- Helloooooo!! Today I decided to post something different because a) this type of content goes a little easier on me than what I usually do and b) I want people to be aware of what's going on in this community right now, even though I'm not really the person to be making serious videos. I feel like I sort of got back at the developer for altering my brainchemistry in an irreversible way as a child by doing this - I could genuinely make an hour long video about the things this game and the developer has done psychologically to kids like me, but I don't really think that I'm in a place to do so, lol!

The way you designed them made actually feel like teenagers, rather than fashionistas. I feel like Ayano resembling an average student with something underneath is perfect, and she looks cute too! And can we PLEASE talk about Osana? I love the detail of giving her cat earrings due to her interest in them!

Also Ringruru: Proceeds to make absolutely increíble models far superior to that of the original game while justifying the changes made and indirectly giving us ambient story telling through the character design while at the same time offering us far more enjoyable content in only a couple of months than what Yandere dev has in years.
Jokes and trashing on Yandere dev aside, I loved the redesigns, can’t wait to see more.

I remember when I first saw this game and wanted so badly to get but couldn't.
Yandere Dev has never been a person who I actually liked, but he brought up a concept that could've flourished. Hopefully someone can give this route a go and not be a total creep and actually good at making games and stories. Anyways, Love how the designs turned out! They're amazing ^^
Yeah, it's similar to Sword Art Online in that regard, the idea is actually really cool, but then the creator just messed up and the entire thing turned into a horrible mess...
I'm hoping Yan Sim gets sold to a better developer so it can finally reach its potential, but I have a feeling that won't ever happen.

@queenofdorks9364 that has a very low odds of happening. Iirc some companies tried to do thay and yan shit decided no because they wanted to be in control of everything
@@migu8328 At first yan dev actually refused nearly all the help he could get, (including FREE help) until later on. Yet he recieved tons of help before Yan sim got cancelled. He doesn't want to let his game go, but he'll have to eventually. He'll curb around similarly with companies
I think the biggest problem with the female models is that the boob slider just stretches the already low poly geometry of the base mesh, so it looks like 2 carved stones are covered by cloth that is glued on top. No clothing folds and looseness of anything. The cell shading can't hide the stretched quads in the meshes so the outlines look boxy as a result.
plus it’s literally only the boobs that can be changed on the body 😭
I think it would be interesting to see a redesign of Occult Club President Oka. I think her design works well enough already, but I’d like to see how you’d design her.
I also love her design already, especially her hair, but like I feel like she could be more spooky? Especially if she’s Occult club president. I always headcanoned her as a goth girl lol.

Ayano: She's a shy girl that likes to keep to herself for the most part, but has a small support group within the school. In her pervious years she used to have a bad streak of being rather violent, making her unapproachable to most. But she has definitely mellowed out and tends to try and blend in more, but her life is boring and she's not happy. Of course when she meets Taro, and begins to kill, she has to be aware that he previous record of violence will likely get her caught, so she has to be creative in getting rid of the competition around her. Ayano just wants to be happy, but seeing the one thing in the world that has brought her joy being taken away from her is just not going to slip by.
Osana: An ex-idol that just wants to start living a normal high school life, not really looking to begin a life in stardom once again. Her defensive persona puts her off from many people as she's not really sure who wants to actually be her friend or just trying to mooch off of her previous fame. She's been Taro's friend for years and has recently become friends with Raibaru, who is noticeable protective of Osana. As for cutting her hair when she starts dating, I see it as an act of rebellion against her family and fans since her most notable trait as an Idol was her long hair.
Amai: A sweet and friendly girl, often found in the Cooking Club during her free-time making treats for everyone around school. She's often seen working, not only on her family's bakery, but also in school which has many people rather concerned for her health. Many people within the school often talk to Amai and get advice from her and it seems like Amai is always making time for those around her. She's constantly working and occupying herself with things, so it's rather hard to get to know Amai, and many people are often just acquaintances with her as she works so much.
Sorry for this!! I'm just really passionate on rewriting the characters / story and this just sparked my motivation ^^" these aren't the best but I think they could work, as for the next characters, I'd like to see how you would redesign muja and mida, as I'm sure most people are as well!!

