You can use the mimic grace close to the Placidusax's TP point, take a sreenshot, send to Fromsoftware asking "why you didn't do that?", that is the best way to use the mimic grace
Haha. Nice. Honestly I don't find that runback too terrible. This was my first fromsoft game and after playing demons souls and coming back to this it's not a bad run at all. Lol
Convergence Developer here. I checked the game files for the Crucible Knight + Fallen Hawk Soldier interaction. This is deliberate. There is a special effect placed on those Fallen Hawk Soldiers, and also half of the Fallen Hawk Soldiers that are a bit further back. This effect causes them to get an increased 99% absorption from in this case the Crucible Knight. I have also compared it to similar instances like the battle between Misbegotten and Soldiers at Castle Morne, and the Pumpkin Head in the Courtyard with the Misbegotten, I could not find this logic applied there. It can of course still be said that both were handled by different teams, but the damage reduction was definitely there on purpose. They simply might not have thought about the application of the Bewitching Branch.
Out of curiosity, does this same 99% absorption value get applied to the Crucible Knight that fights beastmen near the Boltdrake Talisman +2 in Farum Azula? I'm wondering if the Crucible Knight was actually supposed to have the 99% absorption value against the Fallen Hawks instead, as it would line up with the Farum Azula enemy vs. enemy scenario.
@@nightscout9979 I just cheked, and it's indeed the same effect that the Cruicible Knight has. But I can tell you with certainty that the application of this effect on the Fallen Hawk Soldier is no accident.
@@LordExelot What indicates that the Fallen Hawks having this trait wasn't an accident? Also, do any other enemies in Nokron have such damage modifiers?
After rereading the Grace Mimic, I think the best way to use it is if you’re in a new area and don’t know where to go, the Grace Mimic will work as a stick you throw into the air and wherever it points to is where you go.
@TheRealJohnHooper yeah it is supposed to be random the op isn’t suggesting it’s not, they’re just saying if you want to choose a random area to go to while exploring, it works that way
I actually used them in the middle of Caelid and Liurnia. I threw a couple down, then used my map to draw a straight line. It allowed me to find a couple hidden graces and if you were near an edge or mountain, you knew there was a secret nearby if it pointed straight into the sea. Definitely helped with my first playthrough.
I wonder if they point to something, just not the way you’re “supposed” to go… I’ve never used one though since I always check every nook and cranny anyways haha
I dont know if anyone noticed that before.. (Not sure which place it was ), I saw a pack of wolf puppies running around like they were playing but when I looked closer they were actually chasing that invisible teardrop scarab. It was cute af (I apologize if this might be a widely-known thing, I'm a fresh Elden ring player😅)
There's a rat that runs toward the hole that drops onto the path leading to Mohg. It hangs out next to the hole and will aggro if you go near it after it follows its path. It doesn't go anywhere near the other holes and there's no other rats in that section, so you just really need to find the rat rather than following it like the spectral squirrel.
I noticed the rat today!! When you open the way straight from the Grace and drop in the sewers from the pipe in the room with an omen and an imp, there’s a rat down there that leads you to the correct drop and even behind the big rat.
A lot of the cut content makes me question wtf is Fromsoft's reasons for cutting out so much actual good stuff from the game? They cut out Kale's quest, they completely changed Millicent's quest, they cut out the aurora borealis? Y the hell did they even cut out the aurora borealis?

The scar on the left eye has a pretty obvious meaning behind it. Grace mimic has a use in er. If in invasion you are stuck behind an illusiory wall, you can dispel it by placing 2 grace mimic and doing a few particle effect (throwing knives for exemple) . Useful if u ever invade the mine that leads to rykard rune tower.
Given that some npc quests involve the use of items in fromsoft games, I don't think its impossible that a grace mimic could eventually be used in an npc quest, especially if the npc in question doesn't know what grace looks like and couldn't tell the difference. Not that I think that its likely to happen, but lore-wise it could.
