I came across a lore video today explaining how Gransax (the Dragon in Leyndell) isn't actually dead, but somehow frozen in time. @@dustinirvin9205 hey, I'm just repeating the exact words used in the "Greyoll's Roar" incantation lol for all we know, Greyoll could have been an ancient dragon that magically transformed or evolved. Though I just had the thought that perhaps ancient dragons aren't birthed but modern ones are. This is definitely a possibility given that natural birth was a thing until Death was confined in the creation of the Golden Order.
@@eddieford9373 ask "Greyoll's Roar" that since that's what the description says word for word lol I just thought of this but maybe the ancient dragons aren't birthed but modern dragons are? It's the only explanation I can think of.
@DanielGarcia-rx3kt I think it's just a title because she's old and really big. Maybe she was the first wyvern type? I don't actually know if ancient dragons were birthed. I don't know if that information is given in the game.
The Banished Knight is ridiculous. I have tried to do the cliff skip in to Sol once. He teleported up and knocked my ass off for a gravity death. Farming him for the unique armor set is easy though with the teleport to his own death trick.
Greyoll was already known, I think it was Zullie that showed off her animations, but that one problem was that greyoll constantly made the game crash. Additionally, though there's no absolute either way, I think most people call greyoll her instead of him, on account of various descriptions stating that greyoll made a nest after surviving the scarlet rot
The incantation "Greyoll's Roar" word for word describes her as "mother of all dragons." I speculate this means that the dragons before her (ancient dragons) aren't born but were made, formed, created, etc. and the current dragons were born from her.
The Red Wolf of Radagon in the underground makes a bit more sense now due to the connection with the wolves in Farum Azula and that statue having to be Marika/Radagon. Probably a Messmer connection as well.
I have learned to PARRY that Banished Knight. When he is charging at you, his first sword swing is well-telegraphed, making it an easy and consistent target for parrying.
Aggro the knight from the edge of the wall and then turn your character 180 degrees. The knight teleports behind you but since you're on the edge of the wall with your back to the ledge, he falls to his death.
Zio, maybe you can look into this. I seem to remember early Elden, there was talk of reduced Magic or Holy damage in Volcano Manor. I cant find any sources anymore.
I saw that skumnut stream live and I freaked the F*** out. My guess is greyoll is just an enlarged dragon and kept in place by the environment but the speed increase dislodged her
I hope Zullie the Witch covers the Greyoll thing. I'm curious to know more about whats going on there on a technical level. I assume Greyoll's animation speed is set to a fraction of the normal speed.
There are 3 wolves of Radagon we can find so it would make sense that they are the ones on the statue. There’s the main boss fight wolf, the wolf behind carion manor, and the last one is underground. Correct me if I’m wrong but they’re all the ones I can recall
There is 3 types of Red Wolf, but 6 in-game total. There's 1 "Red Wolf of Radagon" in Raya Lucaria. There's 4 "Lesser Red Wolves of Radagon" found in Liurnia of The Lakes, Consecrated Snowfield, East of Caria Manor in a small graveyard and the Ancestral Woods in Nokron There's 1 "Red Wolf of the Champion" in Gelmir Hero's Grave.
The cut island … is interesting. It seems like there is a dungeon entrance but also the trees seem to be two different colors split vertically! Miquella and Malenia? Radagon, Marika?
6:57 the girl being Marika would make more sense than you spoke of, because not only the wolves but also the fact that Maliketh is Marika’s beast that she got when she became an empyrian
the second one, the hammer turns into a dual shield, i think the one Nox knight in the underground also does that, in the area before the rot lake, he's on the right side of the first and only grace
btw that banished knight in castle sol can deffo be surprise attacked. pop on sacred blade, sprint close enough so you're just within projectile range, fire it, and watch him stagger as you hit him in the back. i did it at least 20 times while farming his armor. you can even sprint in for a followup jump attack once the projectile hits him and basically destroy him before he gets a chance to fight back.
Some enemies have a aggro trigger event, probably the reason why this banished knight aggroes, its very common on ambushes. The greyoll moveset was found a while ago, but it was not possible to be used in the game, funny that increasing the enemies speed broke that restriction. Skum can say prodly that he was the first player to die to "vanilla" greyoll lol I've actually saw that nox monk shield on my first playtrough, I get to this boss very early and it was a tough fight.
