I'm literally setting up my Tascam 24 as you are just with Ableton instead . Had it since it came out but finally got down to setting up after a few years of buying additional gear. Nice vid thanks. Can't wait to get dirty with some Dubbin'z 😎
So this console could allow you to load a set of pre-recorded songs in multitrack format? Could you perform a live-mixing set independent from any DAW/ Computer? I've seen Mad Professor mixing live and i've always wanted to figure-out an efficient way to have a portable setup of that kind !! Would the Model 24 be the answer in your opinion? Thanks!!
Wicked stuff...im thinking of getting this desk....i have a tascam dp 24.. ..but id like to have a desk that works with cubase etc..... i also love dub and would like to be able to mix live in a mix on cubase and have control on the desk....would you say this desk is ideal for this... thank u
How do you make the computer listen to the processed final audio to be recorded on OBS or other similar software? I mean, I have a pre-amp on my sub out returning to 3/4 in the mixing desk. But if I play a mp3 file on my computer and then mess around with the pre-amp, I'll get the processed audio on my monitors, but my computer only listens to the full mp3, without any pre-amp processing. Thanks for the video!
The model 24 sends back the master mix on channels 23/24 to your computer so if you set up a record channel to receive audio from 23/24 (not sure what model you have it might be different channels) then you will be able to record the audio of everything coming out of the mixer to the record channel. (make sure monitoring is turned off in the computer or you will get a double signal and bad sounds) I havent gotten this mixer to work with obs so i just record into reaper and then lineup the video in vegas/moviemaker. Hope this helps thanks for checkin!!!!
@@BigEarsSounds Thanks brother! I could only manage to make it work with OBS by using another Audio Interface (SSL 2+) to get the output from the Control Room of the Model 24 and then configuring OBS to listen to the SSL 2+ Audio Device. But I've tried other ways like using obs-asio plugin or VoiceMeeter Banana but couldn't make it work.
Hey thanks for your interest, I know you can run a cable from the sub/mon/fx outputs back into your mixer into the daw and then run internal plugins There is some routing and monitoring settings to setup depending on the daw There might be some phasing (unwanted) so you would have to mess with your latency settings and I dont have much experience doing it this way. One thing you can do is setup an external usb midi mixer and control all the internal fx with that and still have the option for the outboard fx This will give you the most flexibility
nice setup, very inspiring
Love the thorough explanation followed by an outstanding demonstration! Great video man!
Bless Up Thank You Much Love!!
please do more gear videos! your dubs are fire and your rig is fire too!
Thanks!! Im getting a new mixer this week and will make some videos setting it up
This is just what I needed! perfect tutorial not only specific for the Model 24 but for throwing dubs on bus faders too.
Glad you could use this info thanks for checkin!!!

Yes you can load and play multitracks from the SD card!! Big Love to Mad Professor!!✌💚
Would it work to play the individual channels from the 24’s SD card instead of the DAW? Would the FX chains still work?
ya you can run the tracks from the sd card and use the external fx the same way. Thanks for your interest!
Hi love that space echo sound, where did you get the coloured faders they look cool..
Thank You So Much!!! I painted the faders with acrylic paint and then clear coat/modge podge them thanks for your interest!!

So are you just sending the audio from the DAW into the Model 24 just using the USB?
Yup!

Thanks for sharing your setup. Would it work if I want to use plugin effects instead of gear effects ?
