I use the exact recipe but with sardine oil with olive oil. Does great for cats in the 10lbs range. Guys talk big talk about cut bait. But if you're fishing ponds or rivers making up some cheap bait is best.
switch you chicken breast out for chicken gizzards, gizzards hold way better on the hook, and can be used for a couple of fish, switch your olive oil out for peanut oil, switch your whole cloves of garlic to the minced garlic in oil you can get in a jar at food lion, max 3 dollars. chicken gizzards are about 2-3 dollars a pack if that, let set outside for a few hours in the heat, then stick in the fridge in a couple of zip lock bags. you're welcome.
@@mtarmygrd it's about min/maxing your bait....CG is cheaper to get, and can go through several fish strikes and hold on the hook better then your run of the mill chicken breast. you can fish with peanut butter bread balls, and peanut butter boilies, switching to a peanut based product adds that little more to the game. switching out the whole garlic to a minced in oil, the garlic has permeated the oil already, less soak time, the oil is a transition fluid for the bait and adds extra amino acid to the water with the CG. you let it sit outside to break down, letting the aminos in all the products to come together. there is a difference in upping your game to big fish standards, and piddling around with minnows...listen to experienced people and stop taking stabs at them armature, you might learn something and get better bites...-.-

I use jello instead of kool-aid but I hate to burst your bubble people have been using this mix for a while now I've been using it for at least 5 years and I agree it works great
Don't let anyone discourage you about using chicken just because it's easy to catch at the grocery store does not mean it's not a good bait it is actually one of the best page you can use if you're fishing tidal waters over clam beds for blue cats is not worth a s*** for flatheads but you will eventually catch a trophy size blue cat
Kool-aid sticks better then jello. I use kinda same recipe Lil tip I do kayro syrup in hot sauce with mix you made IDK why but hot sauce drives them crazy. Kayro just helps hold seasoning longer.
I’ve been fishing for trophy cats for over 20 years, and fishing in general for over 30, and in all those years I’ve never caught a single decent catfish on chicken. I’ve caught a few channel cats and a few bullhead, but that is literally it. I’ve tried with and without kook aid, with and without garlic, and every other combination I could think of, and nothing. Maybe you the catfish in Texas just have a more refined appetite than here in Ohio. I’ve caught a 106 pounder, a 98 pounder, and ten more over 50 lbs, and every single one of them were caught on live bait. I’m going to the paylake tomorrow. I will make some of this to your specifications and let you know if I catch anything. This might work in the paylake, but I can’t see it working in the Ohio river
Might or might not work in ur area. But to be honest this bait has never steered me wrong. I catch fish every single time. Whether in a lake. Pond. Stream. Don’t matter
I don't even bother with chicken; I just use hot dogs with kool-aid and a little garlic powder. It's by far the best catfish bait I've ever used, and not just for channels either. I've had a bunch of 15-20lb flatheads, and it works just as well for carp (and striped bass) too.
What's with the koolaid and oil I've used just plain chicken breast and minced garlic or just plain breast and caught catfish in the 30 and 40 pound range.
Color, sweetness and it pulls out moisture from chicken a bit. I’m planning on doing and updated video that shows how strawberry jello works. It works even better than kool aid.
I went catfishing for the first time yesterday downtown Minneapolis a spot most people don't think has any good cats. Caught two bullhead a 2 pound channel and a 10 pound channel all on shrimp I soaked in vanilla extract overnight
Try taking that chicken liver and adding it all into the mix and let it marinade. THEN take the chicken liver out and put it in a food processor or blender and use some of the juices from the chicken breast in the container to add to the liver along with some more garlic and some flour to form a thick paste. Using a small blade knife to make a pocket in each piece of chicken and stuff with the paste mixture. Place hook across pocket to keep paste inside while casting. Paste will leach out as bait sits on lake bottom, attracting the fish as it permeates the area with the smell and taste of the paste.
I have a friend that puts trotlines out and swears by grape koolaid.I would use a lot bigger baits since there are very big catfish in the area I live in.
We tried your bait today it was absolutely positively fantastic. The only problem we had is that when my son set the rod down on a 4' rail, it was a 6' rod, As the fish went to hit the bait we didn't have an opportunity to catch the rod as the remaining 5' of the rod flew out over the rail 12' into the water. Don't know how big the fish was but it had to have been pretty darn big. We did however hook up on some 4 and 5 pound catfish in North Carolina
Many years ago we got rained out at work and a couple of us went river fishing below a dam. One of the guys is telling the story of going to kmart the night before. He said he had this new fishing reel and wanted to buy a rod for it but his wife insisted they couldn't afford it. He said he bought it anyway. He had barely told the story when his rod propped up by the tansom shot upward about ten feet and then flew at least fifty feet down river before ever hitting the water. I'm guessing it was a massive alligator gar because there were some well over a hundred pounds swimming around.
