  • Heya there! Thank you for watching my video - and to the returning viewers - WELCOME BACK!! This is my second video ever and I still cannot find the words to express how truly grateful I am for all the support you guys have shown me! I'm not sure if it's too early for this, but I was planning on doing a Q&A, so you guys could get to know me better as a creator (with actual real facts instead of dumb stories haha). So if you have any questions, pop 'em down below! :)
Here's the new Social Media Accounts, where I'll try to post as regular as I can, while school stuff hinders me to work on more youtube videos (because trust me, this was painful to do in a school week).
    Twitter (X): @ringruruyt
    Instagram: @ringruruyt
(I can't put links in here bc YT doesn't allow me to verify my ID AAAA)
I will put a lot of time into my last school year, so please be patient with video uploads! I have a lot of video ideas that I want to pursue, so stay put and ily guys :)

I quite LITERALLY have the SAME situation
    1) Russian
    2) German (born there)
    3) English
It's all fun in games until you start accidentaly mixing some words from different languages. ah the pain.

Good thing you learned German so early.

Very relatable! I was also born in Russia and moved to Germany in 2012, learned the German language quite well to a point where people weren't able to tell that I am a Russian just from me speaking German. A funny thing is that I more look like an Asian, as I was born as a part of an Asian ethnic minority in Russia (Buryats) and many people think I am a Chinese and not a Russian. Sadly, my Russian speaking skills are kinda decaying as I mostly only use German, but I still speak Russian with my Mother mixed with a lot of German.

  • @creamymintchicchip8454
    @creamymintchicchip8454 7 месяцев назад +2

Omg just when I thought you couldn’t get more relatable you drop this?! I’m born and raised English but my dad’s Ecuadorean (🇪🇨 North West South America) so I’m partially fluent in Spanish.
This leads to me communicating with my insane amount of Ecuadorean family members and friends of my dad. I often forget Spanish words but know the English. In fact I knew the Spanish version of Maleficent (the villian from sleeping beauty) before the English version (the Spanish version is maléfica) and I associate sleeping beauty with Spanish because I had a Spanish book of the story. People who know me often don’t realise I’m mixed race until I mention it which leads to questions about language at home and the location of Ecuador. Some people get confused about if I’m from Spain and if I’m Spanish or Ecuadorean or Hispanic (I’m not even sure anymore) and if I was born here or abroad.
One time I was called out of class to check how my English is despite English being my first language due to confusion 🤣 Another funny story was when my mum told me that people assumed that my mum was a babysitter because I looked way more like my dad 😬 Even on official online documents, there isn’t an option to choose ‘mixed race white and South American’ (which I think is stupid) 😠

Even though I, in fact, do not speak russian at all, I can understand it without any problems. I had to learn German pretty much all by myself (except the grammar part, I had therapy for that) and it was even harder to learn for someone, who has atypical autism. I speak 4 languages on a conversational level (Hungarian as my native tongue, English C1, German B2, and Russian starting to get there after 4 years of school), and brain rumble is a real thing. My English used to greatly overwrite my German, and now my German tends to overwrite my Russian, because the grammar is so similar.
But now it started to work the other way around: an Austrian coach asked me (I was a referee in a Taekwondo competition) in German (I've spoken to her in German after I saw her club is from Vienna) when the prices get handed out as they have to return to Vienna, and I started speaking German, the word результат popped up in my head, realized mid-sentence (before saying the word) that it is in Russian and that I won't remember the word Ergebniss for the love of my life. Had to say that particular word in English. (Also told "да" consistently instead of "ja".)
This other thing happened earlier, I was at a Russian language competition and I had to speak. My vocabulary and confidence in my Russian knowledge was... lacking, to say the least, and in middle of the last part (speaking, мой кошмар) my brain switched over to German and refused to switch back.