As for the cemetery shades, when they elongate the blades, their arms also gain an extra wrist if you slow it down enough, they have arachnid like arms (multiple elbows)
best way to get that knight at Sol, lightning. Specifically Bolt of Grandsax with lighting scorpion charm, Godfrey Icon, Alexander talisman, and one extra of ur choice. Add in the lightning buff to your physik as well as the boos to charged attacks. Pop Golden Vow + Howl of Shabri, you will 2 shot him everytime and the first time it hit him knocks him down :))
That cut Farum Azuela island looks like the kind of spot that would be accessible from somewhere else in the map, as a place to see an as of yet unreached area
That first glitch with mimic item and black knife set can be replicated using the Crepus’s Vial talisman. It’s kinda fun walking up to other players and doing it.
One thing I did notice about the statue with the wolves, is that there are exactly 3 red wolves in Eden Ring. One is the boss in Raya Lucaria. Another is next to the Cemetery behind Caria Manor, and the final one is on the moonlight alter
I think the flower island possibly could’ve been where we originally were supposed to fight Maliketh. If you think about it,it would be fitting, for the one guarding the rune of death to be in an area full of life(plants)
YES! YES! I'm not the only one that has saw that! That guard on Messmer's Spear looks almost JUST like the symbol on the Confessor's Hood and Cloaks, ALSO, on the Crespus Crossbows! I have a theory that Messmer was the first Leader of the Confessor's, who could have been tasked by his mother, Marika, to stamp out ANY remaining opposition to the Golden Order/Erdtree, and to make sure those OUTSIDE THE LAND'S BETWEEN, who worshipped the Two Fingers, stayed true to their teachings! And when someone DIDN'T, or, became a threat to the Golden Order/Greater Will, Messmer would send out The Confessor's to "deal with" the problem! OH, Messmer could have created The Confessor's himself, after the establishment of the Golden Order, forgot to put that one in earlier, lol! I was just SO excited that I'm not the only one that has saw that symbol on Messmer's Spear, the way it looks in promo art especially, is almost EXACT to the one on the hoods/cloaks of the Confessor's, also their Crespus Crossbows! HOLY S%#@! This could be HUGE! MAJOR tin-foil hat theory coming, but, could have Marika sent Messmer to the Land of Shadows on purpose, to crush as much as possible, any opposition to the Golden Order/Erdtree, outside the Land's Between, instead of the theory that he was banished there for blasphemy or some other reason, just a rambly thought at the end. I have another theory that Messmer was/or still IS a Empyrean, since he's on the same level as Miquella, Malenia, Ranni, and the Gloam-Eyed Queen! It's all but confirmed at this point, Messmer was on the Council at Leyndell, since we all know he has his own throne like the other's, and there's a big gap in them when Morgott was naming them, Morgott KNEW him, and is now either made or has forgotten him/or thinks he's dead, since it's been so long! Those Council Meetings with Messmer, just HAD to be a real hoot, lol! I know this next part is REALLY far-fetched, but, since Miquella reportibly shed himself of his Grace, his lineage, and everything Golden, and Messmer "supposibly" wants to kill ALL Tarnished, could he fight WITH us against Miquella, like, that could be another reason we could ally with him! In my head, this is how this dialogue could go, Messmer:' Miquella is NOT what you think he is!' 'But, I can see you already have your suspicions!' I just think it would be SO badass, if us, The Tarnished, and Messmer, can fight TOGETHER, against Miquella (which I think will be the case)! I just KNOW, Miquella is going to pull something, and we'll have a choice to make, depending on our actions with/against Messmer! Sorry this went all over the place, but, it's just how my brain works, lol!
Being serious this time, that confessor symbol looks super familiar, like I’ve seen it elsewhere in game. I can’t jump on right now to check, but i want to say it is similar to the knot tied to Okina’s Armor, specifically the chestpiece. It’s on his back; can’t recall if it’s on the regular samurai set as well. It’s also from somewhere else, I can picture the symbol but can’t place it (maybe a wall relief or something?) but I’m pretty sure it’s linked to an older area, like the ancient dynastic ruins. Which, if this symbol is indeed originally from one of the older civilizations of the lands between, would establish a link and potentially even a timeline connecting Messmer, or at least his spear, to the wider lands between
Connecting messemer to the confessor’s in the video in some way makes me think that Marika left him there in order to maintain control of the land of shadow and it’s people who were there before Marika showed up and gained godhood. Like how confessor’s hunt people down who’ve strayed the path of the golden order Messemer has probably been ruling the land of shadow cruelly and has used his faction to stop you or even Miquella. Miquella could also be on no one’s side and just want the power of a god as well. It kinda seems unlike fromsoft to create a “most fearsome demigod” in Miquella and have them be a good person.
