I mean go for it but understand that most people who are going to a food truck are going to go for hot food. You sell the sizzle not the steak. The food quality matters but you want there to something to grab attention. A smell or a sound together with the visual design of the truck is what gets new customers in the door. You’ll need to find a way to make subs sizzle or you’ll have an uphill battle and longer break even point.
For years and years I wanted to do this it was a dream of mine to be on this one corner in a town where my fiance is from here we are almost 10 years later and I am about to open a steak sandwich in a hot dog food truck on my to be father-in-law lot, that is that corner. He just so happened to buy that corner a few years back and I saved up for it and bought this trailer and I hope to god it works out so let's go baby I'm ready. I'm not sure that I could have done this without a free lease and some help from my father-in-law really you kind of have to have connections for this sort of thing unless you have all kinds of money and just want to be spending a bunch of money
@@AmericanTrucker89 idk the laws in your state, but in mine you need a food serving license for each county you’re going to park in, but yeah pretty much can park anywhere, as long as you have permission from the property owner if it’s private, if it’s public you may have to talk to the parks and Rec or county govn.
And that's not all you will need a federal employee permit so they continually tax everything you worked hard for and that's not all you will need a permit to speak, nod or gesture which is taxable

You gotta find good deals on the food truck itself most people who start these business have connections, and generally they work with family members. That's why you see so many taco trucks, Mexican families are more connected, they work in a team. I don't see this in the US nobody wanna work in a food truck they want to be something big, they rather hire employees to do the work for them, but that's where you lose the money, you gotta pay them good to care to do a good job or they start stealing from your inventory.

This is great information but you forgot to mention Commissaries that many states require. It’s a deal breaker
How good is just a sub food truck. You don't need to cook anything. All you need is atleast one or two fridges for the meat and stuff

It can be very lucrative. I just launched a pop up/catering business and I sold out on my 3rd event. Made around $700 in 6 hours working by myself.