Woah...I never knew about that Zamor Ruins Squirrel...thats awesome. I'm doing my pre-DLC new build right now and I'm just about to get to Morgott & enter the Mountaintop, so I'm definitely checking this out soon
Noticed this the other day. A statue in the lower levels of Auriza Hero Grave has an identical spear to Messmer’s, wrapped in vines which I mistook for snakes. The appearance isnt a striking resemblance but there are some resemblances
10:45 There are other enemies of that type that explode in Caelid but it's fire for example. There are poison variants too. I don't think this is connected to Miquella in this case.

Grace Mimics are gonna be great for the first playthrough of the DLC if you get lost or overwhelmed, since it points the player in the right direction. Very good first playthrough item.
I cant wait for the zoom out from whoever's psyche we're exploring in-game to the real world version of Michella waking up, getting in his car, and driving to his 9-5. All of it was just a dream taking place within his Inner-World as his own path toward individuation. Crazy
Well the blood servants and miquella's soldiers aren't the only ones to explode in that fashion. There exist fire equivalents to the blood servants in Caelid and they rush you to explode too
Did you know Lanseax can be cheesed. If you attack her in the spot where she runs away it will trigger her boss fight to have a 10th less health. If you go fight her at her boss fight and run away so her health bar dissapears when it reappears she has lost an additional 10th of her health.
My guess is that they hardcoded a resistance on those enemies against the Crucible Knights to prevent the player from cheesing them by using the Crucible Knights. Like aggro the knights and then taking it to there so that it can use area attacks and wipe the enemies. But in the process they forgot about the bewitching branch or maybe it was introduced further in development when these enemies were already in place and never went back to check.
Every true Soulsborne Vet understands the value of the Rainbow runes. As for the the Rowa fruit I actually have always used the Rowa fruits to heal Torrent. Even utilizing the upgraded version of them once in late game areas. Honestly very useful whenever engaging in horseback combat especially when fighting on horseback against bosses such as those Meteor Bull (I forget their real name)
The squirrel was really a surprise. I do have the impression something similar happens in Tetsu's Rise, where some specific spectral mobs there stand still and stare at the turtles until you bother them. Edit: I just checked. The specific dudes I mentioned will spawn as soon as you touch the Imp Statue, they will be standing still on rocks and each staring at one of the turtles. If you touch Imp Statue while looking to your right (south) you'll be able to see one of them.
Bruh you got to start giving GRRM more credit. Miyazaki had stated over and over GRRM came up with the world and factions. And Miyazaki just transformed them into monsters. Start looking at GRRM work.
iirc there's a deer in the dragonbarrow cave where the bull-goat's talisman is that will lead you to the somewhat hidden entrance to the other part of the cave as well.
The thing with the hollows looks like it could be just an effect of the crucible attacks being blocked by their 100% DR shield. The Greattshield Soldier ashes are ridiculous against many enemies, one of my favourites for my Astrologer build.
7:00 It is for this reason that I believe “the Prisoner” class was always the intended main protagonist of the setting; since the tarnished were all to be imprisoned hundreds of years ago, it would make sense the original plan of the game was to simply have them imprisoned rather than sealed away, and everyone start in prison clothes, where the left eye is covered with a false eye, and the other exposed. My headcannon is that within the enclosed side of the face your character carries the scar seals/sore seals as their actual eye as some form of mark of punishment, albeit also amplifying your powers depending on which one you have. It also allows a lot of role play in how you approach their motivations: What crime did they commit, and why did they do it? My character, for example, was the catalyst to stealing the rune of death from Malkeith; then he was scapegoated by the demigods while their plans moved forward, thus the prisoner’s motive now is to literally kill them and return death to the Elden Ring.
they weren't imprisoned or sealed away, they just got told to leave for a while _My Lord, and thy warriors. I divest each of thee of thy grace. With thine eyes dimmed, ye will be driven from the Lands Between. Ye will wage war in a land afar, where ye will live, and die._
I've noticed that when enemies are fighting each other, they always deal significantly lower damage than they should (see Misbegotten and Godrick Soldiers in Castle Morne). Normally the Bewitching Branch causes them to take the normal damage. So I suspect that for some reason, that scaling modifier isn't turned off for the soldiers in the aqueduct. Why that is, you'd need to look directly in the code like you said
Kinda interesting to think about that maybe Gowry was supposed to be Gorey but a mistranslation happened as the Japanese Kanji between Gowry and Gorey is the same so they just left it as Gowry.