Just Imagine an Elden Ring TV series where the last episode shows the tarnished laying on the ground and melina on the horse like for the Intro of the game
Check out velkas rapier from dark souls 1. I’m pretty sure that’s where they got the inspiration for mesmers weapon. Also the npc that wields the rapier is a type of “confessor” I’m starting to see a connection between the painted world and the “shadow realm” in the dlc. For sure there are more connections to be found.
10:12 So what your saying is, there may be no graces to rest at in the Land of Shadow. If you die, you die 0: what if there’s a cutscene that shows you the aftermath of “Destined Death” since we pretty much reactivated it
You can cheese the knight of castle sol if needed. If you trigger him from the balcony (like in the vid) immediately turn around. He will spawn behind you as always but in air and fall down to the floor.
For the greyold dragon. If i had to guess From put in a laying down animation to keep the standard dragon moveset from activating. Since all enemies are 500x faster that animation was able to finish.
1 great wolf of Radagon, plus 4 lesser wolves of Radagon, in the statue there's 3. A lot can happen here. The spirit wolves ashes may indeed be related to the wolves of Radagon, those 3 could be the one's who were expelled from the pack, as per item description. The rest of the pack could be the one's we face through out the game. A lot is unknown at this point, I would not be surprised if it's a mix of circumstances, especially if we have in mind that Melina has "pink" hair and "Radagon is Marika". I think Melina was the "original one". The original soul, while Marika and Radagon as "partitions" in soul and nature/attributes, of her once whole soul. It's why Melina calls Marika "her mother", they are distinct entities.
Cemetery shades carry double bladed, curved swords. These are not"claws" of the mantis that are possessing them. A cemetery shade is a possessed grave keeper. A grave keeper is a retired duelist warden, so naturally, they'd be armed. Something I can't find in the lore is if the possession takes place on a spiritual level, if the mantis is instead a parasite that grabbed a live host, or if the mantis is actually a necromancer that has reanimated a duelist warden and corrupted the physical form.
Dunno if it's been changed since i last played a caster, but those spells are not silent. They just can't be dodged by the PVE enemies. normal spells are actually more stealthy.
ER having already 2yrs released and still finding new stuff is not unexpected considering the size of the game. Heck even the DS series and bloodborne had stuff being find in them years after release

A thing to add to 11:55 is that the tagline for Shadow of the Erdtree is *’Fall from Grace’* (As per Bandai website)
0:03 Frieren Easter Egg unlocked 🤩
4:17 too
These videos keep me alive until the dlc
You can actually play fetch with the disk of light encant and the red wolf down past the mimic tear in Nokstella
The Red Wolf of Radagon in the underground makes a bit more sense now due to the connection with the wolves in Farum Azula and that statue having to be Marika/Radagon. Probably a Messmer connection as well.
0:32 The words "Guarantee"and "probably" don't go in the same sentence 😂😂😂
The day one of Zio's videos starts by anything other than "alright what's goin' on guys?" There will be riots.
I hope we get spiked bucklers as fist weapons in the dlc
The island in Farum Azula was probably going to be the area you would fight Maleania, it has the same ecstatic as the bottom of the Halig Tree.
Ziocord deserves its own video
No it doesn't.
@@ThinkerOfThoughts okay cam
Zio, maybe you can look into this. I seem to remember early Elden, there was talk of reduced Magic or Holy damage in Volcano Manor. I cant find any sources anymore.
I saw that skumnut stream live and I freaked the F*** out. My guess is greyoll is just an enlarged dragon and kept in place by the environment but the speed increase dislodged her
Woah - the art for Farum Garden Island has Finger Reader Crone in it too! That would be new...
I hope Zullie the Witch covers the Greyoll thing. I'm curious to know more about whats going on there on a technical level. I assume Greyoll's animation speed is set to a fraction of the normal speed.
Did a great job with this one bud. There's some good new info in this one
Confessor gloves also have matching visual elements to the drake knight armor, and by extension Messmer’s design too
There are 3 wolves of Radagon we can find so it would make sense that they are the ones on the statue.
There's 4 "Lesser Red Wolves of Radagon" found in Liurnia of The Lakes, Consecrated Snowfield, East of Caria Manor in a small graveyard and the Ancestral Woods in Nokron
There's 1 "Red Wolf of the Champion" in Gelmir Hero's Grave.
@@BudravenOG ah yeah you’re right there’s way more than I thought
@@BudravenOGDon't you mean Raya Lucaria instead of Caria Manor?
