Thanks for this video, it was very helpful. I flew United last year from Sydney to San Francisco, stayed 2 days then SFO to LHR all in regular economy. Overall the trip was good. The crew were very professional & considerate, the food was ok & I will definitely fly with United again. Regarding the bulkhead seats I like the fact that no-one can lean back into you but worry about not having bags at your feet during take off etc. I have become sick & tired of people arguing over the overhead locker space that for last few trips I never use it - just have personal backpack at my seat (which I sometimes use as footrest during flight). If crew had to take my backpack prior to landing because no room overhead I'd be concerned about getting it at the end.
I have mixed feelings about bulkhead seats. Staring at a wall for many hours. But no one reclining into your space. Leg room better for different seating positions, but not as good for stretching out, as you noted. I’m 188cm. I enjoy your videos.
Thank you, this video is really informative. I’ve booked the central of these exact same bulkhead seats for a flight from Heathrow to San Francisco next week. I’m travelling solo. There was no extra supplement and I thought the extra legroom would be handy but I’m a little nervous about having to use the overhead locker in case people are jostling for space, and I’m not a fan of constantly having to be up and down from the overhead locker. I’m also a little worried about whether being in the middle will feel as private and cosy in a bulkhead as it can when there’s a seat in front of you. I would never normally choose the middle seat as I need to use the toilet a lot but I’m hoping it’ll be easy to nip over my neighbour with so much space. Does the tray table and screen feel flimsy?
Hi, the screen is a bit smaller compared with a regular economy seat but with good quiality. The tray table worked fine for us . Please note that is only during start and landing when you are not allowed to have any luggage or cloth in front of you. Between this you can have your bag on the floor. Safe travel!
During start and landing your bags must me stowed away in the luggage compartment above you. After start you are free to have your bags in front of you
its a standard economy seat so the same recline as ordinary economy, just better legroom. No foot rest in bulk head, more space with bulkhead but a disadvantage is having a wall in front of you not able to strech out your feet under the seat
Do you remember if you needed to exit the United terminal and go through security again to get to the international terminal? I’m flying United in February, but would like to go to the international terminal since I have access to the lounges there.
Sorry for the late response , I am quite sure that we did not have to pass security again. The United Lounge we visited was not in the international SFO terminal and I am pretty sure we went directly to the international terminal without passing security. Wish you a nice trip in February!

Yes I agree with you, we will soon try it again on a 13 hours flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles:>)

How was the storage for your bags? Was there room around the bulkhead?

What was the recline and leg/foot rest like in the bulk head Economy Plus seat?

How tall are you? And could you get out your seat without disturbing people?
