    Do you use an specific order to place Pedal effects in the chain?
    Do you assign an axul channel for each effect?

      hey there, thanks for your question!
      basically just messing around in every possible effect combination and everything is creating different, but always great craziness :D
      in my experience Dub Music is pretty much about messing around all the time and having fun! Because basically u never know whats gonna happen.
      sometimes its also fun to add effects on your channels in the DAW before its sent out to the mixer... So when it arrives in the analog mixer its already modulated. You can map these digi aux channels to a midi controller as well, so u got even more options to mess around

      assigning... well it depends what u wanna achieve
      e.g.
      u can use 1 Aux channel for 1 effect.. another one for a chain
      but the Aux return signals is good to assign to separate faders. And even these faders u can Dub... Basically creating aux feedback loops and get totally crazy
      there is a video on our channel called 'Learn Dub Mixing in 5 Minutes' there u can find all basics explained
      and then combining and combining forever.
      Have fun!
      Best regards from the UK

    Big up and Respect! ❤️💛💚 I'm just switching from 100% digital (Logic) to mixing analog now. Any recomendations on a mixing console (wich one is it you're using?) and a phaser pedal? As a spring reverb I'm gonna get a Vermona VSR 3.2 and for Delays a Boss RE202. But I'm not quite sure about the mixing console...

      hey there, thanks for the comment.
      we are using a old 24 in, 6x aux mixer from soundcraft. but anything works actually.
      for the effects we use all sorts of stuff pedals, or rack units, cheap or not, multieffects, we also thinking about building a diy spring reverb, even vocals with crazy pitch and delay effects can work.
      experimenting is the key👍

      @@SteppersDivision meanwhile my setup got (temporary :D ) complete. using a allen&heath wixwizard 14:4:2 but as I´d like to have the aux-returns on input channels (to tweak via eq/feedback loop) I want to switch to something like 24:4:2. enough ideas but not enough space atm!
      Beside the Mixer I´m using a Boss RE-202, Benidub Filtro and a TC Electronic Helix Phaser.

    can you pull this off on stage with a live band? is it possible to have your own mixer and feed it to the main house with a band? the dub guy will be performing with the band on stage

    • @SteppersDivision
      @SteppersDivision  2 года назад +2

      hey there, thanks for the comment!
      it is possible. many reggae bands are doing this live in different setups..
      mainly using reverb, or delay for snare hits, etc...
      you could do full band live dubbing, probably you would have some bleeding in the mics, but there are ways to isolate the sounds, or arrange huge dub parts with the band.. but its just a first idea which came in my mind, for sure there are many ways how to pull it off

    • @AceBambam
      @AceBambam 2 года назад +1

      @@SteppersDivision to make it less complicated, i'll just be putting effects on the main vocals, snare drum and maybe the keys
