    Imagine being forced to watch this by Shubham while drunk.
    Now imagine shubham explaining every part in detail while drunk.
    Now imagine listening to it while being stuck in gurgaon traffic.😂

    Hey Bhaiya! I am really interested in research and would love to do physics, and I'll be sitting for JEE next year. It would really help me if you could tell me what your backup plan is in case you can't get into academia, as you are only Indian doing a physics PhD I'm aware of. It would help me a lot. Thanks.

      Some of my friends are pursuing Data science streams now, there's also scope in statistics, general team management etc. And if everything falls, you can always do an MBA 🙂

    How were you able to get that opportunity to work with PhD from Caltech as an undergrad ?

    • @ShubhamKejriwal
      @ShubhamKejriwal  Год назад

      I was working with a postdoc* there. I just emailed them with my CV and asked for a project. I got a bit lucky, not gonna lie :)

      @@ShubhamKejriwal thank you for replying, how were you able to get to know about their work, from journals? And was the problem you were solving pitched to them by you or you joined them in the problem they were solving?

    • @ShubhamKejriwal
      @ShubhamKejriwal  Год назад

      Google scholar, reading papers on arxiv, i keep looking for relevant research fields there and contact those people who's names frequently pop up.
      The research problems are generally given by the advisor at the UG level. As a postgrad, you and your advisor work together to identify a project

    Some advice for aspiring scientist(currently under grad) from a third tier college please.

    • @ShubhamKejriwal
      @ShubhamKejriwal  Год назад

      As said in the video, please do not restrict yourself to only one field of research. Look out for whatever opportunities come your way, and do research even in fields that may not be directly related to the field you want to pursue your career in. UG is a good time to explore and if you are able to show on your CV that you are capable of doing quality research (regardless of the field) then that works really well with admission committees for PhD/Masters programs.

      @@ShubhamKejriwal got it thank you for replying, one more concern of my is that are you able to save some money from your stipend to send to your family, is something like 20-30k per month possible to save?

    • @ShubhamKejriwal
      @ShubhamKejriwal  Год назад

      Depends purely on your lifestyle but at NUS it is possible. Might be more difficult in India.