Lol. Hopefully you're trolling. If you think chicken is good bait just wait till you try fresh cutbait from a skipjack or shad. My first time using skipjack was on the Ohio river at the greenup dam. I caught a 54 and 70lb flathead. That was over twenty years ago. Since then I've caught countless fish 50 plus lbs. Any serious fisherman knows I'm just stating facts. If you use zebco 33's and fish with Wal-Mart bait you'll catch Wal-Mart quality fish. (Dinks) If you want trophys try what I said. You'll be surprised.
@@FredExvideo nah just honestly wanted to help this guy start catching real trophy fish instead of dinks like you. Still no video of those giant chicken cats huh Fred? Nope. And you never will. Why wouldn't you just use a red food coloring, have you tried that and it doesn't work or something? It looks really cool but it just seems like the cherry flavor would throw them off,I want to try it but I just thought is seemed so crazy lol
Instead instead of having to worry about catching fish for bail or buying them. Just make one big batch of this and keep it in the fridge for months. U will have bait to last to catch an immense number of fish.
@@FredExvideo I understand your point. Pre made bait is nice for those who are too lazy to catch fresh bait or maybe thier water system doesn't produce fresh bait always. I'm fortunate that I can walk out my back door, through a cast net 1 time, and have all the fresh bait I need year round.
I will certainly try this bait. Let me give you a tip on another excellent bait. Take chicken breasts like the ones you demonstrated, cut them up exactly the same way, and soak them in anise. Let them soak for a day. I've caught Catfish out of lakes, ponds, and rivers with this bait. It is not messy, doesn't stink (smells like liquorice) and you will get bites when nobody else does!!!
In my experience you just can't beat cut/live bait or good old chicken livers. And I rhink chicken livers are underrated in terms of the size catfish you can land off of them. But both baits work better than anything I've ever used and I've used a lot of experimental baits.
The Kool-Aid Is Good But The Jello Is Way Better!!!!! The Jello Pulls Out The Excess Moisture From The Chicken & Making It A Lot Tougher For The Catfish To Simply Suck It Off The Hook. It Even Works On The Chicken Livers Too!!!! Tougher Baits Equals Better Hook Sets Equals More Fish 🐟
I Thinks only in Indonesia catfish bait are made from chicken, cheese, egg, etc. 😂 You can try fermentation bait from egg and bread crumbs, in tournament fishing pool, catfish are very love that bait 😅 usually I add snake eggs to make them rotten but fragrant
Hey brother, that bait is something different the catfish loved it and I caught a couple nice ones. If u have a email send it to me and I will send u pictures. Thks again!!!
Definitely does. I add minced garlic to the hotdogs let um sit in the sun 10 minutes and add a dab of anchovy procure & 🍇 kool aid. Kills the channels from July to Christmas

I've tried that, didn't have much luck. You can check out "muddy river catfishing" channel. His bait is called chicken liver chum bait. He uses sardine oil and chicken liver, blends it up, and then uses chicharones. I've only tried it once but it didn't work. At Walmart you can buy beef liver for cheap and it has alot of blood.

@@EliteNugz i see you are lurkin like a gurkin. mr pickle boy
@@FredExvideo nah just honestly wanted to help this guy start catching real trophy fish instead of dinks like you. Still no video of those giant chicken cats huh Fred? Nope. And you never will. Hey by the way. I caught a 5, 7, and 10 pound largemouth bass a few days ago. Not the teener I was looking for but at least they wasn't yearlings like you fish for. Peace Fred.
@@EliteNugz that’s good eating. I wouldn’t want to catch breeders. Take another dab or smoke a blunt. I see ur still an asshole.
@@FredExvideo so now you're trying to act like you purposely try and catch tiny fish. Lol.
Why wouldn't you just use a red food coloring, have you tried that and it doesn't work or something? It looks really cool but it just seems like the cherry flavor would throw them off,I want to try it but I just thought is seemed so crazy lol
So much work for catching catfish. I have never had a problem with fresh cut bait...
@@Skank_Hunt42 to each his own. I live in Fort Worth. The city part. So it’s a little tougher for me as I’d rather just make my bait.
Ya down here in Texes u said not in Kentucky can't get noting
What is the purpose of rinsing off the chicken breasts?
There really is not a purpose. Just a habit type thing
Gonna mix up some of this and try it this week. Also going to try hotdogs.
Do a comparison. I’d like to know how you do on both baits!!
it doesn't hurt to try, good job 2T up .
Nothings better than live bluegill or cut bait.
What flavor coolaid??
This dude must be cool,he got beer taps in da kitchen! Howdy from Mineral Wells,Texas.
It’s a Texas thang!!
Good for him
I will try it the catfish down below my house are finicky they like sandwich ham and bologna.
Very nice, buddy! 🎣🐟
Great video but it didn't work here in south central Oklahoma.
Gourmet fish bait.. nice
Great video, thanks for the bait recipes. I just don't understand youtubbers feel they have to have background music at least his was that loud.
Do you keep it out of the fridge or in
You can yes. I like to keep some in the freezer so it lasts for a long time.