I love the lore and vibe of Eisjon Noaj's "Yandere Simulator 1980s Mode (Ryoba Aishi- Say My Name)" video.
The idea of Ayano being raised in an environment where her father has Stockholm syndrome (and is being abused), so Ayano perceiving that as normal. With anti-social personality disorder, but being very two faced. I love the idea of when she's with people, she's that innocent happy schoolgirl. But the second she's out of the public eye, she returns to her rather flat face. of course, with her family she's happy. They're the *only* ones who understand her. Ayano was raised to be the perfect sociopath. She has friend, yes, but she doesn't care about them very much--If at all. Viewing them as tools, an alibi--A cover. Her mother would've shared how she met her darling, and taught her all she knows.
I also h/c that the Father would have faded scars from his days of being held captive. Mainly around his wrists and ankles, maybe even throat

I honestly think if the game was to be finished, this would DEFINITELY be some sort of inspiration/motivation for Ayano's actions. Oh my god do I love this interpretation
the redesigns are very fun :) the only sad part about yandere simulator dying is all the work that actual talented people made for years are going down the drain :( the developer deserves the hate though
They're trash and if the game gets picked up by someone else Ruru should be kept far away from it.

Usually I am not a fan of redesigning others people work( unless it’s constructive) but since I was watching the whole yabneredev story for a while now, I do believe that the game idea is there. It’s just that he can’t make it or good characters so good on you for building on the base idea and fleshing these characters out properly.

To me the bland color palette of ayano works seeing as how she's supposed to be completely emotionless up until she meets taro. I think it allows her to feel static/stoic (?/?) while also not drawing to much attention to herself from other students for being that way because she's just an average girl. I mean, dark hair and eyes are common in Japan and the game is set in Japan. That's just my opinion though!

I appreciate how you kept their large chests cause some people are naturally born with them and they can’t control it.
The fact that you considered body type into the redesign is awesome. I know coding's hard (I've had a taste of it in highschool and god did I want death to reign on me) but even each of the characters' concept design lacked charm - the charm of realistic outlook. Yandere Sim has always been that way to me; it just feels like a game to simply waste your time on, and that's what simulators are supposed to be anyway, but the customizable aspect as well as the (obvious) 'appeal' to the game felt nothing more than a fever dream.
Yet simply diversifying physical traits of the characters made them stand out so much more. The difference in physical characteristics leaves the impression of background to the character, and tells a lot about their life and hobbies. I guess this is why I dislike customizing characters in games, since I rather get to know these characters more than have me make up their physical characteristics.
Speaking of which - _Please_ do Taro Yamada, and even do some proper backstory for him. It's honestly impossible for me to fathom how multiple women would fall for an average joe with the way YanSim portrays him, even though I know average joe's that attract a lot of women.
The model for ayano is not original, it’s literally from the unity store and he just never changed it 💀💀💀

I really appreciate the thoughtfulness you took to the vandalizing/redesigns, and I'd love to see a second video! The spider-lily flower language was a nice detail!
If you are going to continue, could any other rival be chubby? Like, I'm happy that people see Amai as chubby because they think she's kind and sweet, and your art is amazing, but if she's the only rival they redesign as chubby it gives the impression that it's just because of the food, I think at least Hanako could have this body type because of her personality and because she is a more common person in general.

Like I actually hate her as a rival like mida but if she was instead of nurse as example student-nurse who wants to learn more about this job would make her more cute and intresting rival
@@Ryoba__chan That's exactly what I have in mind when I think about her. If it were to keep them as adults they could be "special rivals", they do not interfere with the love for Senpai but directly in Ayano's life, they can suspend her, investigate her and find out what she is doing, etc.