@@teknogothyk yup, fucked that up. Edited for accuracy.
The trees on the garden island of Farum Azula are half white, which reminds me of how Miquella turns the shadow tree white/gray in the trailer
The cut island … is interesting. It seems like there is a dungeon entrance but also the trees seem to be two different colors split vertically! Miquella and Malenia? Radagon, Marika?
God bless you Ziostorm
Something new I found literally this past week was the golden great arrows have a buff for friendlies and yourself if you shoot it at your feet
Your videos are every single time really intresting, i love them thank you bro
nice Frieren cosplay there, my character looks exactly the same lol
I think I cast that spell that makes you half invisible before engaging the Knight and it work great.
One thing I haven't seen people talk about is miquellas needle, it seems to be upgradable a 3rd time
Oleg, the banished knight kicks ass
shout out to skumnut. best challenge elden ring player ever. the climb never disappoints.
Skumnut mentioned!!!
btw that banished knight in castle sol can deffo be surprise attacked.
pop on sacred blade, sprint close enough so you're just within projectile range, fire it, and watch him stagger as you hit him in the back.
i did it at least 20 times while farming his armor.
you can even sprint in for a followup jump attack once the projectile hits him and basically destroy him before he gets a chance to fight back.
2:25 lol oh looks like radahn. 2:27 oh...no, that looks like "sum" else..
Some enemies have a aggro trigger event, probably the reason why this banished knight aggroes, its very common on ambushes.
The greyoll moveset was found a while ago, but it was not possible to be used in the game, funny that increasing the enemies speed broke that restriction. Skum can say prodly that he was the first player to die to "vanilla" greyoll lol
I've actually saw that nox monk shield on my first playtrough, I get to this boss very early and it was a tough fight.
Greyoll, Mother of Dragons actually being a male was probably the most shocking secret I learned today
One thing I did notice about the statue with the wolves, is that there are exactly 3 red wolves in Eden Ring. One is the boss in Raya Lucaria. Another is next to the Cemetery behind Caria Manor, and the final one is on the moonlight alter
I replayed that "Alright what's going on guys?" 4 times.
The cut Farum Azula island sorta looks like a piece of Caelid
I think the flower island possibly could’ve been where we originally were supposed to fight Maliketh. If you think about it,it would be fitting, for the one guarding the rune of death to be in an area full of life(plants)
The confessors and messmer absolutely have a connection in doing the golden orders dirty work
the dragon pretending to be disabled was funny af, i get it tho its easier to park
This is the first one of these videos in a long time in which the facts within were actually really cool to learn. Awesome.
YES!
Thanks again for dope new stuff
Last point with confessors is crazzzzy I love how we keep finding semi-obvious connections so much later on! Hidden in plain view….
greyoll is a mother bruv how else she gave birth to the dragons 😭
Haha that banished knight killed me so many times 😂
Being serious this time, that confessor symbol looks super familiar, like I’ve seen it elsewhere in game. I can’t jump on right now to check, but i want to say it is similar to the knot tied to Okina’s Armor, specifically the chestpiece. It’s on his back; can’t recall if it’s on the regular samurai set as well. It’s also from somewhere else, I can picture the symbol but can’t place it (maybe a wall relief or something?) but I’m pretty sure it’s linked to an older area, like the ancient dynastic ruins. Which, if this symbol is indeed originally from one of the older civilizations of the lands between, would establish a link and potentially even a timeline connecting Messmer, or at least his spear, to the wider lands between
Amazed at how oblivious ppl are to the lore when it's been out for years. Good video mate.
10:12
So what your saying is, there may be no graces to rest at in the Land of Shadow.
Red Wolf of the Champion as well
Cemetery shades carry double bladed, curved swords.
Whats the background song during the intro?
God damn, still finding new stuff after all this time. Im glad there are other people out there that love this game as much as I do
Dunno if it's been changed since i last played a caster, but those spells are not silent. They just can't be dodged by the PVE enemies. normal spells are actually more stealthy.
No matter how much I play Elden Ring, it still holds so much mystery. That’s why I absolutely love the game!
That symbol on the spear reminds me of Velka's Rapier from DS1
ER having already 2yrs released and still finding new stuff is not unexpected considering the size of the game. Heck even the DS series and bloodborne had stuff being find in them years after release
I like your last secret because I chose Confessor as my class for my DLC character.
Frieren's literally doing every side quest out there 💯
Ppl still wonder why no other souls like game managed to reach from softwares crafts. The level of detail and thought that goes into their games is simply unmatched.
