yeah I don't find myself a typical "youtuber" either, I make videos when I feel like it, I don't monotize my channel. Yet people are like.... expecting me to upload? "well you haven't made anything in ____ years!!" they say. It's like.... yeah? I haven't? because My life has gotten wonderfuly complex?
Wdym ? What is your peril?
I ask this, bc most ppl are commenting that, bc they like your content and would like morea nd not from a place of malice or pretentious 😊
What is your problem?
@@rchaelk2319 I want to answer your question with a proverb.
"no snowflake feels responsible for the avalanche" It's the AMOUNT of comments. Im working on exciting new endevors things outside of youtube. Making more youtube animations isn't a challenge anymore like it used to be. I want to learn and grow, do things i haven't seen before. Things I tried to share, and every time, eyes, [the audiences] glaze over and I get comments, and people telling it to my face. "yeah, but when are you going to stop all that an make more youtube videos?"
spankey spankey
@@PikaPeteyI hope everything goes well for you! do you no matter the circumstances 👏
@@PikaPetey And after the audience binges everything you have produced, they'll still ask for more. To the audience, the hours you spend making a video is literally minutes to them. So by definition, unless you have a team to help you produce videos, you will eventually not satisfy your audience.
Toniko, for the most of us. We’ve never looked at your videos as a RUclipsr. More of a teacher/inspiration and we are grateful to see these videos. You are such a great inspiration dude.
I’ve been following you for years now and I’ve always loved the animations that u uploaded. Would love to see more independent animations/ projects. U probably talked about it but you should consider opening up a Patreon. Love you dude.
? What is this then? Like they are a youtuber because they make videos on youtube.
@@GreenBlueWalkthrough not RUclipsr as a career. Occupation isn’t RUclipsr yk?
Well said. Fully agree!
You have put this in simply wonderfull words
RUclips is turning into total garbage. The ratio of real comments/questions to "skibidi beepboop bro fell off pixxx in bio" bot comments is getting smaller every day. I only get about $40 a month from everything I've uploaded on RUclips, and since I'm working on a very long-form animation, the only way I can make more than that is if I burn myself out by making "algorithm-friendly" shorts or re-uploads of old stuff on a regular basis. I keep my Patreon members updated every week, and anyone that wants to check up on me can see me streaming my work on Twitch almost every day. RUclips serves as little more than a public archive of my official work at this point, and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.
Go to newgrounds dude.
Toniko i love your work you are one of my inspirations to get into the animation industry 👍
You might want to be careful; a lot of studios are turning towards AI and laying off multiple employees. That, and underpaying them for their services. If you’re interested, there’s also the indie animation route that you could take in your pursuit of animation (career-wise) albeit it has some obstacles (financial, funding, time-consumption, possible team coordination, etc.) Sorry about this. I just thought I’d warn you about some things occurring surrounding the animation industry that I’ve heard from people who covered issues on the industry.
Aside from this, I wish you luck in your efforts, and I hope you have a good day. Sorry again about the warning; I just thought I’d let you know what I’ve learned and heard.
@@13sinra13 I am aware that the animation industry is not going through its best times right now but I still want to be able to give it a try. Still thank you for the advice
Please dont stop you have been the only artist i watch because you help me figure out what im possibly doing wrong and without your tips i would never be into animation and working on my own passion project today. You dont need to strain yourself but please dont stop i love these editorials/tutorials. I mean do what feels right all the way full support, but i love the insight you have on this platform
i like to do art as a hobby, but i genuinely like just watching you giving tips i might or might not use, THANKS MAN.
Thank you for telling us about your personal struggles with animating and being a RUclipsr. The grind does get tough at times, especially with the RUclips algorithm and animating in general. But about that part of making higher quality videos…you already do that. You give us efficient and insightful insights on animating, and how people approach animation in general, much like how your previous video covered why people quit and scrap their passion projects from a matured perspective. And I think that it’s also good that you’re taking a step back on uploads and you’re working at your own pace. I find this personally impressively helpful, for both you and your audience. That way, you can relax yourself and not stress about uploads. If you need, take some extra time of rest and relaxation before you decide to animate or upload; or just do things at your own pace like how you stated before. Aside from this, I hope you have a great day, and congratulations on passing 300,100 subscribers! I hope you have a good day!
Toniko, I just want to say that your videos have actually given me hope when it comes to creative projects as a whole, whether it's a hobby, passion, or even a commercial project. Your commentary videos are already doing enough for the indie animation community on this platform even if being a youtuber isn't really for you. The fear of being forgotten is understandable to some extent, but considering how I stumbled upon your channel in a time where I doubted myself, along with a lot of other people, I don't see that happening any time soon. So for that, I am grateful.
Also, congrats for reaching this milestone! ^^
Really appreciated this one!! I love the well rounded perspective that you share in the process and journey. Personally, while I get so much from your videos and always learn something new, I do endorse you having the opportunity to focus less on the channel in favor of your personal work thriving! It's so important to remember things can come in waves, and if we have a few months where we're only getting 1 or 2 videos, but you're more fulfilled in creating, THAT is what your community will want most!
Bro after making tons of videos

Toniko, you are awesome. I will always follow your work even if it's not in the form of youtube 😁.
i really love your work and i would love see your animatics man
I just want to say I’m really grateful I came across your videos throughout my art journey!
