Fishing has come a long way from when I was kid through my adulthood. Cane pole fishing on the bank was always fun for me bring in fishes from crappie, bass, catfish, Pike, walleye, bream and so forth. It's a great way to relax and I appreciate your video very much. It's something every man or woman needs to teach their children.
I've done everything from backpacking to rock climbing to hunting, but now in my thirties I'm trying my hand at fishing for the first time. Thanks for this easy to follow video
Finally a modern bank fishing video. I've learned a lot from other channels but we don't all have a boat. Even if we do, we don't always have time to use the boat. We need more bank fishing videos.
My man, I am only 2 weeks into learning how to fish. My little brother got me into it actually, even though i grew up on the lake a decade before he was born. With all the info out there, this is the first video i have seen that feels clear and concise without throwing waaay to much info at me all at once. I appreciate you and you my friend have earned a sub. Please keep up the amazing work and energy!
I am 70 years old and fished for over 60 years. I was looking for something i forgot and what fisher men are doing today. Watch everything and read everything plus talk to fisher men and women we all have something in common. This guy is very good teaching.
Just subscribed. Great job! Quality bank fishing technique and advice videos are pretty rare on here, as most of the content out there seems boat based. I'd love to see you continue breaking down bank fishing for those of us, probably the majority of anglers, who don't have a boat!
Thanks for the tips. Just started bass fishing. Winter is not going well for me. Spent 6 hours on the bank today with nothing. Hopefully these tips will help.
Good job my friend! I would add one more thing. Stop about 10’ from the bank and make a couple of casts. I caught bass that way. Including a nice 4 pounder. Other wise you will spook any fish that might be there.
Thanks for the video man. We have a 380 acre private lake in my neighborhood and i just fish the bank areas that i can. There are a lot of bass and some big boys to be sure. Ive caught quite a few but the set up of the lake is unique and the fish are unpredictable
The title caught my attention, I thought, thats the video made for me. Lol. I just subscribed. Great video. I like that you keep it simple, get straight to the point and that your video isn't too long.
@FishingAngle Great introduction and Title to fishing, thanks Jeff. I fish often , either off the bank or kayak, in Rivers and Lakes. Many of my friends ask about tips like this video shares.
I just go full savage like I’m on a boat I carry six rods each with different specific lure setup then if I ever wanna switch baits or see something I wanna cast a specific bait at I just pick it up and sling it but yeah sometimes all you really want or need is one rod seems pretty practical good advice
LOL..for dummies. That would be me. Guy in the store "what are you fishing for?" Me: Dunno Where will you be fishing? Me: Dunno. Hiker..who decided to try fishing. He was nice..but I felt like a dummy. 🤣
Just wanted to check the brother out and found the jem i was looking for..,on point, very informative and attention to detail,I will enter the university now 👨🏿🎓😂👍🏿
I remember being 8 years old and competing in this “fishing with Grandpa tournament” that I won, caught over a dozen pan fish. Afterwards I was hungry so I started eating a snack and made the big mistake of not cleaning my hands off and I ended up getting bronchitis iirc. Ever since then after getting back into fishing I always keep a mini bottle of hand sanitizer in my tackle box.
Probably just some bad luck unfortunately I don’t believe bass carry bronchitis not to say you couldn’t get some germs off one but also you probably aren’t just eating with your hands out there anymore so your probably good
Hey man love the content. Im new to bass fishing as ive always salmon or trout fished. Is the setup for bass the same. Do i want to put a sliding weight on the line or ??
No sliding weight needed. Most jig heads have all the weight you need. There are some times where you may need a worm weight. Maybe I’ll do a video on it✊🏾✊🏾.
I’ve been fishing about a month and I’ve watched hundreds of videos on what to do. This is by far, the most helpful video for a new person. I also started my own channel to just show how terrible I am at this. 😂. But I’m getting better and videos like yours help!!!
You made my day. This is why I make video. We all start somewhere. I’m still trying to figure this thing out as I go. Most important thing is to have fun with it!
I am 65 this year and asked a young friend if he wanted to go fishing and he said, absolutely. He came over and I should have notice something was wrong when he alone showed up and I mean do mean alone. He had no chair, well okay he likes standing up or the ground. He had nothing to drink or eat. He didn't even have a pole. "You know that we're going fishing to catch fish don't you?" He nodded confidently, so I wondered about it for two seconds and then drove to our local water hole. When I pulled up to a nice spot that I have caught fish at since I was very young with my brother he asked surprisingly, "What are you doing?" "I'm going fishing." He looked at me stunned and said, "Oh no! Oh no, no, no! You don't have a Bass Boat?" "No, I have never needed one." ""O LY N****rs FISH ON THE BANK!" "Whoa dude! You know that my wife is Mixed." "APPARENTLY!" he shouted. I backed up and promptly took him home. I went back and caught my limit on Crappie and two decent Channel Catfish. That was just a couple of years ago. I am old enough to remember the Whites and Colored Only signs back in the 1960s in Dallas and being Choctaw I got really dark when I was young. I myself had been called that word back then and I now the hatred behind it. The word only belongs in the past and not on tbe lips of my friends. Haven't seen him since, Thank God.

It's great to see someone who still appreciates the joy of cane pole fishing!

Thanks. I appreciate the encouragement from a seasoned fishing Vet!!
Awesome that you made this video. We need more of these videos for people that are just learning, and really only have time to fish from the bank.
More to come!
I am one of those people but I also cannot afford a boat atm

Thanks for the tips. Just started bass fishing. Winter is not going well for me. Spent 6 hours on the bank today with nothing. Hopefully these tips will help.
That’s a bummer, but spring is right around the corner!
Good job my friend! I would add one more thing. Stop about 10’ from the bank and make a couple of casts. I caught bass that way. Including a nice 4 pounder. Other wise you will spook any fish that might be there.
Great advice, I'll be sure to include that in my next video!

Private lakes are so much fun!! Have fun out there!

We keep it simple over here. If I can do it, anyone can!

If I don't know an area will Fishbrain tell me areas around me to fish?
Yes it. Will. Just hit the map, and enter the location your going to and it will show you possibly spots on that area.