If you want to "cheese" the Mimic Tear, you could also unequip everything before you encounter it. That's how it will mimic and stay that way through the fight. Just be quick to re-equip everything.
9:50 Grace Mimics are a metaphor for turning our backs on God’s way and going our own way. They don’t have land under them to illustrate that they have no foundation.
We also know that torrent has some type of unalloyed gold horse shoes (likely given by prior master Miquella). We know this because he takes no damage from walking over poison or rot. However, he will otherwise take damage from poison and rot applied to his body. He also takes damage when walking over fire/lava so it’s only poison/rot that his hooves are resistant to.
You guys know already that Miyazaki really likes Berserk. The scar eye thing, the prosthetic limbs etc comes from there. Miquella and those Fallen Hawk Knights having that special interaction probably is some sort of reference to Griffith/Band of Falcons. My boy Mike compels such strong affection We are about to see more in the Shadow of the Erdtree 😊
11:12 No that’s just simply a thing this enemy does. In Caelid and especially in one of the mini dungeons, this enemy explodes into flames just like the blood versions. It’s very unlikely Miquella’s soldiers.
I've always wondered due to its description and we get one right away if the mimic could possibly lead to the frenzied flame the closer you get to it I've never experimented it but the way it specifically states going against grace and that "unrefined grace will lead too truer encounters" screams the three fingers to me
The mimic tear trick works on all transforming mimic tears not just the boss. I use Bolt of Lanssax to snipe them from afar and they never turn into those mimic warriors. Or that mimic tear giant in front of the fingerslayer knife location
Tarnished: Aurora borealis? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the Lands Between, localised entirely in the Mountaintops? Marika: Yes. Tarnished: Can I see it? Radagon: *Smashes with Marika’s hammer*
My theory about the left eye symbolism is that it allows them to be in the shadow realm (asleep) and the lands between at the same time. Since most of the characters with that mark are spectral it makes sense that they could maybe warp back and forth.
Grace mimics are good if you're invading level 10 or below where you've got brand new players who have no idea where The Graces are. You could take a mimic Veil and sit right near a Grace and then Ambush them when they try to activate it. I saw a guy doing this like 2 years ago when everybody was new at the game.
I’ve been absolutely locked in at work and it really does help kill time. If you have the ability to work through these days, you’ll be playing the DLC in no time.
The grace mimic probably changes your encounter rate for a type of enemy somewhere, most likely a special version that has a rare item drop- read the last line of the description.
I use the Grace mimic to mess with ppl. Ppl won’t walk up to the grace and try to sit at it for sure but.. nearly everyone will come and investigate when they see what looks like a grace somewhere they don’t remember there being one. So the best way I found to use grace mimic for luring ppl is to put it somewhere visible from the main path that will lure them away from their plan and into a choke point, and it has to be far enough past the choke point where by the time they realize what’s going on it’s too late, there trapped. Things that will help are if u put it somewhere dark, that will help it stick out visually. You also have to understand different ppl want different things so you have to keep in mind the context of your situation. For example, using this trick when your being invaded has limited use because they can see where you are at all times so, the only time you can mess with an invader is if your co op friends are in on it you can make it seem like your sitting at a grace with the emote and mimic, but at that point you might as well do it at a real grace to realy make it look convincing. The best way to use this trick would be in an invasion. If done right, with a little slight of hand you can put a grace mimic in some tricky spots that make ppl exploring their world get curious and HAVE to go investigate. The only issue with this whole strategy, it relies on the whole community not knowing about grace mimics or seeing them very often.
