@The Beach Guy You are correct but its because They only wanted to play songs written by all 4 of them. Pantera owns the rights to the 80s albums. They could of made a fortune re-releasing Power Metal alone. What people fail to realize is they had almost entirely omitted even CFH songs from the setlist eventually. Phil was still so young he considers Vulgar the first real Pantera record. I always thought it showed a lot of artistic integrity that they chose to pass on the $$$ and keep only the highest quality most recent albums that they wrote together available.
@@donculotta1551 Really? I like it, and it is a good record but i wouldn't put it that high. Death trap and the first 4 songs are killer. Personally im not crazy about the rest.
It is Phil Anselmo. Anselmo got the job in Pantera because of the voice he had at that time. The Anselmo everyone knows came later when they changed to succeed. To relaunch them selves and Metal
You can hear influences in this and it's fine! This is heavy metal in its purest form. Let's ALL headbang here in unison and remember the gods of METAL!
Excelent song ! Old era Pantera for me, the best era, magic songs !! Pure Heavy metal ! Rest in peace masters Darrell thanks for your music ! Forever in my heart thanks beast of the music !!
This song speaks volumes to me. I always seem to find the right songs at the right time. Staying alive through it all. Getcha fucking pull off tgat shit !
For some reason this sounds like synth metal, something you would hear in a 80s action movie but this song really metal, I’m also getting twisted sister and Judas Priest vibes from this song
I know everyone's saying this reminds them of Glam Metal, but tbh I really think that Phil sounds a lot like Bruce Dickinson here! Man, Phil's a metal god!
Always such a tight band. Seriously some of the best to ever do it. Amazes me how they completely changed their sound yet succeeded tremendously at both genres of metal. Amazing amazing musicians
charlie saville the thing is, yeah its 80s metal. But 80s metal was the shit yo. So many people hate on 80s as a decade in music, but honestly it was pretty dope and beats the hell out of 90% of the garbage people are coming out with nowdays...
WTH are you talking about. Glam metal was great in the 80s. I mean Motley Crew, Twisted Sister, Europe... there are huge number of great glam rock bands.
@@xtravehnapaahto69 they was glam tho with Terry glaze on vocals before Phil came along.. I fucking hate glam rock and I don't really consider this power metal album glam metal.. def leppard, motley crue, and Cinderella type bands are glam in my opinion. As Dave from megadeth once said glam metal stands for "Gay LA Metal" because every one of those bands was from LA lmao.
This intro sounds exactly like journey's only the young off of the vision quest sound track. Compare the two you'll see that they are almost exactly alike.
Great guitarists such as myself and many others incorporate all their heroes and or mentors until you find the perfect blend that also sounds like you.. Took me a long time to come up with my own sound!! In a world with some stiff competition it’s difficult to be original!!
It was. These were the albums produced by their father. They were produced in a recording studio that he worked at. They just weren't commercially successful because he had to fit the bill for those early albums. It was until cowboys from hell that they actually got signed to a record label.
Kind of? From what I recall, someone from ATCO saw them live and was blown away. It wasn't too long after Power Metal was released but they'd already decided to change their image. I assume they were still playing stuff off Power Metal when the guy from ATCO saw them, and I'm curious about Phil's live vocals during that intermediate period- was he still going full Halford falsetto, or was he all growly already?
Its amazing how many so-called 'hardcore' pantera fans don't even know about this album.
Really its not. It wasnt released by a major label and the band stopped playing the songs they wrote when Darrell was a teen

I enjoy Power Metal and listen to it regularly. I rarely listen to the other 3. CFH really shows what impact Phil had as a writer.
Paul Stoican I would put this up against Cowboys and Vulgar any day✊🏻✊🏻

Is this Phil Anselmo or Dio? My god. Phil Anselmo has a crazy good metal voice.
That's classic pantera so no
He really fit the style and attitude, with this album and all the others.
He ranges from this to death metal growls. Truly one of the best!
It is Phil Anselmo. Anselmo got the job in Pantera because of the voice he had at that time. The Anselmo everyone knows came later when they changed to succeed. To relaunch them selves and Metal
He really was an elite vocalist. Of many styles
Ozzy,Pantera and Ratt would have been a cool concert back in the day.
PANTERA RULES because of Dime!
80s Heavy Metal! nothing more nothing less!

The Abbot bros. were amazing musicians. 90's Pantera is great, but this is 80's heavy metal at its finest. Phil's vocals are top notch.
he sounds so much like Rob Halford
He really does. Phillip can do classic Priest-esque metal vocals, death metal growls, black metal screeches
This could have been a b side for defenders of the faith and I would believe it
The Abbot Brothers Were Genius’s 🤘🏻
I know everyone's saying this reminds them of Glam Metal, but tbh I really think that Phil sounds a lot like Bruce Dickinson here! Man, Phil's a metal god!
Phil is almost unrecognisable!

Man what an album, everything is top notch
pantera una masa loco aguuuuaaaaaannnnnteeeeeee
Underrated album
There best album. I used to jam to this on z rock radio.
Love this and phils voice was so great before it got all deep and this album I would like to have
This album is as good as unknown
As good as unknown?
Love the solo
One of the best tera albums
This sounds so much like Rock Hard Ride Free and so different at the same time.
Curto muito esse disco power metal .🇧🇷🇧🇷
This album is great. Dunno why everyone said it's glam or whatever that is. Sounds good to me

I love the guitar tone
Best Pantera Álbum!!!
Sounds like Mercyful Fate mixed with Judas Priest and Queensryche
Glamtera

Pantera was heavy metal band always, never glam, but they dressed like glam and sure there was glam influences

This riff has true RATT vibes in the best way 😊❤
Your in the danger zone .you can't be left alone this album is pretty badass why was it never released to the plublic
Captain Tripps some of the lyrics are cheesy though but the guitar work is amazing
Jeff hanneman the guitar god agree
Never released because they considered CFH their debut as its the 1st album PHILIP wrote WROTE WROTE with the band.

Love you Phil❤ you’re the best 😂
That sounds like the Undertaker bell
Alot of pantera fans. Think that cowboys from hell was pantera first album. Lol it was there 4th studio album
Fifth album lol
Maybe its cuz ive completely burnt out their later albums for myself, but id take this over any of those other albums
If Van Halen would've been metal in the 80s they'd sound like Pantera in 1988.
Not in order... Pantera's best album imo
Sounds like rob halford
Esse album é do c.aralho!!
The best pantera album because it sounds like an actually good band which happens to be judas priest
I would sell my only good kidney to hear Rob Halford and Phil duet this in a Somalian New York minute
Stay Free!!!

Dat opening riff be sik, tho.
Definitely hear a George lynch influence in dime on this record
Dont understand why they claim Cowboys from Hell and not this album. Its fucking killer
Doope Soong!!
Reminds me of iron maiden
This made me realize that vinnie Paul had his famous goatee before dime had his tiny red beard.
So did they get the record deal with ATCO off the strength of this album? Honest question.
