Here are my 3 specific answers for looking ahead (they never change)
1 - Money: "Obviously... As Much As Possible!
2 - Time: As little as possible.
3 - Exit: 3 - 5 years... yep, that's about right :)

Step 1 - forget this idea and find something that is more profitable... like most high street retail, few coffee shops can survive. Even in small UK towns locals flock to the Starbucks / Costa Coffee shops whilst local shops are mostly empty... Exception maybe some very rich suburbs or commuter villages when such corporate shops are not considered trendy enough.. but these are few and far between and rents are very high.

The less the better. The less indoctrinated you are the better as you wont limit yourself with the programming installed.