I was thinking that the grace mimic would actually be useful in the new dlc since I wouldn’t know where to go initially. Maybe the direction is only random because it’s sending you to different locations like caves, catacombs, evergaols , and main bosses.
The squirrel got me dude. I started this video up thinking I wouldn’t see anything new, and you get me with the first secret. That’s freaking legit. Seriously, I have over 1000 hours into this game and to still be surprised by things I didn’t know where in the game is incredible.
I know that pirates used eyepatches so that when they were actively pillaging a ship and went below deck, they could lift their eyepatch and their eye would already be adjusted to the darkness. This gave them an advantage in battle. The characters with one eye closed could mean that they have one foot in this world, and the other in another, like the spirit world. Perhaps we'll see these characters with their right eyes closed and left eyes open in the.. dun dun dun Shadow Realm

Grace Mimics are gonna be great for the first playthrough of the DLC if you get lost or overwhelmed, since it points the player in the right direction. Very good first playthrough item.
It’s entirely random, so I’m not sure how it can point you in the right direction
@Ziostorm cause every direction in elden ring is the right direction
Is it proven to be random? They don’t point to real nearby graces? (The grace they point to could be different if there’s multiple mimics)
I cant wait for the zoom out from whoever's psyche we're exploring in-game to the real world version of Michella waking up, getting in his car, and driving to his 9-5.
All of it was just a dream taking place within his Inner-World as his own path toward individuation.
Crazy
I'm surprised no one actually knew this. Of course the left eye symbolism pertains to Left Eye Lisa Lopes of TLC fame. Add it to the wiki.
Aurora Borealis? At this time of year?
At this part of the Lands Between? Localized entirely within Sekiro Dubi's PC?!
....Can I see it?
yo thanks for featuring that little discovery w/ the crucible knights!
Well the blood servants and miquella's soldiers aren't the only ones to explode in that fashion. There exist fire equivalents to the blood servants in Caelid and they rush you to explode too
And the Poisoned peasants in Volcano Manor
Did you know Lanseax can be cheesed. If you attack her in the spot where she runs away it will trigger her boss fight to have a 10th less health. If you go fight her at her boss fight and run away so her health bar dissapears when it reappears she has lost an additional 10th of her health.
My guess is that they hardcoded a resistance on those enemies against the Crucible Knights to prevent the player from cheesing them by using the Crucible Knights. Like aggro the knights and then taking it to there so that it can use area attacks and wipe the enemies.
But in the process they forgot about the bewitching branch or maybe it was introduced further in development when these enemies were already in place and never went back to check.
or they were possibly overlooked when From debuffed EVE damage
Every true Soulsborne Vet understands the value of the Rainbow runes. As for the the Rowa fruit I actually have always used the Rowa fruits to heal Torrent. Even utilizing the upgraded version of them once in late game areas. Honestly very useful whenever engaging in horseback combat especially when fighting on horseback against bosses such as those Meteor Bull (I forget their real name)
It’s Fallingstar Beast, but I like meteor Bull better 😂
There are corpses in Caelid too who blow themselves up.
gaol cave and one of the catacombs too
The squirrel was really a surprise.
You can use the grace mimic as a tool that helps you decide where to go next to add some randomness to your playthrough
thats exactly how i used it
iirc there's a deer in the dragonbarrow cave where the bull-goat's talisman is that will lead you to the somewhat hidden entrance to the other part of the cave as well.
The thing with the hollows looks like it could be just an effect of the crucible attacks being blocked by their 100% DR shield. The Greattshield Soldier ashes are ridiculous against many enemies, one of my favourites for my Astrologer build.