As another person, whose family immigrated to Germany, I am very thankful for this video, and I could relate a lot. I am from Hungary, and I was 10 when me and my family moved to Germany. Even though I very definetly identify with the hungarian culture more and my mother tounge and the language I speak the best is hungarian, I don't know, how much that's the case for my younger brothers. It is always so humbling when my little brother doesn't find a word and then just continues to say the sentence in german. Its even more humbling when I myself do that.😅
The brain rumble is so real! I hate it when a word only comes to my mind in german, like english is okay, but I am kinda scared to lose my hungarian identity, as my german isn't very good and I also have no connection to the culture. Like what if I become a cultureless and national identityless blob, who can't even properly speak the language of the country he has spent the first ten years of his life in?!
Other than that, I think I am very thankful for the experience of living in another country, also because I now speak more languages then I would have. I also really enjoy learning languages, around a year ago I started learning russian. I am really happy to see people with similar sitoations, and I could relate a lot to your video. Overall, I thank you for making this great video!

i was so pleasantly surprised when you mentioned Kyrgyzstan because
well.. I lived there when I was a kid and literally no one I've ever met knew where that is (except when they had to do a presentation in geography in school about it)
I can so totally relate to everything you're saying and also the language situation!
I did grew up bilingual, Russian (because my mom and I lived in the capital of Kyrgyzstan and there is the influence of Russia quite strong) and German (because of my mother who is German) but I originally was born in Germany - so its quite a story to tell new people I meet.
Also I'm learning English in school (French too but I'm not nearly on a level to actually converse with anybody other than my fellow classmates) and through books and TV shows im quite good at it now.
Just sadly I forgot most of my Russian (otherwise I would have the exactly same situation as you ;)) but I was around five years old when we moved back to Germany and after that I just didn't use Russian anymore.
Right now I'm developing for the first time in years the desire to learn it again (really hoping to succeed because its such a beautiful language!)
Anyway, much love from me and really, go girl!! so impressing with your art and storytelling!!

OMG the Brain Rumble is REAL! Luckily, so many young people where I am mostly speak Spanglish anyways, due to English just being so prominent anyway. It’s kinda beautiful, but also a lot of language can be lost as it’s adapted. Also, I hate the whole “where are you from?” questioning. It’s pretty prominent here in the states, especially with Asian Americans. Just a little annoying when people expect you to have an answer that’s not just “I’m from, and grew up here.”
Great video, and I’m a big fan of how you use some light animation for your boards. I’m thinking of adopting a similar style if I ever get into making videos like this, because it really is such an appealing and cute style! Especially with how you draw your characters. Pink hair rules btw!
Also, one final note: good luck in your final year of highschool, and hope you have fun!

I usually don't comment on videos like this but i've never seen anyone with the same struggles as I and it geniuenly is kinda comforting to know there are other people with simmalar experiences like this, especially the brain fog part especially resonated with me, having struggles speaking German despite being there almost my whole life and knowing how to speak English perfectly out of nowhere lol XD I was also born in Germany but 2 years after my birth my parents decided to move back to Poland and then back to Germany when I turned 8 years old.. I technically speak Polish fluently and I don't have any German accent whatsoever but my Wortschatz (XD) can be quite bad and there are some words I tend to mix up alot, and while I obv can speak German as well, due to being kinda isolated in my secondary school years with having almost no IRL friends besides 2 other Polish girls, not consuming German media and not speaking German before outside of school, my German, despite living 10 years, is extremly behind but in recent years I've found some really good friends that I can only communicate in either German & bit of English aswell and finally started reading more German books which has helped me a lot so atleast i'm on the right path as of now :-))) liebe grüße bist voll die coole!

@@kunjute some kind of luck.

Tbh it isn't that impressive (I say that also as a trillingual (quad if you count translating latin lmao). You can easily learn many different languages during childhood. India, China and the Philippines are perfect examples for that. Indians often speak 4 to 7 different languages, Chinese learn traditional, mandarin and their own provinces regional dialect/language and philipinos speak tagalog, Spanish, and Chinese aswell as the combination language of those three. The earlier you learn the easier it is.

also i really really wanna learn russian i love that language so much. im trying to learn but i just have so much school stuff to do i dont have the time. im in year 11 and have mocks coming up then before i know it exams soo
