I appreciate this video very much. My father died 14 years ago when I was just a kid. Every since then I almost forgot everything he taught me as a child. Watching your videos has given me some of those lost memories back.

John, My Father passed 24 years ago. Soon I will be the age that he died. 60! My Father taught me to fish. But not much else. But I cling to what he taught me. Don't put so much pressure on your self. Relax's Man! It will come to you. I don't try and be him. He was the best fisherman I ever seen. To this day I have never caught the big bass that he did. But I try everytime I go out. I caught 38 bass in 1hr and 15 minutes. I know he never did that. Just slow down and enjoy the outdoors and fishing. Thats what I do. Shawn

I didn't have a dad teach me this stuff, but I was mechanically inclined thanks to him early on in my life,. I'm in the army now and took up fishing thanks to a buddy of mine, my roommate left base and let me have his combo rod and small box after my buddy took me out once I got hooked. Been hitting every pond around my base and during my lunch. Still have much to learn and these vids helped a lot.

As a private pond "that's right next to a public road " owner thanks for saying that. I fear to many kids that watch some channels will begin jumping fences because they think it's ok. Not only is it illegal "poaching" but it's definitely a good way to get shot. Especially here in Texas. Leading by example is the best way to lead. Love the videos btw.

I go as far as taking my pliers and pressing down the barb on all my hooks. I lose a couple more and in fact just today lost what was a minimum 5 pounder, but when the fish swallows it or just gets stuck in the gills / throat it's easier to save the fish.

Flukemaster i have been on about a 1 year hiatus from fishin due to getting married and starting a new life with my wife. She is not too fond of me spending 100% of my free time on google earth and banks of ponds. I'm happy to say that I'm now well established and have some time to watch your videos again and apply your teachings. I love bank fishing the local ponds around here. I always go for structure in the water or an overhanging tree in the water. Dead trees, thick bulrushes just in the edge of the water, etc are great hotspots. I found a local lake not far from home about a month ago and decided to try it out. I located what appeared to be an old tree stump or possibly a pole from a pier. First cast on it and a 3 pounder lit up the wacky rig. I love the challenge of bass fishing.

My parents had a pond in the farm where I spent my teen years. The people who had the best chance of getting permission to fish were those who asked WITHOUT a rod in their hand or vehicle. They also encouraged culling the size bass on your video today.

I am from Costa Rica. During the Holy Week break I went fishing with my son for “rainbow bass” (Parachromis dovii), a ciclid and Machaca (Prochilodus mineatus), which is a feisty fighter related to the Brazilian piranha. We drove for four hours to Lake Arenal, a lake impoundment for the main power generation facility of the country which was establlished in 1978. The water is clear but not like your many glacier lakes and the depth is mostly 30 meters deep. The ambient temperature high and the water probably was within 22 degrees Centigrade. We started using top lures like a tiger patterned Big-O’s for machaca. No luck then! We changed to heavier lures with our spinning tackle, Shimano graphite rods and Shakespeare Sigma 2200-035’s and Cotton Cordell Super Shots and I got a bite from a “rainbow bass”. We tried trolling with Big-O’s without any luck! There was quite a lot of wind which made challenging reaching to our favorite fishing holes! We are at the end of the dry season! The many rivers that feed the lake impoundment were down to a trickle, the lake was perhaps down in level 5 meters. We fished the river mouths, many coves, and parallel to the coves. My son tried his trusty Mepps #2 Comet , a killer with rainbow bass minnow, but lost it before I could yank it from and underwater log. We’ve been lucky before with these rigs and approaches! Can you point us in the right direction?

+oRekless The main pond I fish in is smaller than that one. It's probably about 1/2 an acre, I have pics of it on my phone along with some of the bass and white crappie I caught out of it. Talked to the owner yesterday and he said that his ponds are low bc it's been in the mid to high 90s and very little rain. I usually don't get over there til 10 or later n by that time it's already between 92-96. That's the worst part of Louisiana summers, it's still 80℉ at 2:45am

My little ranch pond is about 25 feet north to south & 35 feet east to west. It's a little pond with quite a bit of fish, it's naturally rain filled, started out as a hole I dug in the ground in hopes of a pond and it happened (about 6 yrs ago it filled with water and held nicely) I put NO fish in this pond and its filled with fish now, lot of pumpkinseed perch and if I had to estimate 10 bass maybe a few more, max depth 11 1/2 feet average depth of 2 1/2 feet most of the middle is about 4-6 feet. Biggest bass I've caught 5 lbs out of it, got the pic on my facebook, there's thousands of minnows/bait fish swimming around. I believe it got it's fish from ducks and seagulls that occasionally use the water, they didn't come from a flood.

Gene, Give me your opinion on this honest to God true life scenario. I’m from northeast Alabama. South of Guntersville but n.e. None the less. My dad is 70 and he has been a member of a golf club since there since 1980. I was a member all my life until I turned 21. I’ve since joined two other times over the years for periods of years. In 1989 they built a smallish pond in the valley of the 14th fairway because number one it was a obnoxiously short par five and two they needed a water source for a water ring system for the entire course. They dug the pond in the summer of that year and stocked it with bass and bluegill. No maintenance or restocking has EVER BEEN DONE SINCE. Nor has any fish ever been removed from the pond.No fishery biologists have tested anything and it’s very, very seldom ever been fished. About 9 years ago I got turned onto bass fishing and decided to go out and cast a fire engine red spinner bass t on my only rod and reel which was a zebco rear drag spinning reel and a 6 ft quantum im6 rod that was my pawpaws. I casted that spinner bait for about an hour when something almost took the rod out of my hands and had I not have just played golf I’d have been in the drink but I had my spikes on. I have no idea what lb mono was on the reel but it