It is for this reason that I believe “the Prisoner” class was always the intended main protagonist of the setting; since the tarnished were all to be imprisoned hundreds of years ago, it would make sense the original plan of the game was to simply have them imprisoned rather than sealed away, and everyone start in prison clothes, where the left eye is covered with a false eye, and the other exposed. My character, for example, was the catalyst to stealing the rune of death from Malkeith; then he was scapegoated by the demigods while their plans moved forward, thus the prisoner’s motive now is to literally kill them and return death to the Elden Ring.
they weren't imprisoned or sealed away, they just got told to leave for a while
_My Lord, and thy warriors.
Ayo those are actually really cool secrets that i never seen on any other videos you've earned a sub mate.
The fire zombies found in Caelid and by Windmill Heights also do the exploding animation. I'm not sure if they have any ties to Miquella.
If you want to "cheese" the Mimic Tear, you could also unequip everything before you encounter it. That's how it will mimic and stay that way through the fight. Just be quick to re-equip everything.
I thought i knew everything before. How can there be more
9:50 Grace Mimics are a metaphor for turning our backs on God’s way and going our own way.
They don’t have land under them to illustrate that they have no foundation.
Bro what is your armor in the thumbnail I’ve been looking for it for forever 😂
Blue silver mail, dropped by the albinauric archers
Thanks brotha
My boy Mike compels such strong affection
We are about to see more in the Shadow of the Erdtree 😊
Ok, the squirrel was something I knew nothing about, crazy all the small details, I love it!
11:12 No that’s just simply a thing this enemy does. In Caelid and especially in one of the mini dungeons, this enemy explodes into flames just like the blood versions. It’s very unlikely Miquella’s soldiers.
Only channel with continued Elden Ring videos spoiler free, absolutely can't wait. Only 10 day left!
I've always wondered due to its description and we get one right away if the mimic could possibly lead to the frenzied flame the closer you get to it I've never experimented it but the way it specifically states going against grace and that "unrefined grace will lead too truer encounters" screams the three fingers to me
You a real one ziostorm
I think its pretty clear that the developers are huge fans of "TLC" especially "Lisa Left Eye Lopez"
11:40 was amazing 😭
Grace mimics are good if you're invading level 10 or below where you've got brand new players who have no idea where The Graces are. You could take a mimic Veil and sit right near a Grace and then Ambush them when they try to activate it. I saw a guy doing this like 2 years ago when everybody was new at the game.
Tried using the Grace mimicks in the DLC to maybe find caves or secrets, before reminding myself "oh yeah, they're random"
I’ve been absolutely locked in at work and it really does help kill time. If you have the ability to work through these days, you’ll be playing the DLC in no time.
The immolated walking corpses from caelid also explode themselves when you get near them.
I used the grace mimic on my first NG+ run as a coin of sorts. If I just wanted to explore I'd drop one and go whatever direction it pointed.
That 1 about the squirrel is just nuts!
11:20 I recently did it with the cannon of Haima spell lol
Glass shard is the most useless item in my mind, it doesn’t even emit light…
I know that pirates used eyepatches so that when they were actively pillaging a ship and went below deck, they could lift their eyepatch and their eye would already be adjusted to the darkness. This gave them an advantage in battle. The characters with one eye closed could mean that they have one foot in this world, and the other in another, like the spirit world. Perhaps we'll see these characters with their right eyes closed and left eyes open in the.. dun dun dun Shadow Realm
Grace mimic has a great usecase in the Seamless Multiplayer mod.
Trolling friends is hilarious
Ive posted a video on tiktok of a clip that i have done like 1.5 years ago of 1shotting the mimic tear before it transforms with the jar cannon. It was very exciting to be able to discover that but it didnt get any attention.
The squirrel one is ridiculous lol, I would’ve never known that wow
Also the exploding enemies in mohgwyn are the same as the ones on fire in caelid and outside the windmill village
The Grace Mimic is perfect to troll your newbie friend who is in his first play through!!! I did this with all my friends who started to play Elden Ring! Works everytime! Also is nice to sit around it with friends!