I absolutely love Amai's body type that you gave her, it fits her so well, I also love the redesign of Osana and Ayano
Making her an idol or a populair image makes so much more sense then just being a tsundere,
And making ayano blend in with the crowd is also a good thing, she doesnt have much detail already, so making it feel like she can blend into any crowd like Kira Yoshikage from jojo is just a genious move
You should totally do Raibaru next, because it doesn't feel right to see a shiny new Osana and NOT see what you'd do with her best friend next.
When redesigning the story you should either nerf Raibaru's strength or make it so Ayano cannot snap if she hasn't dealt with Raibaru yet (if you even plan to keep snap as a concept), because I saw a good point somebody brought up where it talked about how snap and Raibaru clash. Snap makes Ayano strike fear into anyone and nobody can fight her (not even heroic students or students with a high self-defense stat), but Raibaru can and will disarm you the second you pull out a knife. I'm curious to see how you'll go with the other characters you plan to redesign, and i can't wait for the next video!
I think snap should be removed...why?Firstly let's be honnest the fact ayano was rejected doesn't make her stronger, second Raibaru would atleast try to aprehend ayano when she kills osana, third at least occult club should instead of standing in one place run away because they are cowards or student council should try to aprehend with paper spray ayano so...Snap can be left if it won't be like canon...What I'm saying it would be much better if it was easter egg not something that will be canon

@@Ryoba__chan Well, first of all, I didn't say anywhere that Ayano getting rejected made her stronger. I think snap is intended to show the "yan" part of her name, where she'll go absolutely insane if she doesn't get the one she truly loves most. Snap relies on the fear of the students, and it conflicts with Raibaru because she shouldn't be scared if she can disarm her in an instant.
Secondly, nowhere I mentioned Osana. Even if I did, there's literally a way in the game to kill Osana for real without getting seen by Raibaru, and there's plenty of fan-concepts for getting past Raibaru too.
Third, what does this third point have to do with.. anything? I see your point with the student council, but I can brush it off as Ayano being so insane she cannot easily be stopped with pepper spray due to being able to push all the pain aside. Or... yknow, they can just be scared. With the Occult Club, I don't think they're even relevant when we're talking about why snap and Raibaru conflict, because they literally don't matter. In the context of snap, they're just as scared as anyone else, frozen in fear.
Aside from literally every point you made, I do agree that getting rid of snap is a valid way of addressing the snap vs Raibaru problem.

The students are very hard to recognize in snap mode. I feel like it's more rewarding to only allow Ayano to snap if she has dealt with Raibaru first if we want to keep snap.
I mean, if Raibaru stops you, what's the point in snapping?

I would love to see you “vandalize” the nurse and teacher rival cause that was a big red flag before the YanDev drama even started. Instead of them being adult women preying on a minor they could’ve been actual students, like the teacher could’ve been a student who’s a tutor and helps Senpai do better in school and the nurse could’ve been a girl who is the nurse daughter or niece and wants to be just like her so she starts helping others with minor injuries around the school
As someone that followed GlitchTale Day 1, I totally get what it feels like to be betrayed by a content creator. Not sure how much you cared about Yandere Simulator but I hope you’re not too torn up over this whole situation. Much love Ruru ❤

I love your redesigns! A problem I had with the official designs is that they felt too “tropey”, like you could tell what trope they’re supposed to be. Yours convey what they are without it being over the top.
omg i actually love the new re-designs so much and you really showed their personality a lot more rather than having the old yandare dev designs these look a lot more appealing! I think you should do Cocona next (the pigtail drills girl i think that's her name). I can't wait to see more and i think this would be a really cool series. I would also love to see other re-design characters from different games or cartoon shows i think other people would really enjoy!

3:50 well... i was in Japan for 2 weeks (2 months ago), and while walking around all day, we would also see lots of school uniforms, i was surprised, some were really, really old-fashioned (i thought those were only a anime/manga thing, the shoos look so uncomfortable), but for most it was something in the middle and girls had often knee long skirts,but i was still surprised to see some uniforms had really, really short skirts.

Unlike yandere simulator, this video was really fun! Thanks for sharing your art with us. It was cool to see your painting process. I also like the idea of diversifying your content and occasionally doing things other than story time animations. So I would be interested in seeing more character redesigns.
On a side note, I've liked the recent trend of redesigning characters, and I've wanted to do it myself for some time, but I don't feel confident enough in my art to actually do it. Maybe someday...

