You know something funny. My 90 year old grammar is wearing high heels every day and tieks Flats to and can run in them she super fit and strong too. Still wears converse without socks to like today's modern girls.
Thank you for telling me that it’s ok to wear flats when “dressed up”. I have arthritis that no longer allows me to wear heels and I avoid dressy occasions because I didn’t think I had appropriate shoes. You have made my day!
I want to love gracefully and elegant in high heels. That's my goal for now. I am 15 years old and I just start my adventure with high heels. My mom is helping me and with videos like yours. I will walk like a sensual and elegant lady. I love it.
When I have a new pair of heels that I need to break in, I wear them around the house for a day, while I do house work. That way they don't kill my feet the first time I wear them out! I also use gel inserts , which makes all the difference in the world☺👍
Perhaps Myka can also go over making shoes/heels more comfortable soon; but until then, if your feet hurt from wearing heels use medical tape to tape together toes 3-4 (from the big toe). I read we have a nerve there and that is what causes the pain. I tried it one night (with the inserts) when I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. I had flats with me just in case. Surprisingly, I never pulled out my flats.
It's great to have tricks to help! If your feet hurt from wearing heels that is a pointer to some alignment issues. You get those dealt with, you won't need the tape!
Hello Myka, I wanted to share this with you. It’s nothing big, but I was driving with my girls when suddenly your them song popped into my head. It made me smile when I was having a struggling day.
Great tips , unfortunately I have a tendency to look down when I’m. Walking in heels as I’m petrified off tripping over over, II think it may be a confidence thing or in my case lack of it Love from across the pond 🇬🇧
Hey! If you are worried about tripping over most likely its your ankles are rolling out. Ankle strengthening exercises will definitely help. When you feel stable, you won't need to look down!
The body posture tips are the same for ballet dancers. My of my dancer friends also find walking in heel easy because they are used to walking in on the balls of their feet, but we also walk with our feet turned out. In heels a little turn out is not noticeable when walking on the “ tight rope “ but in flats it can look a little like a funny. Thank you for the tips, I enjoy the video series.
Great video! I have been obsessed with heels since I was a teen and I want to believe that I walk very confidently in them but there is always room for more tips and tricks! Thank you for sharing your knowledge in these videos!
After 2 years of only walking in flat shoes after COVID hit, I tried walking in 3” heels today and thank God my husband was with me, omg, it was awful, I was Bambi
I thought this would never happen on my anniversary I had to opt for a fancy sandal. I was mortified. So that's why I'm here. My mom still wears heels and she's in her 70s.
Very helpful, efficient and concise presentation, thank you. I do have a question regarding the physical build characteristic of high heels. There are two main styles I see out there a lot. both involve stilletos about 100 to 120mm. The most popular style appears to be the one with the shoe heel built flat to the aft from the heel of the shoe on down such as in the Louboutin So Kate. The 2nd style is the more tradition heel that has a curve toward the aft thereby centering the weight of the leg and heel of the foot directly over the point of contact where the shoe heel meets the floor. And example of this would be the Louboutin Batignolles. I heard somewhere that one of those styles of shoe build is far more comfortable than the other. Do you know what those builds are called? Have you heard a "comfort report" on them?
Hello MykaX thank you for posting. I always enjoy it. This time I have another opinion about platforms, they don’t look that elegant as hills without platform, but I think they are more comfortable because of the platform, it makes the hill lower. I have a question one of my legs is thinner than the other, if we look at etiquette do I have to cover my legs with long dresses or pants or wear dresses I like (short ones )
I don’t know the etiquette rule for one of your legs being thinner, but I think if someone tells you you HAVE to wear a long skirt because of this problem, then that is judgmental. It’s up to you for what you are comfortable revealing to others and about your body and what you personally find flattering.
I have a few pairs of heels . They can be hard to walk & stand in . The best thing to is wearing around the house ect & get some gel in soles that should make them confy & I would say after you get gel insoles try wearing the heels you put the insoles in around the house before you wear them outside.
If you are sitting at a table where you can rest the saucer then you leave it at the table and only hold the teacup. You do not want to be sitting at a table holding a saucer and a teacup :) NOW... If you are standing and there is no table to rest the saucer on, you should be holding the saucer AND the teacup. Maybe I will do a "no-no" video on this for you :)
I've never worn heels before and I'm starting with 4" platforms >~< probably not the best choice but they were so cool, thank you so much for the tips! 🖤
I remember reading or hearing somewhere that you should walk toe-first in heels. Maybe for balance or something. Is that true? I don’t think I walk that way in heels.
Glad you are teaching women how to walk! Would you teach them how to talk too? Coming to America from Europe I am shocked of what I have seen so far! I feel I am 20 years behind! Americans are much sweet people but in general are not cultivated!
the problem is the shoes today in uk is made is crappy , so not only it destroys your health and can send u to emergency rooms but they r ver badly made so its impossible to walk in them. if i will wear heels only italian shoes are well made most of the time nothing els. my shoemaker confirmed it swell that italian shoes are made of different materials than shoes made in uk
I am old now late 70's but I still wear heels. When young I used to be able to run in them without even thinking about it.
Not old ! My mother is your age and still can"dance" in church in them. I love to hear this!
You know something funny. My 90 year old grammar is wearing high heels every day and tieks Flats to and can run in them she super fit and strong too. Still wears converse without socks to like today's modern girls.

Thank you for not shaming people who like flats or low heels.
Finally I found the most wise video about walking in flats!! Thank you so so so much!!! Myka, you are gorgeous!!

I look down too. Mostly because I have hip issues. I've found that practicing at home helps
I am petrified of tipping over as well, and breaking an ankle or worse. I have some lovely platform sandals, but now too afraid to wear. 😟

Heels very very bad for posture. Cause serious problems for the spine its NOT a natural or healthy way to walk.
Cmon I've about 20 pairs mainly strappy sandals and I'm a man.
How to walk in heels without clomping like a horse?
Oh my gosh! Shoes should conform to the feet, not the other way around. Bunions are so common because of this. Whose idea were high heels anyway?
Good god woman I've about 20 pairs of strappy sandals and my wife still treats me to more now and again.
why wear heels at all? they're bad for your feet and give you bunions
Because they are gorgeous.
Do u women REALLY OVERTHINK EVERY LIL DETAIL LIKE THAT? iM JUST TRYING TO IMAGINE THE MAN EQUIVELANT TO THIS
You should learn.
you are walking pigeon toed. need to fix your foot position to have a nicer walk.