I think what’s special about your videos is your point of view - like how you often talked about topics which might not discussed that often around creators but very much exist. I find your videos are really helpful for artist self-development.
Also, seeing great artist like you sharing your process & journey in art is really redeeming cause it makes me realize that everyone is having their own battle, thus what I’m experiencing is normal not because of my incapability. :”)
Thank you so much for sharing your stories in RUclips! Looking forward to whatever you’re working on in the future! 🙏
I cant wait to see what you do with your creative endeavors!
i would love to see anything from you, thanks for inspiring me and a lot others! :D
Good luck out there toniko!
I bet he will be reading this comment.
Yes, at least 15 minutes a day he will be reading that from now on
Thank you for sharing your situation. I hope you find peace in everything.
It's quite surprising just how much of your head space, energy and time a RUclips channel can take up, irrespective of its size. I've found it challenging to balance my own channel with the comic(s) but I've realised that the more I take the time to work on personal stuff, the more inspired I am to make videos about what I'm working on, which are usually the quickest/easiest to make because of that creative fulfilment.
You've got to make the best choice for you at the end of the day. A community is a community because they look out for each other and yours looks out for you!
Hey just came here to thank you for all the informative videos that helped immensely with my journey, thx a lot man
Thank you for the video! I am so glad you make stuff on here, for I find your content very informative, educational, and extremely helpful. I am an aspiring animator, and again your work/videos have really helped me. I always feel excited when you post a new video. It is perfectly fine if you need to slow down, and the need to do so is very valid. What's the point of doing it if it is just going to (creatively or generally) burn you out? Thanks for sharing your thoughts as always!
i love how you say creative/creatively.
As a small artist myself, you're an artist I genuinely look up to as a role model. I'm really excited for you as a fellow creative if you want to go down the route of making indie productions and slowing down on YT. Do what calls to you and know you just happen to have a little audience that's gonna be excited to see those projects! :)))
I love your videos and explantions, i think your one of the best on this platform
I feel the same man. Early on, I felt this pressure that I had to be a youtuber in order to be a successful artist. But as the years go by, I too learned that its just not the case. And now I feel happier, less weighed down, and freer to tackle whatever I want without worrying about an upload schedule.
I really appreciate the nod to MGS in the thumbnail lol
Please dont quit your the only animator that ive learned and took inspiration from, without you i wouldn't have been able to do mini animations 😭
Broo you've helped me soo much on my first project that I chose to mix 2d /3d. 😊Hope you'll also read it
THank you
I wanna see the lil animations like the sketchbook one 🤠🤠
It's perfectly understandable. I myself am only using RUclips just to show case my portfolio.
Something similar happened to me. Except that in my case, I was prioritizing trying to teach in a blog about topics that crossed my mind that made sense to me rather than devoting more time to my career and learning.
It wasn't until I discovered that it was consuming too much of my time and that I expressed myself really poorly for what I really was that I decided to take a safe distance from that habit to focus more on myself and my proyects.
how incerdible healthy that decision was still scares me
I like the quick and silly cartoons you make, like where the dog sticks a book up his butt
I VERY MUCH so struggled all of last year and the start of this year. I saw a contest for animation going on and put my skills to the test and hope someone would notice and use my skills to get by.
Nothing was ever done about the contest, and I found no work to get by on. Fortunately, about a month ago, I got an actual viable job.
So I'm not animating for others, anymore
lol that MGS4 reference is so random
Would you ever do the patreon short thing? Like the brave locomotive etc
I work as a game dev for a company, and I do 2D animation for my passion project in my free time. It's really fun when we're able to give time to the things we love to do. Hope you're also having fun dedicating time to your passion.
We are artists first, occupation second ALWAYS.
Good a it your future a work animation your ❤!
Great video but when I hear your voice, I can't unhear the two guys bragging about their sketchbooks 😆
Love you DOG man
Hello from Iceland
even though I don't know animating, I still want to animate something even though it would be garbage
me too bro
HI there. I honestly would love to see more creative work from you instead of those casual vlogs where you talk about things in the animation industry and about your life. I would love to see more animations about your dog character and stuff like that. Still I related to your casual vlogs on a personal level and the helped me so much. But seriously, do want you want to do. Heck, I'm sure future artists can really benefit from your casual vlogs. But, uh, yeah, I really want to see more of your creative work.
Nice
We don't forget you.
I've been saying this for a long time; I use youtube as a means to show my personal work. If I called myself a youtuber, it would devalue those works.
I like it
Thats why I post casually, also that I'm not making any money from youtube

"Iam no youtuber" mate with this upload schedule youre not gonna be a homeowner anymore
Do u have a video on how to upload krita animations to RUclips I’ve been having trouble trying to turn my animations into RUclips videos and every time I I try it always says my video I tried to upload says it’s been abandoned so I end up having to delete it do u know how I can finally put my videos on RUclips like u with krita
I'm no viewer. I just watch your videos. I don't do it professionally... you know, I can't be a 24\7 viewer. Imperfect audience for the imperfect awesome YT animator. ;)
once your audience binges everything you have ever produced, they'll still ask for more. To the audience, the hours you spend making a video is literally mere minutes to their consumption. So by definition, unless you have a team to help you produce videos (like Mr. Beast, you will eventually not satisfy your audience. And in the Art space, the audience does not allow the creator to offload tasks. Art channels have to be 'intimate' 'personal'.