I love it, I see a lot of redesigns where the colours aren't changed at all and they're just afraid to stray from the original design too much but you didn't do that and I'm really glad. I love you redesigns and I really hope you do more! :)

Wow found this late but I do want to say that the colorless pallet could work with her story, she claims that she could never feel anything before she met senpai. Don't get me wrong the red looks amazing and really pops some color in there but maybe it could be a more subtle red splashed in there, like heterochromia of some sort. Like one red and one gray, cool, classic, gives both edgy vibes and unique cuteness given the rest of the lines make her cutesy. I do think central heterochromia would work for her story, like, imagine if you will: the red bursting from her pupils as she feels emotions for the first time by meeting senpai, seeing color and it's red, like a blossoming red rose. Then, it symbolizes the hate she feels for the rivals... the fact she's seeing red when around them for "stealing her senpai", how the pupils almost look like a blood splatter... Again, loving the red but the colorlessness does lend itself to the story she had of not being able to feel.
Honestly I love the fan designs, especially Amai's from how cute you made her! I forgot about Yandere Simulator for a good amount of time, but the news doesn't surprise me at this point. Still the designs are amazing and I love them!

I love all three of them, especially Amai's. I never really liked it that all the girls in Yandere Simulator were all busty and slim, thanks for making that change.

You said you're not a pro character design but your designs are AMAZING and you're so good at explaining your process, as well as incorporating lore and personality into the designs itself.
Even before Yandere Dev was outed to be a predator, my biggest criticism about the characters is that the only difference in their design is their stockings and hairstyle (and to give context, I'm absolutely not a critic and I never really nitpick anything, so me having that thought is saying something). I LOVE your redesigns of Osana and Amai the most, I think their personalities just SHINE through their design, facial expression, posture, etc... I'd love to see you do more redesigns like this, especially the Drama club rival (forgot the name lmfao) because I think there's a lot of design potential with her personality alone.

While it was obvious from day one but like, though the game overall is lacking and shouldn't have taken this long to get where it is, it's kinda sad to see it go. Despite its problems I genuinely enjoy the main idea and think it was built by the fans. I think the volunteers who where built it from the ground up should be able to take the project over and revamp it to what it should be, what we wanted. I miss the old videos when updates that basically did nothing were fun and new. This game deserves better, us the fans deserve better, and the victims deserve justice

I actually do like Ayano's design. She's not anything really special compared to her rivals (who seem to be unique with distinct designs) which I think fits her role as a jealous murderer lol. Shes just an average-looking girl and that may be why shes so threatened by competition. But I like what you did with her, it still fits this role.
I like how Osana even looks similar to a lot of Japanese idols, and even looks like other red-haired anime idols while still looking very much like herself. The original Osana honestly does look like what YanDev intended her to be; an amalgamation of references for people to point at and go "Oh! I know this!". Now she truly feels like her own character with in-world and out-world inspirations (I couldn't help but think of Yumemi from Kakegurui when I saw the hair and eye combo)
2:57 The minute you drew in the Spider Lilly my mind was like "Yes. This flower is used as a flower for funerals in Japan so this works so well with Ayano"

I have an idea how to not only redesign Mida,but also rewrite her. She sould be one of those cool teachers everyone likes,and she also really cares about the students safety,so when Ayano starts to have not very good reputation,Mida thinks she's a bad influence to Taro and just want to protect him.

I feel like Ayano’s design before was actually fine, I like how they made her look like a “background character” like someone you won’t look at twice when you’re at school, it makes sense for her to look bland and not like a “main character” imo
The redesign still loos somewhat background charactery, the rest of the characters are so colorful and have accessories and stuff while she just doesn't.

I understand that you wanted to try out smt new when making videos (which I absolutely adore, btw) and that you probably didn't want to specialize in this genre of video games, but I still wanted to moot the idea of creating an analysis and speed paint (like this video but with a bit more deep dive into the characters) about doki doki. I ain't sure if thats the direction you want to go (especially when you haven't uploaded many videos yet).
But theyre a lot alike, and I really love the way you understand how the characters work and your ability to put your "conclusion" the right way into your drawings
