    Got to say, probably one of the best videos I've ever seen on GT7. Clear, to the point, factual and no fluff either side of the data to fill the video out. Been doing a few races on Brands Hatch. Really really fun. Lots of errors in there that keeps the race interesting. Tyres make a huuge difference (I never changed mine but no explains why the guy I was out pacing, was catching me up at the end)
    The track plays a little damp? I mean theres no rain but it does feel a little slippy at times? Is that possible on GT7 without actual rain? The track def feels more slippy than say a hot blue sky day.

      @Harmonic14  2 года назад +1

      There might be - it seems like the uphill left out of the 2nd sector has a small wet patch, but the rain indicator on the HUD doesn't seem to show anything.

      @@Harmonic14 Yeh, the left turn has a wet spot on the inside. Might try and break into it and see what happens.

      Its because of the many uphill and downhill sections. The cars starts to feel light in uphill corners

    This is really helpful, thanks! I'm finding the rcz gets livelier as fuel and weight go down, so pitting around lap 8 and having fresh tires when the car is lightest at the end of the race works pretty well

    Enjoyed it, thank you for taking the time to do it. Without wishing to be 'that guy' but purely for the question to be put and as it is something that I apply when conserving fuel. Would you in future consider covering short shifting and coasting prior to braking into corners, as it would be nice to see someone with obvious pace employ it?
    Like deployed 👍

    This is great advice. Shifting at 3 quarter revs really helps save more fuel too. I am sure the cars vary quite a bit in terms of fuel usage though. I did a daily race C in the Mazda RX Vision and had an epic battle for the lead with another guy who I think was in the Aston Martin. We were trading positions until about half distance, until I realised to win I had no option but to massively fuel save and not pit. I had been running fuel mix 1 for the first two laps before the penny dropped and I turned it down. The slip stream effect is surprising and like you said allows you to save fuel without losing really any pace at all, I was mostly running mix 4 - 5 whilst in the slip stream and hardly losing any pace relative to him. Halfway through the race and the other guy is slightly ahead and peels into the pits, at which point I'm sure I've won the race as long as I can keep the car on the road. I won by over 10 seconds and finished with about 1.5 litres of fuel and very clapped out tyres.

    interesting information. i have been using more power to gain advantage in time and wind up lapping the back markets even with 2 pit stops. I would rather drive on a fresh set of tires than risk going off track.

    So basically if you try to race this track (or probably some other Daily Races) like you were playing NFS without needing to pit you basically cost yourself a lot of time. THAT's good to know because ,as it should be obvious with me, when I play NFS I don't think I ever had to worry about that. Having to factor that in for races and such in this game is gonna be key and probably one of the better ways to do that (for me) would be to take cars and drive them around tracks to figure out how well they do with tire wear and fuel consumption no?
    Anyways very good video dude and I'm gonna go check another out later for sure

    I have to pit every 3 laps in 10 lap races ? What I do

    • @1granturismo
      @1granturismo 2 года назад

      Pit stops are a bit unfair. In my Vulcan, I have to pit every lap at circuit de la sarthe (not sure if vehicle choice matters or if it's the same for all cars for that race). But meanwhile, everyone else pits every 2 maybe 3. And same for other races, some cars don't pit 2 or 3 laps after your first stop. And add on top of that it takes 30 seconds just to get to the crew. And not like they're 30 lap endurance laps when you have some chance to make up your lost progress.

      @@Harmonic14 my laps times after the 6th lap due to reduced power because of fuel mapping caused me to have just under a second longer per lap until the last two laps that were 1 second more per lap. Not having to pit, is allowing me to win podium in this race.

    • @1granturismo
      @1granturismo 2 года назад

      I've honestly not paid much attention to that really. In Sport, and in GT7, I try to play with it, but the estimated remaining laps left doesn't change even by a fraction. So I can not tell really, how effective doing that actually is.
