. Catch nice channels.
I First time in using shrimp bought a bag of raw shrimp from Walmart put them in a freezer bag with garlic salt and onion powder old bay seasoning for three days on the back of the truck went out this morning caught nine nice blue cats I'm talking about the smell was all I can say is wow
One thing you should try that I saw another popular fishing youtuber do when he was river fishing in a current using shrimp was he took his circle hook and hooked the shrimp so that the hook and shrimp basically became one with a little of the tip and barb exposed out of the end but when he did that he kind of weaved the hook into it by zig zagging it back and forth to make the shrimps muscle fibers basically grip onto the hook and hold tighter. Seemed to be a good idea Im about to try it here in like 20 minutes itll also be my first time ever trying shrimp for catfishing and Ive been fishing for over 25 years now 😂
I use shrimp all the time here in Illinois, but I use raw shrimp that comes frozen in a bag like that. Seems to have a bit of stronger scent and is a little firmer on the hook. But great video!
Thank you! Believe me, I’ve heard plenty about the difference between the two and I appreciate you being polite about it ☺️. I’m going to make a video about the raw shrimp because I used it quite often this spring. I sauce it up with lunker lotion and the channel cats go bananas for it. Thank you for watching! ☮️
im live near lockport with tons of catfish that average around 20-30 pounds. the top baits that always work for me are shrip(more raw the better), fresh cutbait (goldeye, mooneye, tullibee or any other junk fish), and any type of liver.
@@fishingwithdom1657 I pretty much use any dipping stink bait I get at Walmart specifically Hog Wild, it's pretty cheap and easy. However I also make my own which actually works the best in my opinion.
Yep, best by test, I put it on my twenty ounce drift bottles while kayaking in the spring and load up. Frozen shrimp does better than shad, liver or anything else I've ever used.
Great video dude! I love using those great value shrimps but i like to use raw instead of cooked. Also, i have had great success by threading the shrimp onto my circle hook so the point comes out the thin side of it. Watch out for turtles tho, they are some damn bait thieves!!
I like to hook or through the shrimp so the shrimp and the hook look the same shape. I just think it helps with hooking the fish because almost anyway they bite it they’ll get hooked.
Just a suggestion I use the entire shrimp I follow the shape of the hook and by the tail I’ll let the hook end Slightly exposed you could probably use the same shrimp a half a dozen times
Good video! Check this out, get raw shrimp. Raw shrimp will far out fish cooked shrimp. Just my experience. As far as scent I use Pautzke's Liquid Krill.
@@ucuttmyballz2210 I need to see store brand, I use the alive fresh one, i just wanna see if store brand works so I could give it a test, but when a shrimp is dead then I put garlic powder on it

Exactly what I do
Better chance of the hook grabbing the fish during the set as well.

Thank you! I’ll have to give it a shot :)
I let the shrimp sit out in the sun for four or five hours then take it

I always leave them in the sun for a bit to get them a little stinky 😆 🤣

I use the same technique however I dip my shrimp in my favorite stink bait as well. Gets em everytime !! 💪💯
Oooo- I like the way you think!!
@@fishingwithdom1657 My gift to you my friend. It also works great with night crawlers fished on the bottom. 👍💯
@@stardust1621 what’s your favorite dip bait?

I'm about to be fishing lake.seminole and got a big thing of frozen shrimp. I cant find that spray but hopefully I hook up to a monster today :)

I’ll be sure to try that, especially the Pautzke. I’ve used their catfish nectar and I love it!
I prefer unshelled raw shrimp, but either way I always use raw. I thread the hook through like a twister tail jig.
I’m going to have to try them both out side by side! Done well with both, though. Thanks for watching!
I like uncooked shell on too with a circle hook. Shell seems to keep it from being stolen.
bro i be getting bangers with shrimp on these tiny ass hooks it's unreal
Trying this tonight
Shrimp soaked in worcestershire and garlic ...
All available at the grocery store.
👍
Ive always heard raw shrimp works better than cooked...
Just let it sit in the sun and there's no difference
My go to bait for Catfish is chicken liver.
