Welcome back Another Andrew!! Love when he's on the show!!! So cool you guys kept in contact after he moved away! That was not as easy back in the day without cell phones and the internet.
Did they stay in contact all these years? Did Johnny say? Because it sounded to me like they interacted on Facebook years later but I could be wrong (that's one way of doing it, like Cobra Kai lol).
I had a friend/neighbor just like Andrew. He always got the newest consoles and games. First to get a ps1 and when I was able to play it it blew my mind. Good memories.
Lmao. Andrew said he’s just starting games from BF of last year. I definitely feel this because I still have games from 2-3 Black Fridays ago that I still haven’t started. Black Friday can be a curse and a blessing at the same time. Getting games for super cheap is a blessing but adding to an already huge backlog of games can be the curse.
Dude it doesn't matter when you play it, as long as eventually you do and enjoy it. Honestly I don't even believe in a 'backlog' anymore, my collection isn't huge but it's big enough that I enjoy being able to rotate between games and systems. Having a lot of games is a blessing not a curse in my opinion
I loved the discussion about waiting for games to drop in price. As quickly as games drop in price these days, I don't know why anyone would pay $60 for a game, unless it's something that just personally appeals to that person.
I personally never pay the full $80 CDN for a game. If I had more money, I probably would occasionally to support the game studio that made a game I really want - but not now.
Especially in Canada where it's like 93 dollars total. The only games I pay full price for nowadays are Nintendo games because they rarely drop. PS4 stuff usually drops insanely quick
I always wait at least a year to buy a game, and it is more than worth it. This Black Friday, I got 5 games for the price of one launch title: God of War: $10 Persona 5: $10 Crash Team Racing: $15 Kingdom Hearts III: $13 Ace Combat 7: $15
Lmao The figure 8 in the Desert to open the Dungeon!!! This ruined my whole childhood it took me years of going back and forth on that game to finally figure it out
Dont know if anyone cares but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my gf lately =)
I get you Johnny talking about how you felt playing Trials. That's exactly how I feel now playing Baldur's Gate on the Switch, I was worried too that the mechanics might be outdated, it's also using ruleset 2.0 of D&D but I just went with it and now I'm so engrossed in it. I also was kinda craving for something medieval-ish after finishing Witcher 3 on the Switch a couple of weeks back. The game just needed the right timing!👍
Waiting is good and i´ll do it almost every single release but it´s not affect Nintendo Switch releases , at least in here Europe you never see Nintendo games in sale.
In the states we rarely get sales. Your best bet is whenever GameStop offers buy buy 2 pre owned get 1 free (sometimes they do get 2 free) and that’s when i splurge on switch games
I’m only just now getting playing ps4 games and it’s a blast. Got tons of games for $9.99 or $20 or less on Black Friday. Making my way thru horizon zero dawn. Absolutely blown away. Have god of war, all the uncharted s, spider-man, re2, etc. waiting.
Black Friday is very deceptive for online shoppers because whenever there's a door buster the website will list it as unavailable but if you physically go into stores they'll be there for sure (so long as you go during the sale period).
hit and wait was how i played the first secret of mana .. or else the attacks did very little damage. maybe he doesnt remember how the first game worked?
Spamming your attack was one of the worst parts of SoM. It's good to have a natural pause between attacks because it makes it so you don't have to have the same annoying invulnerability frames. Secret of Mana always gets a pass for that and it drives me nuts, as that's a huge flaw with the game. Trials of Mana had hugely improved combat. I also like that they dealt with the annoying chain knockdowns that Secret of Mana had all too frequently.
I can watch you guys for hours! Johnny please do a long video as much as you can with Andrew before he leaves please! I enjoy when you guys talk, cheers!
Andrew should do some youtube videos. I know hes got a busy IRL job but i would love to watch a monthly video where he talks about games or old game stories
The whole “waiting for a game” is spot on. You don’t have to get EVERY game you want. I finally just played and beat Bloodstained Ritual of the Night on The Switch and it was so much fun and it seems they patched all the bugs and glitches. There was some frame rate issues in a couple areas but nothing too major, had a lot of fun with it!
RPG´s or action RPG´s are the only genre i don´t play anymore. The reason is i don´t have the time to play it, and here comes the dilemma: Phantasy Star Online 2 comes next year. I hope i will find a little bit time somehow to play it.