Flavored with the liver is a good idea thank you
I chop hit dogs and use Hawaiian Punch Berry Blue (my best luck). I've caught channel cats and rainbow trout on it
I will certainly try this bait.
Ok did you put water in
This recipe is awesome the cats killed it! Got my pb.
See comments like this!! This what it’s all about!! Love it! Gps you liked the recipe and it worked for you. 🔥🙏🏼
In my experience you just can't beat cut/live bait or good old chicken livers. And I rhink chicken livers are underrated in terms of the size catfish you can land off of them. But both baits work better than anything I've ever used and I've used a lot of experimental baits.
I agree
Wonder if this also works for European Catfishes.
Thanks for your video 👍
Do you think a hotdog would work instead of chicken.
Hot dog will definitely work. The process is a a bit different. You have to leave in the fridge with hot dogs for a little extra time
@@FredExvideo also how long is the shelf life on the bait
@@agkdds3278 I kept mine the fridge for like months on end. The stinkier and more rotten the better. The catfish love that.
Irish spring work well ASD
The Kool-Aid Is Good But The Jello Is Way Better!!!!! The Jello Pulls Out The Excess Moisture From The Chicken & Making It A Lot Tougher For The Catfish To Simply Suck It Off The Hook. It Even Works On The Chicken Livers Too!!!! Tougher Baits Equals Better Hook Sets Equals More Fish 🐟
I just dry jello powder right?
Also berry cherry koolaid makes deeper bloody red color and works well at local Cincitucky lakes
I use this when we take the boat out.. always catch fish
I Thinks only in Indonesia catfish bait are made from chicken, cheese, egg, etc. 😂
You can try fermentation bait from egg and bread crumbs, in tournament fishing pool, catfish are very love that bait 😅 usually I add snake eggs to make them rotten but fragrant
How about a cut up succer,or a cut up slime rocket,or I mean a rainbow trout.
Just found this video & I’m going out tomorrow catfishing will let u know how it goes. And by the I subscribe to your channel Thks for the tip
Thank you so much! You won’t be disappointed. It’s a great bait!!
I will let u know how it works out for me tomorrow brother. And Thks again!!!
Hey brother, that bait is something different the catfish loved it and I caught a couple nice ones. If u have a email send it to me and I will send u pictures. Thks again!!!
@@WAVY718 yes!! That’s what I love to hear! Yes send them to danktypebeat@gmail.com
I been using grape cool aid and cut hotdogs for years works great!
Definitely does. I add minced garlic to the hotdogs let um sit in the sun 10 minutes and add a dab of anchovy procure & 🍇 kool aid. Kills the channels from July to Christmas
I have a bait that works great on catfish good video
I have had good luck with just koolaid but I like your method I will give it a shot
My Guy, i want proof that your recipe works for catching catfish. Plz do a follow up video.
Peep out the comments thread I dropped a video of it working on my catfishing channel
Wow very nice video.
Your recipe is excellent. It is almost exactly what I use except I add Vanilla extract( make sure it is the kind with alcohol) Thanks for a nice video.
Really Like this video my friend 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍,,,greetings from indonesia
Catfish can't resist sardines. I make dough balls with sardines and honey. The stinkier the better.
I’m gonna have to try
I will try it tomorrow thanks
Try my specialty!!! Chicken Liver, Pancake Syrup, and Vanilla Extract.
Chicken chicken chicken, is that what catfish are pickin?
Instead of using water I use vodka but I’ve been using that a while already
Have you tried this recipe without the chicken liver juice? My stater bros doesn’t have chicken livers :/
Update: fished for 5 hours on stock day and didn’t get a single bite 😭
What flavor koolaid?
amazing
hey brother just made this but with chicken feet, will be testing it out tonight or tomorrow night sometime!
Catfish are color blind but the recipe is still good
I knew this video was old when I saw that price!😂😂
Bro yes dude hahahaha. Imma have to make a updated version with a part with me catching a fish with it
What happens if you use a Blender for all the chicken livery the Recipe
I've tried that, didn't have much luck. You can check out "muddy river catfishing" channel. His bait is called chicken liver chum bait. He uses sardine oil and chicken liver, blends it up, and then uses chicharones. I've only tried it once but it didn't work. At Walmart you can buy beef liver for cheap and it has alot of blood.
And fry up the livers!😋
Thanks
Hmmm idk that be in a pot or pan with some rice or mashed potatoes lol
So guy?? Here s question about th freshness of that bait you showed us how to prepare. Um, do u think stinky shouldn't be a little rotting too??
Bro to be honest I like rotting chicken flesh more. Stinky is always good. I once used year old chicken breast’s to make this bait. Either or fresh or STANKY
My dad years ago, would use a very RANK Cheese product, & set wooden fish traps in th Mississippi River, down in Louisiana. That stuff only was known as ,"Ordered Cheese". It was severely Rank, even past through th thick Rubber gloves, he used to shovel it out. But it always brought in tons of Catfish.
whoo weee! 🐱🐟🎣🎣