Me to. I don't know how anyone does except teenagers or kids. I can only play fast games where you play like 30 to 46 minutes so wii sports is perfect for me actually. I use to think it was a gimmick but the controls still work so well.
You could button mash before your character was set in SoM, but you would 0 or 1 damage. So, not sure what he meant on waiting to attack. All manas you have to wait to attack
Yeah you can't really button mash in Secret either. I don't think that is as noticeable in co-op though. Plus from the sound of it, it's been quite some time since he played it.
KH3 is one of my favorite PS4 games but yeah, I can definitely see that it's easy, and I think it's because they gave you the Attraction Flow early on rather that midway through.
Secret of Mana on the PS4 is awesome, the updated music levels it up a few more notches. The negative reception is mostly salty Nintendo basement dwellers
watching this hearing about not liking the red banded ps4 games. Back in the day I loved the green banded ps1 games, idk why maybe they popped more lol.
Boderlands 3 and outer worlds were on sale for 30 bucks each. I passed on it cause I know itll sit in my back catalog box for a year. Ill just wait for the goty versions and get those for 20.
I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the outer worlds, tend to keep updated with your videos, but this seems like a gem and getting it for xmas. would've been cool to have your opinion though.
With a few exceptions and some smaller niche titles I usually don't buy games day one especially in today's climate when new games are coming out left & right. Unfortunately if it is a big big game social media likes to spoil them.
I really hope Resident Evil 3 has ammo crafting. No one is talking about that. I guess I'm only one that is thinking about that :( Been playing RE 3 on PS3 super slim & having a lot of fun. Still got my original copy that my Uncle gave me as a kid.
Day one buys for me are just Limited Editions I really want and limited print games from companies like Limited Run Games. Everything else I can wait for.
That's the thing u grow up n sometimes there's not enough time to play , I own but haven't finish sekiro, days gone, resident evil 2 I only finished Leon's campaign, shenmue 3 I only started it , sometime I just need something fast that I'll enjoy n I'll play some cod mw multiplayer
To bad NIntendo most First party games doesn't even go down to 20. Look at BOTW or Mario Oddysee those games will never gonna go down like Resident evil 2 or God of war. BOTW is a launch game and the price still the same LOL.
Even in Secret of Mana you aren't supposed to spam the attack button. You do less damage (around 1 to 2 hit points of damage) on consecutive hits even though it allows you to swing and attack again. It was a way to incorporate something of the more turn based style into an action game perhaps so that it wouldn't be just a hack and slash game. If you got used to waiting for your % meter to get to 100 before swinging in Secret of Mana then Seiken Densetsu 3/ Trials of Mana's system would be more natural.
17 minutes only? I could listen to these guys for hours.
That's funny.......i was just coming down here to say the same exact thing lol
I was actually kinda caught off guard when they wrapped things up cause I thought we had like another 10 minutes or so
My legs were already completely asleep by the time we ended...
Just think of all of John's early game experiences with Andrew. Andrew was such a big part of his early life in gaming.
And vice versa, of course! I very much doubt I'd be a 49% console gamer if it weren't for Johnny.
Welcome back Another Andrew!! Love when he's on the show!!! So cool you guys kept in contact after he moved away! That was not as easy back in the day without cell phones and the internet.

“Punished Andrew” with the beard lol
I love these vids just speaking openly about a bunch of games
I'm picking up where I left off in Red Dead Redemption 2 after a year 😅

Love that kh beach music. Saten + johnny + rob man D&D vid would be perfect.
Happy to see old friends discuss about memories and new findings! Cheers guys! Happy Holidays.
Could listen to you two dudes talk forever!
I think Andrew should start the Happy PC Gamer channel
There's no way I could do the "brand" justice! 😆
funny that Andrew got stuck on that Palm Tree Riddle in FF Adventure like everyone did back in the Day when it came out
Love seeing Andrew again and I love these Game Chat episodes!
Andrew is the Ryu to Johnny's Ken, they grew up on the streets together
Ummmm....robman is ryu
@@altercell_ Robman is Megaman since we playing Marvel vs Capcom 2

Love ALL the videos with Rob and Andrew! More please! Now!

Didn't Secret of Mana also have that system which makes you wait in between hits? I don't think it's exclusive to Seiken Densetsu 3
